Planning a destination wedding in Newport, RI in 6 months while living hundreds of miles away, working full time, moving once cross-country, finding a new job, starting a new job, etc, etc, is no easy task, even with a wedding planner! With everything going on in my life, plus the short timeframe (the wedding date we selected was 6 months out from the day we secured the venue), and the fact that I am a perfectionist, I knew I was going to need help. I was lucky enough to come across SYB Event Planning while on Thumbtack. I interviewed a few companies and ended up selecting SYB because Soraya, the owner, and I really clicked while talking on the phone. While I wasn't necessarily looking for a cultural wedding, I knew she would understand some of the nuances with our families because my husband and I come from different cultural backgrounds. Soraya specializes in taking the time to understand different cultures and she goes out of her way to embed as much or as little as you want of you or your partner's culture into your wedding. I'm so glad I had Soraya for the entire wedding planning process and for the day of the wedding. Our wedding was absolutely beautiful and totally exceeded my expectations (this is a perfectionist speaking...just for some perspective). I don't think that could have been possible without having Soraya helping along the way. She challenged me to think about things I would have never thought of and took care of all the details. She went above and beyond to make sure the wedding was as successful as it could be. She even drove over 90 miles each way to get us a cute favor that we really wanted for our guests...without hesitating! I didn't even ask her, but when she heard me talking about what I would like to do if the place was closer, she just jumped in and said she would take care of it. I'm so thankful for everything Soraya did to make our special day a success and would highly recommend her to anyone trying to plan a wedding.

Heather and Lindsay of Simply Radiant Events helped to make sure our wedding day went perfect! My husband and I didn't have to worry about a thing having Lindsay there to coordinate everything at the church, while Heather handled all the vendors at the venue. After doing a lot of DIY projects and planning to create the wedding of our dreams, it was amazing to just be able to sit back and enjoy it. From our first meeting with Heather, I knew we had made the right choice for day of services. They are both type-A and organized enough to make even the most neurotic bride feel confident and genuinely funny, kind and caring that you can't help but want them to be a part of your day. We worked with Christine on our baby shower in NYC. She had helped us to navigate throughout the whole planning process. Coordinating venues, vendors, researching cost effective options and generating new ideas. On the big day Christine organized the set up and decorations. My wife and I were looking for a small ceremony on a short notice. Jim was great in accommodating that for us he was there for at a drop of a hat. He was great during the ceremony and taking care of the paperwork with our local town hall. I would highly recommend him to anyone. I actually recently recommended him to my best friend and his fiance.

Working with All Aboard Event Planning has been incredible!! Jenny has been extremely helpful with everything. She makes you feel organized and not stressed out at all!! She asked for ideas of what I was thinking/planning on doing and was able to get me quotes for everything within days. She has even been in contact with the vendors to sort everything out. She asks all the right questions and knows all the little details that you need for your big day. She also keeps me on track and organized. I honestly don't know what I would do without her!     Kathy has catered multiple events for my company. So well, I've asked her to cater for my personal events as well. Her diverse knowledge of cultural cuisines is what makes me call her back every time. Tell her your idea or theme and let her do the rest.     I had an amazing experience, and so glad I decided to book EB events for my small wedding. I booked last minute, and I loved how they were understanding and accommodating to my busy timeline. My guests, loved how they were received. Just recently while talking to a friend I asked about the slippers I saw her wearing at the end of my wedding. I had seen another guest with these slippers and found it odd. It turns out they must have been given to guests by EB events after hearing some guests say their feet hurt. Totally unexpected, not something that I had thought of but thankful for having EB events look out for my guests while I was busy. Definitely did the job of taking care of details for me.

    Horton By Fourah Bay planned my husband's surprise birthday party! I didn't want to be terribly involved in the planning, so the HBFB team took care of everything from the party concept to the decorating of the hall. It was a Heinken themed party with handmade, custom Heinken bottles with my husband's name on it on every table and menus adorned with a customized Heinken logo. Although I wasn't involved in the nitty gritty of it all, HBFB kept me informed throughout the whole process, which really made me feel like a member of the HBFB family. There truly isn't any event planning company that's as friendly and personable as this one, and that's what made this experience better than the rest!
