Let me preface this all by saying my goal for learning a language is to attain mastery such that I can communicate in all aspects of reading, writing, speaking, listening to a level that is comparable of a native speaker (with reasonable exceptions of course). Previously I had attended several in person learning institutions like a community college, a university, and private in-person tutoring to help me get to an intermediate level. So, in researching other alternatives I was hesitant to pursue telecommuted lessons as I was worried there would be aspects that are not adequately or as easily achieved via in-person teaching. Fluency Corp is a fantastic organization that has ameliorated all of these concerns and done so in an exceptional fashion! The teacher I was paired with is incredibly intelligent, very facilitating, and creates graded work that is at my specific learning level. Additionally any issues we encounter in learning is emphasized in future lessons so that I can hammer out the issues I was experiencing. I purchased 100 hours of education and have been thoroughly please with the experience. So much so that I'm actively looking to see if I can help my spouse participate in this process. I would absolutely recommend it to a friend or family member, and even strangers. The only negative concern I have is that "Fluency Corp" sounds like an evil corporation from a movie. It absolutely is not evil, and is a fantastic organization, however the name just has that kind of feeling to me :)

I have seen Brianna invest her time and talents to improve not only the intellect of her students, but to edify and care for them in every way she was able. Like most of us, I have a favorite teacher from my childhood, and I believe Brianna is that to many students. If you elect to hire Club Z Plano / North Dallas, you can ensure your education needs will be attended to until the goal is reached.

As an educator, I have observed that Mrs. Sandhir provides a rich and risk-free learning environment so that the students are academically prepared for the next school year. The students are engaged in activities that are well planned and challenging, due to her study and knowledge of all subject matter. Mrs. Sandhir is open to using best practices to ensure her students accomplish what is expected of them. To be an effective teacher and leader, one must work closely with the administrators and staff of their campus, but one must also work closely and establish a “trusting relationship” with the parents and the students. Mrs. Yenisey Sandhir develops respect and positive relationships with the students, community, and co-workers. This strong tie has been there because Mrs. Sandhir is caring, sensitive, loving and sets high expectations for herself, her students and the parents. Her goal is for everyone to be successful and to enjoy being in school.

Mrs. Blojay helped my daughter make progress in several of her math classes, especially in Algebra. The customized plans she developed for my daughter accurately identified the learning gaps that had impeded her grasping new concepts. While working on the learning gaps, my daughter was better able to grasp and understand the concepts presented to her. As a result, my daughter kept pace in her math classes and successfully completed them. Equally important, my daughter made acceptable math scores on college entrance exams and gained entry to college-level math classes without having to take non-credit prep math courses. Mrs. Blojay also provided a foundation of problem-solving strategies that assisted my daughter throughout her college years and into her current profession. As a retired educator (math teacher and guidance counselor), I can appreciate the efforts made by Mrs. Blojay in assuring the successful outcome for each student she encounters. Her comprehensive approach to "meeting the student where he/she is" and providing understandable, knowledge-building steps to "where he/she should be" is highly beneficial and satisfying to the student. Students who have received tutoring from Mrs. Blojay met or surpassed the required passing scores on local school and national assessments. As a result of receiving help from Mrs. Blojay, students have thrived, succeeded, and gained self-confidence in learning and using math.

Apryl has worked with both of my kids. She is truly amazing! She was able to help my kids and get them to understand math in away that others could not. The best part about working with Apryl is that my kids want to get her help. They both think she is the best and makes learning fun!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How do you find a good math tutor?

Math home tutors are available for any age student, from elementary school to postgraduate studies. Rates will vary based on the tutor’s background, education and experience. To find a good math tutor, first determine your learning goals. Do you need help understanding and completing homework assignments? Are you preparing for the math portion of a standardized test? Next, read reviews from current and former students. Find someone with proven success helping students achieve their goals. If you want help on an ongoing basis, decide what your budget is and identify the tutors who fall within your range. Ask if there are additional fees for travel, as some home math tutors include travel costs in their rates and others charge extra. Ask about session length and the tutor’s teaching style, and whether they also offer online sessions or group sessions. Finally, schedule a single session with each of the math tutors you think are best to see who is the best fit.

How much do math tutors cost?

Math is a subject that’s challenging for many students. Fortunately, home math tutors can help students excel in math by working with them in focused one-on-one tutoring sessions. The cost for math tutors varies based on the type of math, the expertise and experience of the tutor, and geographic location. Pricing may range between $40 and $100 per hour, depending on the math subject. As a rule, the more complex the subject matter, the more the math tutor will charge for the lessons. The cost reflects the math tutor’s advanced studies and the work required for them to be able to teach on the subject. Frequency can also affect costs. Students can buy packages of lessons for a lower cost per session than buying individually. Nationally, the average hourly rate for a geometry home tutor is $50-$60. The national average rate for an algebra home tutor is $40-$50 per hour. For generalized math tutors, the national average ranges between $40 and $50 per hour. More intensive standardized test prep studies and math tutoring average $70-$100 per hour.

How much does home tutoring cost?

Investing in home tutoring is an investment in your child’s future. Home tutors work one on one with your child to address their challenge areas and provide room for intellectual growth that may not happen in a busy classroom. The cost of home tutors depends on multiple factors including where you live, the tutor’s background and education, the subject matter, and how often the tutor comes. Test prep home tutoring is typically more expensive than single-subject tutoring. Here are some examples of average tutoring costs:

    • National average cost for an algebra home tutor: $40-$50 per hour.
    • National average cost for a French home tutor: $30-$50 per hour.
    • National average cost for a geometry home tutor: $50-$60 per hour.
