Nick has really been an extraordinary teacher and mentor to our son. Caleb has been playing guitar for 6-7 years, and Nick has taken him on his musical journey from 'twinkle twinkle little star' to Jimmy Hendrix and Led Zeppelin. No matter where Caleb's musical interests have gone ( trying out for 'jazz band', all state, working with a rock band, or solo performances), Nick has helped Caleb develop his skills and confidence with patience and encouragement. Nick communicates really well with parents and students about semester goals ( including aspects of music theory and ear training). We recommend him highly and without reservation!
Jaime is a uniquely equipped guitar teacher for classical technique. Common bad habits combined with a strong determination to improve, strained young Jaime's hand to the point where it needed surgery. This did not slow him down and now, as a result, adult Jaime is keenly aware of the dangers of improper technique and knows exactly how to correct it when he sees it. He always has exciting song recommendations and tips and tricks for getting the most out of your practice time. It's clear that Jaime loves the guitar and that love has made him an excellent musician and an equally excellent teacher.
Very flexible and understanding. Unfortunately, I had outside commitments that left my schedule a bit crazy and unpredictable, and Jessica always accommodate me ... However, I have yet to squeeze in a lesson, but I would highly recommend Jessica on professionalism alone, she's super sweet, excited about people's goals, and was willing to take on my idea for voice lessons, even though they were a little different (for public speaking).
I've had multiple sessions with Josh. He's extremely knowledge about Ableton and music theory in general. Since starting my lessons I've learned how to master my tracks and many different techniques to help make my tracks sound more unique.
What an excellent teacher--I am an adult voice student and I have learned a lot. Her comments are very helpful and respectfully given. Plus I have learned wonderful music and have enjoyed the lessons immensely. Lenae is the accompanist for two groups I sing with: the Broad Cove Chorale and the Unicorn Singers in Hingham MA What a demon pianist and organist--and singer who can fill in whenever and wherever she's needed Nothing she can't do! Sally Davenport
Alan was my first and only guitar teacher. He went above and beyond to help me to not only learn guitar, but learn music theory, work on writing music, and overall prepared me to be a collegiate music student and a working musician. Alan found out my goals right off the bat and catered our weekly lessons toward them. He provided encouragement and helpful feedback. He fostered my love for music, guitar, singing, and songwriting. Alan's music lessons helped shape me into the musician I am today.
My daughter absolutely loves her piano lessons with Anna! She is incredible with children and makes my litle girl smile from ear to ear! She is so patient and talented and her passion for music is evident.
David has been teaching me guitar for a little over a month now. I have already seen great advances in my technique, rhythm, and understanding of music. I have been playing guitar for 9 years off and on, and I have never had professional lessons. I can say that after a month with David, I am playing better than I ever have and believe that my guitar playing skills will continue to progress rapidly with David's help. His teaching technique is very casual and fun, almost conversational, and his insights are spot on. He is exactly what I hoped for in an instructor when I started looking at guitar lessons and I would highly recommend him for anyone who loves guitar, regardless of their skill level. He is a 'must hire' professional!
Wanted to take piano lessons, so I called the owner, Kris, and he made me feel very confident and comfortable in going with his studio. Charlie, my piano teacher, is very good. He's attentive, patient, and most importantly challenges me. Great experience so far. Highly recommended.
I'm in my 80s and am taking jazz lessons from Joyce. She is a friend as well as a teacher. She shares her enthusiasm for music and teaches not just about playing the piano but also about the composers and the ways of personalizing my playing. Taking lessons from her has been a wonderful experience for me. I would recommend her to all age groups as she is so attuned to each person she is teaching. She's a special person.
Jonas has been teaching our daughter, Allison, for about 7 years. I can't begin to say enough about Jonas as a teacher, mentor and person. He has given Allison such confidence in herself and her music . . . Jonas always goes above and beyond - encouraging Allie to perform and write music, working 1 on 1 with her to record her music and getting her used to mics and sound systems. He has been a huge influence on Allison over the years . . .she truly looks to Jonas as one of the people she admires most in her life. We can't recommend Jonas' Guitar Lessons enough!
Bengisu is the vocal instructor for my son Wilson and she is helping me with music theory. The 2 hour period we spend with her every week is something my little boy, who is 7 years old, is looking forward. She knows how to set the tone with Wilson and me. Her attitude to Wilson is very playful and she makes him admire music more and more. The fact that we are working on theory and Bengisu showing me the connection between math and music theory fascinates me every time. She prepares little cue cards for me and she always sends the recording of each class with Wilson. She also sends some exercises for Wilson as video so he can watch and learn.
Maribelle is a wonderful piano teacher and she is also a very nice person. My granddaughter enjoys her lessons very much and we hope to continue them in the future.
First of all, Lenae's enthusiasm and encouragement during lessons made the kids' introduction to piano very enjoyable and accessible for them. She was so kind to our children and so positive about the experience of making music; her rapport with the kids really made for a great start for them. They liked being with Lenae and being at her studio, and her flexibility in letting the little ones play around while the older ones got lessons was always appreciated. Getting a chance to play the Lawson Tower bells and at the different types of recitals Lenae offered were also great experiences for the kids. We also appreciated the way she let the kids follow their interest in which pieces they chose to focus on.
After taking piano lessons from a traditional piano teacher for 6 years, I needed a change. Steve was the perfect choice. He played at a local piano bar at the time, and I wanted to hone my skills so I could play in bands, too. I assumed he would teach me the ins and outs of chords and then send me off to conquer the music scene, but it turned out he had a real mastery of musical theory, and he held it to a very high importance. He began each of our lessons with music theory - all the basics that make a solid foundation for any musician. Then, he introduced a new concept to something I had been doing all along. He gave me sheet music to learn - tough teaching songs - then after a time, began blocking my view of my hands with paper while playing. Eventually, he'd block my hands and take away the music, teaching me a very important part of playing anything in front of people. You have to know the music inside and out. You can't rely on the sheets in front of you. That's the only way you can truly immerse yourself in the song and let your fingers do the playing. His fees were reasonable and the time was very well-spent. You have to do the work between lessons to get the most out of them. Steve has a true mastery of live performance on every level, and it would behoove any musician, young or old, beginner or skilled, to spend a year in his teaching. We can all benefit from it. I certainly did. I've been in various bands, ever since, and I haven't looked back except to remember who helped me get here.
Trevor has a very broad musical experience to draw from and knows how to pace his teaching based off of my skill level/previous experience. The lessons and assignments are challenging but productive and fun. On top of that, he's friendly, easy-going, and flexible with scheduling. Would recommend!
He offers services that are professional, and very personalized! He makes his lesson plans geared toward my individual needs. Lastly, he has always been supportive of whatever I aspire to do. It is a pleasure to work with him as a former voice student and current piano student. I highly recommend him for any of his services!
Working with Erini has been a blast! She helps you identify your strengths and weaknesses and works hard to improve your technique both by demonstrating and by explaining things in different ways until they sink in. She always takes a few minutes in the beginning to check in with you and the atmosphere she creates is friendly, fun and comfortable. Taking lessons with an extremely talented and experienced vocalist can be intimidating but, with Erini, you feel as if you're learning with a friend. Erini will take time to come up with personalized exercises for your individual problem areas, and she reinforces important concepts throughout. I saw improvement from the very first few lessons I took with Erini, and I look forward to progressing more!
I do musical theater, individual and group classes in lesson format and/or summer workshops. I also do performance, choreography, coaching and special occasion coaching. I have been training actors young to old, from Shakespeare, Broadway, Modern, Classical Theater. Languages is my specialty. I offer stage combat training. I am an accompanist/studio a given.
Joyce is a lovely person whose knowledge of music is profound. We always have a great time a my lessons and I learn a lot.
Jodi has been teaching piano lessons in my home to my three children for over two years and we couldn't be happier. She has an easy way with the children, they have learned a great deal of theory, they play very well and they LOVE to play. I highly recommend Jodi Griffith as a piano teacher.
