I have multiple certifications through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). I am a certified personal trainer, corrective exercise specialist, and fitness nutrition specialist. I am also pre/post natal and kettlebell certified. Lastly, I have a master's degree in physical education and I taught it for five years. I have worked with many individuals of all ages, ranging from 13- 70+. Everyone has different capabilities, and you need to make sure your trainer is able to work within your limits. Many individuals do not move optimally and when you add weight training to these poor movement patterns, injuries can occur. That is why I stress proper movement, proper biomechanics; and my focus in the beginning will be to help you move and lift more biomechanically sound, while still working towards your health and fitness goals. My fitness philosophy is to give you an individualized program that is well-balanced by using a multi-joint (using multiple muscles in one exercise to maximize your workout) and multi-planar (moving in all directions to use all muscle groups to prevent injuries and overuse syndromes) approach that will provide a safe and enjoyable experience. Unfortunately, there are no quick solutions and no magic pill to help you lose weight no matter what you might read or see on the TV or the internet. If you want results, you need to make changes, start making healthy choices, get into good habits, and work hard. I am here to help you make those changes by giving you proper direction, keeping you focused, and motivating you so you can achieve your goals. I most recently worked at Equinox in Scarsdale, NY and learned a great deal of new information from their great education process and many wonderful trainers. I have been training with Peter for 18 months and I am extremely pleased with the results. I was interested in toning and strength building. Unsolicited compliments about my muscle tone and general physical appearance by family and friends ( some of whom may not even be aware of my training) is further proof to me that the training is making a difference. Peter is very knowledgeable about fitness as well as nutrition and it is very easy to heed his advise because he lives what he advises. My strength and endurance has increased; I feel healthier, and remain motivated by the results. Peter is patient and very devoted to his craft. He gets you through some of the most difficult exercises by gradually increasing and encouraging you on to the next level. He is attentive during our training sessions and teaches as he trains, explaining the purpose of the exercises and areas of impact.
