I hired Austin to clean out my father's house (the accumulation of ~60 years of "stuff") and from our first interaction to the last, he was highly professional, pleasant, responsive, and punctual. I had to trust the person/company that I hired because I live four hours away. We met and walked through the house, he contacted me that evening with a quote, and came back the next day for a key. Austin and his crew completed the work in two days (including scraping and painting a workshop in the basement). We kept in touch via text, and my realtor checked the work once everything was completed. I would highly recommend Austin for estate clean out work!

We did hire Paul Decker to do some work at our house in Painesville Ohio. These jobs included replacing all the screens in the gazebo painting and also refinishing our deck. Mr. Decker was prompt and completed the job within a few days. Everything was neat and clean up was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable about how to accomplish the job and Helped us choose the proper screens for the gazebo. It looks much better without all of the old holes and wear signs. We also wanted a gate custom built for our deck. He manufactured this and painted it to match the rest of the railing around the deck and it works perfectly. The price was fair and I would highly recommend handyman services.

Met Jesse purchasing paint at Sherwin Williams. He was flexible with my schedule and fit me into his schedule soon after meeting. He initially painted a high stairwell and hall but was able to return in a couple of days to do additional work including ceiling drywall repair and trim painting. He was very professional but easy going and we easily negotiated a fair price. I would certainly consider him for future work.

Jack did a fantastic job on the three home improvements I needed: painting spots on the exterior of my home, fixing a broken window and its molding, and replacing a doorknob. He has excellent communication, is very friendly and professional, and did such a great job on these projects- I am very, very happy. I highly recommend Jack for any home improvement projects you may have.

I had my master bedroom painted in a dual tone and he did a fabulous job. He was very friendly, professional and kept me informed. Have referred him to a few friends and they all have had great experiences as well!

Contrary to most contractors, we don't leave your project "almost" done and never come back. We make sure each project is 100% completed as agreed upon. Contrary to normal contractors, we don't provide "good enough" quality. We provide outstanding quality and exceptional satisfaction. Contrary to normal contractors, we don't say we'll be there at eight then show up at noon. If we say we'll be there, we will be there. If we are as much as five minutes later than our scheduled appointment, we will call ahead and let you know. Communication is as important to us as it is to you! While kitchen and bath remodeling and painting is our key strength, we also provide many other professional services which include tile work, hardwood flooring, decks, roofing, siding and much more. We're currently building a pergola!

I enjoy making customers happy by taking care of any of their concerns on the project at hand. Cleanliness is a big thing when entering someone's home.

I offer an alcohol and drug free environment which is uncommon in my field. I am extremely reliable, neat and clean.

We do auto and home painting. Our work is great and affordable. We work with any budget. Our goal is to give the client that quality work that we would pay for in the fastest and safest timely manner.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    How much do painters cost?

The national average cost for an interior painter ranges between $450 and $900. Interior painters can tackle everything from complete color makeovers in each of your rooms to touching up an accent wall to painting pieces of furniture. The square footage and complexity of the project, along with the materials needed, are the main factors that will affect cost. Other factors include whether you supply the paint yourself or want the painter to do so, whether you move the furniture and do the prep work or ask them to do it, and whether any repair work is needed on the walls. Painting the ceiling and the trim will also have an effect on cost. The type of paint you choose can also raise or lower your house painting cost. A gallon of paint may range from $20 to over $100, depending on quality and brand. Ask your painter if they charge per hour or per square foot, and how much you can save by doing prep work (moving furniture, etc.) yourself.

How much does it cost to paint the interior of a house?

Interior house painting costs are calculated on a few key factors. Nationally, interior house painting projects range from $200 to $2,500. The wide price range indicates how much square footage, paint selection and labor can affect cost. One pro uses a laser to measure each room, subtracting the size of the doors and windows, and then bases the quote on the square footage of the actual surfaces to be painted. Painters may provide you with savings if you opt to paint your entire home rather than just having one room or an accent wall painted. For example, the average house painting cost for an 8x12 room with 8-foot ceilings is roughly $200, when contractor-grade paint is used. Painting ceilings, baseboards and frames can also affect cost. Pros may charge per linear foot to smooth and paint baseboards. In one area pros might charge 50 cents per linear foot to paint baseboards, while pros in another part of the country could charge $1.50 per linear foot for the same task. Painters may charge flat rates for painting door and window frames, with one charging $20-$25 and another $60 per door. Geography and regional costs to do business play a major role in the cost of interior painting. The same painter in a rural region has less to pay in taxes, transportation, insurance and overhead than they would in a major city like New York.

How much does a painter charge per room?

The cost to paint a room will vary based on the size of the room, the type of paint you select, any ceiling or trim work needed, and any repairs needed. If no repairs or other additional work is needed, painting a room with contractor-grade paint could range from $1 to $2 per square foot, including materials. Selecting a luxury paint (some cost more than $100 per gallon) will certainly increase your house painting costs. Here are some additional examples of average house painting costs, per room:

    • 12x12 room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $125
    • 12x12 room with an 8-foot ceiling: about $100
    • 14x16 master bedroom with a 9-foot ceiling: about $150
    • 14x16 master bedroom with an 8-foot ceiling: about $125
    • 16x16 living room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $175
    • 16x16 living room with a 20-foot ceiling: starting at $225
