I have two gas hot water heater needed to be replaced due to age (15 years old). One in garage and the other one in attic. Scott, a master plumber, came the day I contacted him to take a first look and gave me a very reasonable cost of labor to do the job. He came to complete the job two days later on a Sunday. There were some unexpected difficulties during the job and Scotty's experience and expertise showed in the solutions. For example, the one in garage needs a short version of water heater due to space restriction. But the new water heater tank is more than 2 inches bigger in diameter, so it will not fit the old space. But Scotty added a 90 degree elbow at the gas line outlet to redirect the gas line away from the water heater and solved the space problem. The attic water heater was much harder to replace and Scotty handled the job with hard work and expertise. Scotty did an excellent job replacing my aging water heaters I have no problem recommending him to my relatives and friends.
I hired Angel after I had to run a 240v plug from the breaker, which is on the outside of my house, to my leaving room on the other side of the house. Since I don't have an attic or crawlspace, the electrician had to cut a several holes into the ceiling to fish the wire over to the laundry room. I just bought the house the week before so I not very happy that I already had to cut into the ceiling. I sent out a request on Thumbtack and Angel replied right away. He gave me a quote for the job as I described it and then lowered his quote after I gave more information about it and he saw it would be less work. I appreciated that he adjusted the quote to the amount of work that was done as many people will try to gouge you. When he came over, he was on time, very polite, and quickly started working. He did a great job and now I can't even tell where the electrician cut 4 holes into my brand new home. Angel did a great job and I'd definitely recommend him to anyone looking for repair work.
Tim did a great job installing our attic access. He ran into some strange things the sheetrock crew did, but informed me right away and worked around it quickly to finish within a couple of hours. Tim quoted me a price range before the job and stayed within that even when running into an unexpected issue. Tim was super friendly and very mindful of our house and belongings. I will definitely use Tim again for future jobs.
Thomas did a great job! He came on short notice, braved a sweltering attic, and put in a new light fixture for us. He was polite, made sure we were happy with the placement of the light, and cleaned up when he was finished. Thanks again Thomas!!
Electrical rewiring of the garage motion sensor lighting, electrical rewiring of the attic cooling fan, install of the blinds, repairs of shutters and wall baseboard ... Great and clean job. Overall, works well done!!
Very impressed with Dayton. They were able to schedule same-day service. Their electrician Javier showed up on time and quickly diagnosed the problem with my kitchen light and was able to identify and correct the root problem (poorly connected wires) that other electricians had overlooked in the past (this fixture had been problematic for some time, requiring several service calls). He also advised about what to do if it continues to have problems. I will definitely call Dayton again the next time I need an electrician.
My husband stepped through our ceiling from the attic and we had a nice sized hole that needed repairing. Manuel was the only one to respond with a quote on Thumbtack and although I thought he was a bit pricey at the time, I agreed. Manuel arrived ON TIME and was very professional. I cannot stress enough how surprised I was given that contractors recently think the arrival time is a suggestion and not an agreement. I was immediately impressed. The second thing that impressed me was that Manuel and his assistant laid down thick butcher paper to protect my floors, and plastic to ensure that drywall dust didn't end up in other parts of the house. He also vacuumed and cleaned the floors when he left. The job took over 3 hours, so I no longer thought the original quote was expensive given the job and the impressive detail to quality. I would definitely hire him again.
After a broken pipe flooded part of my home, a water restoration company came out and removed the bottom 2 feet of of drywall and insulation in three rooms. Chase came out on Thursday afternoon and gave me an estimate for repair and texturing. Most important to me was that it could be completed quickly and Chase told me it would all be finished by Monday which was what I needed. He began work on Friday and was finished by 2pm on Saturday. Wow. The quality of the work is outstanding. Chase was professional yet personable and very easy to work with. I will not hesitate to call him again for any such jobs in the future.
I needed someone to paint the exterior of our 1940 house. I wanted a contractor willing to remove as much of the old, peeling paint as possible, and the big painting outfits are just not interested in doing this amount of prep work. I got five bids, and Fina Ross of ROSS Painting Contracting stood out to me from the start. As we walked around my house the first time, I noticed immediately her extreme attention to detail. She expressed concern about the various ways our house wasn't sealed against water and educated me on how she suggested correcting this prior to painting. Although I was also very interested in one other contractor, I chose Fina because she said she "really wants to give people what they want." I believed her, and she delivered on this promise. Fina worked hard to organize crews to powerwash, scrape, and sand the original wood siding. She made sure her guys filled every nook and cranny before painting. I also had Fina replace the trim around the windows. When the old trim was removed, Fina discovered that there was no insulation around any of the windows. She paused in the work to purchase what she needed to insulate the windows before replacing the trim. Once Fina addressed this unexpected need, it made a huge difference in reducing the street noise coming into our house. Throughout the project, we ran into unexpected bumps, and Fina did an excellent job of proposing the most cost-effective solutions that would also retain or add value to our home. I will not hesitate to hire Fina again for other home projects.
Rene and his crew did a great job! They removed and replaced the attic access door in our garage. The one we had ordered was actually the wrong size and they took care of finding the correct one and helping with the exchange. Rene went above and beyond by sealing up some additional cracks in our garage ceiling as well as repairing the ceiling where it was damaged from the previous door trim. Communication, quality of the work and cleanliness of the work area after they left were all great. I will definitely call Rene and his crew again the next time we need some work done.
I contracted Ryan to put in receptacles in bedrooms, GFI in kitchen and bathrooms, replace a breaker, wire attic fan and install microwave. Ryan was personable, on time, and did a fantastic job at a great price. Will use him again.
Bill and his teammate, Cody, built a staircase to lead to our upstairs attic bedroom to replace a spiral staircase that was quiet dysfunctional. Bill was dependable and did a really great job on it as it was a custom job and he had limited space to work with. He has a very pleasant personality...light-hearted and cheerful. We will definitely use him in the future for other projects. We still have to paint it so it's not completely finished.
I hired Green Building Energy Services to add additional insulation to my attic. I am VERY happy with the entire experience. Betty and Kyle responded promptly to my Thumbtack request for an estimate. They arrived on time for the in-home estimate and were quite friendly, polite, and professional. Kyle explained that the builder did not install insulation over my garage, pantry, and master bedroom closets because building codes do not require it. GBES' quote was $100 - 200 less than other Thumbtack and Home Advisor quotes. Antonio and his teammate arrived on time for the installation. They are just as professional and friendly as Betty & Kyle. Setup, installation and cleanup only took 2 hours. The spray insulation was done very thoroughly and filled every gap left by the builder. Antonio and his teammate cleaned up EVERY tiny strand of insulation and packing materials in my garage and on the driveway. Based on price, professionalism, responsiveness and quality of work, I highly recommend GBES.
Chris helped me restore my 1965 vintage camper and did an INCREDIBLE job!! From the gutting, to the walls, to the electrical, plumbing, custom cabinets, the bed, closet, kitchen, custom butcher block countertops, there is nothing he can't do! I was so pleased with the finish product that so exceeded my expectations! So attention to detail and perhaps the thing that set him apart was his use space and managing my expectations. We had a few set backs on the build, but Chris was communicative and fair. The best part was how affordable and fair he was. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! 5 stars!
I cannot say enough good things about these guys. Came out Sunday night and got on my roof for raccoon damage. Put double screens on the vents and attic so we will no longer have any animals in our house. Also replaced the siding where the raccoons had made a second entry. Beautiful job Chad, Phillip & Shawn !!!! So glad we found them and will continue to hire them
Nice gentleman came out and looked at my exterior walls and my attic. He offered me a variety of insulation types and explained to me some of the benefits each one has. They were not the "cheapest" so to speak, but I felt comfortable with the job being done correctly by this team
I hired Edgar to expand the opening to my attic so my new hot water heater would fit through it. He did a professional job with the carpentry work and installing the wider stairs. He was on time and polite. I would not hesitate to hire him again for future jobs.
He has done the last five of my jobs. He will continue to do all my insulation work for GM construction. He is the best installation man I have ever worked with for the last 50 years.
Alan has done many jobs for me from little things like changing my furnace filter to adding wood flooring in my attic, building cabinets for storage in my garage and helping with hardscaping my patio and building a fence. He is very reliable, which is a rare thing in Austin these days. It's nice to know you have someone you can rely on to show up when they say they will, and do quality work / give you what you paid for!
We interviewed other businesses before deciding to use BioaFoam and they are by far the best choice when considering price, product, customer service, and most important character and trust. Ben was a pleasure to work with (he really went the extra mile when he didn't have too) and I would highly recommend using BioFoam Insulation to anyone. Not only did it help us reduce our monthly electric bill but it also help to keep out wasps that were getting in our attic. Great job guys and may God continue to bless you, your family and business : )
