Charleston Chef Jake White did an excellent job cooking at our StayDuvet house in Charleston. We had 15 people for a sit-down, three-course meal. The event was timely, the presentation was impressive, and the food was delicious. Would highly recommend Chef Jake.

I had an absolutely amazing time working with this Chef. I hired him to prepare a birthday dinner for my brother in law and sister, and he exceeded all of our expectations. Let me start at the beginning: he was easy to work with, upfront with costs and what was included, gave sample menus to choose from, and was flexible with making some changes. It was easy to know when payments were due and we quickly chose a menu, date, and time. The day of the dinner, he was prompt and prepared. He had printed menus and placed everything beautifully. My sister and brother in law raved about him and are already planning another occasion to have him back. They said he was personable and entertaining. Now THE FOOD: Again, I was not fortunate enough to be there, but my sister immediately was sending pictures of the food (something only I ever do and she makes fun of me for it - so it truly had to be scrumptious). We had selected the American steakhouse dinner menu with a wine pairing which started with fresh baked bread. The chef had prepared the dough in the morning and cooked it right in my sister's oven. She said it was delicious and had both butter and an oil side and was paired with a delicious champagne. Then was the main course - steak, mashed potatoes, and green beans. Her and my brother in law couldn't stop talking about how it was the best steak they have ever had. This again was something I was not expecting as my brother in law eats A LOT of steak and my sister prefers other meats. This was paired with a red wine and then it was time for the third and final course. The chef was kind enough to offer multiple chocolate based options when selecting this course, and we chose a chocolate creme brulee. They had never tasted anything like it and raved about the raspberry compote and sweet white wine it was paired with. If you are considering hiring this chef, do yourself a favor and go for it! 10/10 recommend and will hire again!

We hired Chef Jake to come to our rental house in Kiawah for a private chef dinner and he was fantastic. Communication leading up to the event was excellent and he was very professional and on time. The meal was creative, delicious, and overall a wonderful experience. Highly recommend and we can’t wait to hire him again when we come back to Kiawah. Thanks Chef Jake!

I would highly recommend Chef Jake. His food & presentation outstanding were outstanding. He was a pleasure to work with and his prices were very reasonable. I would use him for any type of event in the future from an intimate dinner to a wedding like I had. 5 star all the way!!
