Great company! I had a rodent problem that I needed someone to take care of for me. John was on the spot and came out very quickly. Once he got here I explained what I thought were the problems. John was quick to climb in the attic and find that I had more than just one rodent. Being as I have small children and pets, I had lots of questions as to what he was going to be putting in the attic and such. John was very helpful and answered all my questions. He explained everything in great detail as to what he was doing and how he was going to do it. Even belter was that everything was going to be safe for the little kids and pets. He even patched the holes and showed me everything he was doing. Any questions I had, he answered in a very professional manner and in great detail. I knew everything that was going on and why. I will not use another pest control company and will tell everyone I know about him. Very honest and upfront about everything. Even though the price was more than he quoted me, he was very upfront about why and how much. Great person to work with! Great job Eco-Guard and John!

Jeremy did an excellent job with my initial Pest Control Treatment. He made himself available quickly (within 24 hours) to meet my desired time frame. He was careful to explain to me what was being done and shared with me things to look for in the next few months. He also did not require a contract which I appreciated. The only thing I would request is that more than the indoor perimeter and outdoor lower tier was covered in the treatment. Other companies service for wasps and beehives in the corners or entry ways, patios, etc. I would certainly use Tex Pro pest Control again as the price was reasonable for the work done.

I have little over half an acre by the lake, and it gets really wild, really fast. Brant's responded almost immediately to my inquiry for pest control, and have since kept in touch every month to see if I need an additional treatment. When I asked them to kill some weeds on the property, Bryan not only personally came out on his way to a family trip, but did a complimentary second spray the following month on areas that were being stubborn. Great people, great prices, great service. I highly recommend!

Just had a bug and rodent control treatment done from Smug Bug services. Wade is a real professional and gave more time and detail than any other company or pest control services that I have used in the past. His knowledge and expertise along with a very reasonable price was worth having the service done. You can reach him on 214-985-3590

Josh responded promptly to my request and followed up with a site visit within 2 hrs. He quickly evaluated the situation and reassured me the animal trapped in the chase of the chimney could not get into my living space. He went outside and made a quick evaluation and came back explaining the whole incident from a professional standpoint. As darkness was upon us, he promised to return Sun. as soon as he completed his first job. True to his word, he returned and put up wire barriers completely around the chimney and chase opening and sealed the closures with silicon to prevent rusting. He checked the inside of the fireplace and determined there was no way to access the chase from inside or outside, so he put up a plastic barrier and left me with some 'rat be gone' scented liquid , with instructions, should the decomposing body odor get into the house. All his work was done in a most professional manner and with a pleasant personality. His pricing was very reasonable and I plan to have him return in the spring to handle my normal pest control . I have also referred him to two of my friends.

He spent well over an hour servicing our home. I think I made the right decision and so far I am very pleased. I would highly recommend Falkin Pest Control.

Kory provided excellent customer service. Every time I had a question his responses were very prompt. He was flexible to work with my schedule. On the day he arrived to perform the pest control, he was professionally attired, very pleasant, professional to work with. Above all his pricing is so very reasonable, honest and value added. He was thorough and sincere is rendering the service he promised. It is very great to see that at times when American customer service is, unfortunatley on the decline, Kory is a shining example of how each of us can uphold these values and be the change you want to see in and around you. I recommend Gradeur Pest Control very highly to true seekers of quality service. Awesome Job Kory in going the extra mile in Customer service.

We have monthly mosquito services performed by Certified Termite & Pest Control. The technicians are always very friendly and knowledgeable. We live very close to the lake and have a large amount of vines in the backyard. Thanks to the mosquito services provided, we are able to fully enjoy our backyard and pool. The last technician to service, by the name of Max, even pointed out a water leak in our front yard due to a broken sprinkler line. He treated the puddle with a product that kills mosquitos until we can get it fixed. Thanks to the excellent service, friendly technicians, and competitive pricing - we will be staying with Certified for a long time!

Savior Termite & Pest Control is a great company with amazing service. I have had them treat both my previous apartment and the home I now currently live in. I have had a great experience at both locations. I have never had to call them for a retreat because bugs came back after a treatment. When Savior shows up the bugs leave. If you have a bug problem they are the ones to call

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How do you get bed bugs and how do you get rid of them?

The increase in bed bug infestations in the U.S. is a result of increased travel, lack of knowledge about preventing infestations, increased resistance of bed bugs to pesticides, and ineffective pest control practices, explains the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). It’s easy to mistake bed bugs for carpet beetles or similar-looking bugs, so infestations are often not noticed when they first occur. Prevention tips include keeping areas free of clutter, regularly washing sheets and mattress covers in hot water (and don’t forget to wash the laundry bag, too), and vacuuming regularly and safely disposing of the sealed vacuum bag. Not everyone has reactions to bed bug bites, which also may be mistaken for the bites of other pests such as mosquitoes, so timely bed bug extermination depends on identification of bed bug activity. If you notice physical signs of an infestation, contact a bed bug extermination professional as soon as possible to learn about chemical and non-chemical (such as heat) treatment options. An integrated pest management plan may incorporate one or more methods.

How do you get rid of termites?

The best way to get rid of termites is to act fast. Termites are a problem that will only get worse — and no matter how much you want them to, they usually don’t magically move out on their own. There are three main types of termites: drywood, dampwood and subterranean. Drywood and dampwood termites sneak through cracks in your exterior paint, nail holes, and gaps near windows and other openings and begin to eat through your wood. Subterranean termites enter your house from the ground up by creating mud tunnels. In all cases, they survive by eating the wood of your house. The type of termites you have can steer the treatment plan.

Methods of termite extermination include fumigation, use of pesticides, and use of natural elements that are poisonous to the bugs. The extent of your termite infestation will help determine the treatment method. If you have drywood or dampwood termites that have infiltrated all aspects of the wood in your home, the pest control pro may recommend enclosing the whole house in a tent and gassing the termites via fumigation. If you have subterranean termites, often the entire footprint of the home must be treated by drilling liquid treatments into the slab or foundation of the home to exterminate the colonies. In any case, once you see signs of termites, it’s time to take action and call a pest pro.

What do pest control companies do?

Pest control companies handle all aspects of bug, rodent and animal extermination or removal. Pest control professionals visit your home or office to identify the type of pest that is troubling you and offer various treatment plans — complete with clearly outlined costs. Once you and the pest control company have a signed agreement, the pro will begin treatment. Pest treatment can range from the use of spray pesticides and gel bait to live and/or kill traps. There are a wide range of types of pesticides, many of them nontoxic for humans and other small animals. This means you may be able to have your home treated for pests without harming nearby wildlife or your dog and cat. The pest control pro will carry out the treatment plan and, depending on the service agreement, provide follow-up such as emptying traps, inspecting access points, or reapplying pesticide spray if the pests return. Costs will vary based on the type of pest you are having removed and the extent of the infestation. The average national pest control price range is $80-$130. From a minor bedbug event to an entire home termite infestation, pest control companies have got you covered.

How much does it cost to remove a mouse?

If you have a mouse in your house you’re probably quickly researching pest control costs. Mice, although tiny, can transmit diseases and also get into your food and leave unsanitary droppings around your home. If you have seen one mouse in your house, it’s likely that more have taken up residence in your crawl space, attic or basement. The national average pest control cost is $150-$200. Costs can vary depending on whether you need to get rid of a population of living mice or just dispose of a dead mouse (or full traps), how extensive the mouse population is, and where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pest control cost for removing a mouse:

  • $150 for initial trap setup and inspection (and sealing of entry holes).
    • $50 for rodent removal service calls and emptying of traps. This visit can also include identifying and sealing entry points that were not sealed on the first visit.
  • Rodent extermination: $110-$350, depending on how heavy the rodent population is, whether the mouse infestation poses health risks, how many entrances exist and how many rodent bait stations are needed.

How much does it cost to kill bed bugs?

The cost of bed bug extermination depends primarily on how widespread the pest infestation is and how many rooms need to be treated. Other factors that can affect bed bug extermination costs are the amount of clutter in the location, additional furniture that needs to be treated, and construction of the home. Pest management professionals often have rates for room treatments, which can vary based on these factors. As an example, a pest management company treating a 10-by-15-foot room with light infestation might charge clients about $250, while the same size room with a heavy infestation and large amounts of clutter might cost the clients $300-$400. Clutter and heavier bed bug populations mean more product and longer labor time for the workers. Rates will vary from company to company, and from region to region, but the national average bed bug extermination cost is $320-$400. Bed bug heat treatments are an alternative way to exterminate these pests. Heat treatments are typically charged per square foot and tend to cost more than chemical or non-chemical spray solutions. Although effective, they are not usually recommended for occupied spaces, as the extreme temperatures can damage televisions, window dressings and other home furnishings.
