Mike Wible of Masco Appliance Repair troubleshot my issue via email and did not charge me a penny !!!!. The cheapest I could find to just come look was $100, these folks were $50. I already ran the diagnostics and just needed confirmation of the problem. That kind of service is unheard these days.

i went thru several appliance repair companies to get a new ice maker put in my new but past warrantied fridge, the guys either didn't show up, were rude, or put in a bad/not new device. finally decided to find a guy on my own, bernhard was prompt, courteous, professional, experienced, and did a great job. i've finally had ice for a few months running now.

    We had a problem with some of the food freezing in our refrigerator. When we called Solutions Electronics, the person answering the phone was pleasant and knowledgeable. She asked several questions about what was wrong with our fridge and set up an appointment for the next day. The technician arrived on time, and was courteous and professional. He quickly diagnosed the problem and replaced the bad part. The price was very reasonable (the fridge is no longer under warranty) and the service was done quickly. I wouldn't hesitate to call them again in the future.

    Tech Jimmy was friendly, honest and experienced. The refrigerator is +/- 30 years old and has another issue. Jimmy explained that it would probably cost about $900. to repair and that it would be my decision as to what to do.

Here are some examples of average costs:

    • Diagnostic fees: $50-$100. Repair pros often have a service call fee or diagnostic fee to account for their time traveling to your location with all their tools to assess the problem. If you choose to have them repair the fridge, most pros then credit this fee toward your repair cost.
    • Parts: $20-$500. A new compressor averages $200, an icemaker $300, and computerized components such as touch screens and control boards average $300 or more.
    • Basic repairs: $180-$400, including parts. This price range can include repairing the evaporator or fan motor.

    How long do fridges last?

    Refrigerators can last 10 to 20 years, although the most common lifespan is about 13 years.
