I didn't work with Bill since he already had a gig booked. His brother DJed my wedding on July 12, 2014 and was fabulous! Catered to all of our music needs and even double checked with me, the bride, to make sure everything was correct! He said he'd be my best friend by the end of the night, and turns out he was. The selection of music other than the songs I already picked worked out great. I would recommend this company's service far and wide! Great Job!

We chose Greg from a number of professionals that we had interviewed to be the photographer at our Wedding in Connecticut. What really impressed us on the initial phone call was his energy and passion which seemed so evident even through the phone. What happens if it rains, we asked? He stated he would get a plastic bag, wrap it around his camera, and keep shooting! This was a twelve hour event and that fact did not phase him at all. Greg was on time, and we had actually asked him to come earlier then we originally planned, and he had no problem with that. Not only were the quality of the pictures beyond what we had hoped for, we were also very impressed with his level of energy and the multitude of angles and creativity he showed. He was very easy to get along with, would take whatever shots we wanted, but also had plenty of ideas of his own. During sunset, he asked us to come down to the treeline so he could get a shot of the sun over our shoulder. It was a beautiful shot and not one we had specifically asked for, which showed us that he really cared about what he was doing. Many of our guests commented during the wedding on how great our photographer was and once we started sharing the pictures everyone was even more impressed! We would highly recommend him to anyone and would definitely use him again if we had an occasion to. Jess and Patrick

Marc Cacho and MC Visuals were very professional. Through out my wedding planning process he worked with me and made adjustments to my contract as necessary. The day of my wedding his crew was very flexible and made sure to capture my special moments with elegance and class. I had a wonderful stress free experience. It was a blessing to be able to find a team that included photographers and a videographer at such a reasonable price.

We had Gary and Kristen photograph our parent's 50th wedding anniversary. One thing that I appreciated very much was that throughout the party they were able to capture important moments without us having to tell them which included many wonderful candid moments. Their attention to detail was outstanding as well.

We had our 25th Wedding Anniversary Celebration and they were outstanding ! Our guests commented on how much fun they had and how great the DJ's were. Our event was from 7pm to midnite. Cost was very reasonable. I was impressed how they helped us stick to our schedule for toast, etc so we could just concentrate on having a great time ! I don't think it could have gone any better and I would definitely use them again in the future and recommend them to my friends ! Thank you so much !

DJ Ken was great to work with. He played exactly what we requested, and we got a ton of compliments about his ability to read the crowd and play the right music at the right time. EVERYONE danced- for hours- at our wedding, including several people who "don't dance" (even someone who was wheelchair-bound). You can tell he is passionate about what he does, and he was responsive, professional, and so helpful the entire time, both during the months leading up to the big day and the wedding itself. Thank you Ken for making the most important day of our lives that much more memorable!

Bob Mattera Photography Pros: Expert Wedding Photography, Experienced, Helpful, Thoughful, Guiding, Invisible, Considerate, Efficient, Cost-Conscious. Cons: Weather - Expertly adjusted for... Venue - Tough (Small-ish), masterfully shot (couldn't tell venue size from end results. Event: October outdoor wedding at Bristol harbor, reception at DeWolfe Tavern. Outstanding photography work in all respects. From planning, through execution and results, thoroughly professionally performed in all respects. Bob guided us smartly though the planning, staging, before / after shots in an entirely comfortable, efficient manner. He performed that majority of photography for both the small wedding ceremony and reception in an almost invisible manner - we scarcely noticed the photo shooters even present. Where he really excelled however, was in dealing with those of us that did not want (were not comfortable with) 'staged' or 'posed' shots. So he and his second photographer seamlessly blended into the event, taking wonderful candid and informal shots of all - entirely surpassing our expectations. Always scrupulously timely at every step (never late, always early and ready to go), the entire experience was of the highest order. The planning and pricing for all of the services we were interested in were discussed at length (great recommendations were provided - many acted upon), and the result was entirely reasonably priced and performed at or below our requested budget - detailed costs were provided in a meticulous, business-line manner at all points along the path. We would not hesitate to most strongly recommend Bob Mattera for any wedding, family or corporate event photography services. Feel free to call, text, or email us with any questions about our experience or further details. Our wedding photo experience was actually really enjoyable and fun. We have really nice memories of working with Bob and his wife before, during and after our wedding.

I wished i could choose all of the highlights if this app gave me an option to! I just want to say that i had a great experience with Rev. Denomme. While i was experiencing issues being punctual (as the bride) , and had to push back the start of the ceremony til about another hour, he stood there in the beating sun to stay and officiate my wedding. The sermon was beautiful and i still could not believe as i was standing face to face with my groom that i was getting married. It felt like a dream! Rev., thank you for coming out to Lincoln, it was a pleasure!

Working with Shayna was the one of the top decisions of our wedding this past July! She worked with us and our unique visions to create the best video we could have ever expected. We went a little non-traditional and wanted to do a storytelling method with our wedding. This was a new experience for Shayna and us, but it honestly could not have gone smoother! The video had a beautiful balance of our ceremony, time with friends/family, getting ready, and friends/family interviews (the unique part of our video). If you are looking for someone who will give you top level video, professionalism, and sincerity, it is 100% Shayna!

Robin did both my makeup and hair for my wedding day and to say it was an amazing experience I think is an understatement. My makeup came out beautiful, along with my hair which held up until 4am the next day! She was so welcoming and really made my special day, that much more special. I couldnt have been any happier to have Robin as my stylist. As I'm sure every bride is worried that everything turns out perfect, especially when it comes to their hair and makeup, my stress was lifted after talking to her for awhile and her giving me honest opinions. Her confidence gave me a sense of relief. Needless to say I couldn't leave without friending her on Facebook! She's is without a doubt very talented.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does a wedding event coordinator do?

Pulling off a large, complex wedding or an elegant, small affair requires juggling myriad details, including the officiant, food, drink, wedding cake, entertainment, transportation, rehearsal dinner, photography, equipment rentals, venue reservations and more. A wedding event coordinator can help you keep track of these details, overseeing the planning process and managing everything on the day of your wedding. Each wedding coordinator (and wedding) is different, but in general you can expect an event coordinator to:

  • Help you devise a realistic wedding budget and hold your vendors to it.
  • Map out a master plan that includes all of the details including ceremony music, favors, the guest book and more.
  • Suggest ceremony and reception locations that fit your wedding size, budget and vision.
  • Suggest florists, photographers, bands, caterers and other vendors that fit your budget.
  • Negotiate vendor contracts for the best deals.
  • Create a timeline for the day of the wedding that includes each vendor and member of your wedding party.
  • Mail invitations and track RSVPs.
  • Answer questions about wedding etiquette and current wedding trends.
  • Manage the wedding day from supervising vendors and setup to handling last-minute emergencies.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

How do you find a good caterer?

Reviews, interviews and menu tastings will help you find the right catering choice for your big day. Start by screening possible wedding caterers based on past reviews. If a caterer you are interested in has a review that concerns you, ask them about it; how they respond will be very telling. Next, ask about their availability for your wedding date.

If the wedding caterer is available on your date, it’s time to talk about menus and prices. Be clear about what your maximum budget is find out what choices this will allow you. Caterers may custom-create a menu for your event, or they may have menu templates within different price ranges that can guide your decision. A clear budget gives the caterer clear parameters within which to work and offer creative suggestions. Schedule a menu tasting to confirm you love your wedding menu. Once you have a menu and date, and have paid a deposit to reserve the caterer’s services, confirm additional details including when the food will be delivered to the site, what kind of service will be provided, how many servers will be onsite and for how long, and who is responsible for setup and cleanup. The more specific your contract, the fewer worries you’ll have on your wedding day. Get more smart hiring tips here.

What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
