My son has had a fantastic experience working with Ryan. He played percussion in elementary school and wanted to try jazz band in middle school, which of course required lessons on a drum set. Ryan's calm, positive approach is perfect for my son. He has improved immensely, is much more confident, and received "most improved instrumentalist" at his final jazz band concert this year. Thank you Ryan!

I have two children at Rochester Academy of Music & Art (RAMA) taking piano and voice for over two years. It's been a wonderful experience, motivating, rewarding and creative. Our family has taken lessons with several schools and teachers in the area and we are happy to call RAMA our music home now. From logistical help to flexibility to high level instruction and skilled musicians, we have found everything we need at RAMA.

    About

I teach all levels from beginners to advanced, including snare drum, rudiments, drum set and percussion. I cover all styles including jazz, rock, blues, R&B, funk, pop, Latin, reggae, etc., as well as drum set tuning and reading of drum music. My current lesson rate is $35/half hour. Included in the lesson fee for drum set students is an audio CD recording of each lesson. I normally teach on Monday through Thursday afternoons and evenings, as well as most Saturdays. Thanks again for your interest, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Fewer students make the lessons more personal and results are instant. Experience with beginner, and advanced guitarists allows me to teach an individual in a way they can understand thoroughly. My lessons and teaching strategies tend to spark excitement and a sense of accomplishment that lasts a lifetime. Being a musician is very satisfying. Interacting with other guitarists

If you recently picked up an instrument and want someone experienced to help you take it to the next level, or your child wants to get started on a new hobby and become a better musician, I'd love to help! I teach drum kit, basic percussion, and guitar (up to intermediate level). I work with both children and adults to establish basic to advanced skills on these instruments, as well as basic music principles and theory. I price competitively.

Urban Styles are movements in motion. Everything is constantly changing and the real inspiration is the music! The feeling is like a block party, having fun while experiencing visually and physically the different forms of expression that are going on in today's urban culture from the street to the clubs, so join the party and let loose the dance in you! There is constant motion, improvisation, continuity rhythm and harmony. The beat goes on, never final, and never finished. That's the pulse and energy movement we call dance. Included at all levels is a warm-up and cool down in the creative process to convey the energy and movement of dance from hip-hop, funk to ragga and house dance. All technical stuff is put into an easy-to-follow choreography for the beginner's level. As for the advanced level, the combinations are physically and technically more challenging.
