Absolutely top notch. And I'm picky. I got top quality. Honest, respectful, reliable. Fair price, delivered exactly as promised. Cleaned a huge tri level home, including cabinets & drawers inside and out, 31/2 bathrooms, tile, laminate, mirrors, appliances, windows inside and out, deck and hard scape. He said it would be perfect and it is. Best carpet cleaning I've ever had, wished he had been cleaning my carpets all along. Highest recommendation. Many thanks, Alexander

I hired Sparle Kleen to clean my metal roof & plastic corrugated roof over our deck. Mark & his colleague were professional, listened to my concerns, worked incredibly hard & efficiently, and did an AMAZING job cleaning our roof! They also swept my porch area & cleaned up after themselves...you wouldn't have even known they were there. I will be using them every year for cleaning from here on out. Before & After pictures attached!!! Thank you, Mark!!!

We are completely satisfied with our roofing experience by Giron. This is truly a professional roofing company, from the salesperson to the workers. We were provided with cell phone numbers so we could get assistance any time we needed it. Everyone showed up when promised and the job was completed on time. The supervisor and the business office checked in with us frequently to see if we were happy, and to alert us of needed repairs to our chimney flashing. They even recommended three chimney masons and a gutter company. The crew was pleasant, respectful, and quiet as they worked – no yelling, cursing or loud music. They took breaks like clockwork, which tells me that Giron treats them well. A portable toilet was also placed on our property, further indicating respect for workers and property owners. The crew worked extra long hours when there was rain in the forecast, and always covered the roof with tarps nightly, even when rain wasn’t expected. Additional tarps were used to protect our plants from falling debris. The entire site was cleaned up nightly, and we only ever found two pieces of old roofing materials and one staple left behind! We’ve never had any construction team that cleaned up so well. The only hassle we had was when the dumpster and portable toilet weren’t removed in the timeframe promised. When I texted the supervisor about it, they were removed the same day – even on a Sunday! The crew laid a beautiful roof using Malarkey shingles – our preference – and I highly recommend Giron for your next roof!

Very honest and affordable as I had gotten 2 roof cleaning quotes by bigger roofing companies that were almost 3 times as much! Ray and his partner were on time and cleaned up the yard when they were done. I will be contacting Ray again for sure!

Kirk and his team are truly professionals. We worked with Ibex roof on our closing of new home. Prior to closing there was a needed repair and replacement roof and a quote, Kirk and his team came out on one of the worst days of rainfall that we've had here in our area, not only got the quote in time but allowed us to close with the sellers. Kirk's team lead Travis was super to work with, he informed my wife and I of time and work done. We hired Ibex again when we noticed a patio porch roof need replacing, he also did a small repair on our two story barn that he did not charge us for. (Not something most would do) Their are bigger roofing companies, but if you like personal service with the owner and a team who get it done right. We would refer Ibex for their quality, and customer service. J.M. Ridgefield WA.

Tony and his crew did an excellent job during tear off and when installing the new shingles. He communicated well with me when sheets of plywood needed to be replaced and was very responsive to any changes that I requested. In a couple of instances he really went the extra mile. I am very happy with the job they did and my roof looks great. He is competitive and does excellent work. I highly recommend Tony (AAK Roofing) to anyone.

This Company is fantastic. They do so much more than roofing. I have used them for multiple projects including: roofing, installing a hot tub and building the deck around it, enclosing a patio, installing a pergola and remodeling a man cave and smoking room. It is locally owned, the staff is awesome and they really know their business. I highly recommend them.

Had an old, leaky roof that needed to be replaced. We are very happy we chose Cascade Roofing to do the job. From the tear off to installation, the crew was prompt and courteous and they thoroughly cleaned up the yard before leaving. It was a pleasure to work with this company. The roof looks beautiful.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Can a metal roof be installed over shingles?

Metal roofs are durable, environmentally friendly, safe and budget-friendly. If you’re considering an update, metal roofing installation doesn’t have to mean completely removing your old roof. In many cases, metal roofing can be installed over your existing shingles. Research building codes in your state, as many require that after two roofs have been installed, all roofing materials must be completely removed before a third roof can be put on. This protects your home’s structural integrity and your family’s safety. Carefully read contractor reviews and choose someone with extensive experience with metal roofing installation. One concern when installing metal over shingles is that over time, condensation can build on the shingles and cause the metal to rust. This will lead to rust around the panels, making them more likely to come loose in a storm. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000. The wide price range represents different roof sizes, different types of metal, and the cost of labor in different parts of the country — and can also include the cost of removing an old shingle roof prior to installing the metal. As a line item, the average cost of removing an old roof to prepare for installing a new roof, plus adding new roof decking, costs on average about $45-$75 per square (the pro roofer’s term for 100 square feet), depending on the pitch of the roof. Always make sure you have a clearly written contract and a warranty on both the labor and the metal.

What is a standing seam metal roof?

A standing seam metal roof may be a strong, durable, safe choice when you’re considering metal roofing installation options. A standing seam refers to the raised seam where the sheet metal roofing panels join. Traditionally, shingles and roof panels lie flush to the roof, making them more prone to rust or penetration by water at their seams. In a standing seam metal roof, the raised (or standing) seams run vertically from the roof ridge to the eaves, with no horizontal seams. In addition, the fasteners joining the metal panels together are concealed, providing even fewer opportunities for water or moisture to build up. The cost to install a standing seam metal roof will depend on the type of metal you select, the size of your roof, and the cost of roofing labor in your region. Materials will play a major role in your metal roofing installation costs. If you select standard galvanized steel, the cost per square (100 square feet) might be in the $150-$300 range, while a high-end choice such as copper or zinc could be between $1,000 and $1,500 per square. Here is one example of cost:

  • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.

How much does it cost for a metal roof?

Metal roofing installation is an attractive option thanks to metal’s long lifespan, hardiness and fire-retardant properties. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000.There are different types of metal roofs, each with their own installation needs and materials costs. Roof size also affects your metal roofing installation costs, as do regional labor rates. Roof size is measured in squares; one square equals 100 square feet. Here are some examples of the average cost for a metal roof:

  • Standard metal roof: $120-$150 per square to start, including materials and labor
    • A 30-square roof (a 3,000-square-foot roof) could cost between $3,600 and $4,500 for a typical three-bedroom home.
  • Snap-Loc metal roof: $200-$225 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $6,000-$6,750.
  • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.
  • Tuff-Rib metal roof: $250-$350 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $7,500-$10,500.
  • Mid-range metal roof package, including all accessories: $300-$500 per square.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000-$15,000.
  • High-end metal roof package — such as zinc or copper — and all accessories: $1,000-$1,500 per square.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $30,000-$45,000.
