Immediately responded to my request to repair a Bosch Dishwasher. Showed up exactly on time for the appointment. Extremely reasonable charge for his services, couldn't ask for a better rate. He was very conscientious about the quality of his work and would not quit till the issue was resolved. He seemed very honest and personable. I will definitely keep him in mind for any future jobs.

We had a fabulous experience with Appliance Repair of North Texas. They were available to come the same day and fix our broken dishwasher. Isaiah and the office staff were all a pleasure to work with and I will absolutely use them the next time I have an appliance issue!

We had Roy to fix our dishwasher and he did an excellent job. He changed the part that wasn't working and it didn't work because of a specially difficult setting issue. He came back and after some research he managed to fix it. He saved us buying a new one and was very professional. Highly recommend his service.

Bob came out and diagnosed our dishwasher as being terminal. He offered to reduce his service fee, and made some very helpful suggestions for finding a new dishwasher. He asked that we let him do some work for us before rating him, but I would like to give him this rating based on his attitude and helpfulness. I am sure that we will rate him very highly on the next project he helps us with, because we will definitely have him out for our next winter project.

Greg was great, he really knows his Samsung appliances. We called him for our dishwasher and while here he also fixed our Samsung fridge. I had been cleaning up water for a month and never could figure where it was coming from. He knew exactly where it was coming from and how to fix. He also fixed the dishwasher same trip. I would hire him again and will be telling all my friends about him. Very easy, nice, and knowledgeable.

I have to say that these guys are great. Awesome service. Our Miele Dishwasher seen better days. First it became too noisy. It was manageable at first, but when it start leaking, we understood that it was the time to call an expert. Guys at 911 Appliance Repair were able to schedule the appointment next day to diagnose and repair the dishwasher. The technician that arrived on the call was professional and efficient. He was able to fix both of the problems. Their service were reasonably priced and left us happy. I would recommend 911 Appliance Repair not only for dishwasher repair, but for any appliance related problems.

Matt helped me with repairing a bad dishwasher connection and some minor repairs on connections that the original electrician had done incorrectly. He made sure everything was done safely and correctly. He is reliable, thorough and reasonable in getting it done right, without trying to upsell the job. He's the first electrician on my speed dial.

Our dryer is now working which is great! There were some communication issues, but these wouldn't prevent us from using them again in the future. The technician went to wrong business so we weren't able to get them out the day we initially scheduled. He came out the next day with an estimate, which we approved, but then had the wrong parts (they said due to old dryer but estimate said "all parts in stock"). He didn't come on Saturday as scheduled for install, but came out early Tuesday after the holiday and got it working quickly. All in all would use them again but with the expectation that it probably won't be same day service or all parts in stock, as advertised. We do have an old commercial dryer and not many people work on them, so we were thankful for them. Communication could have been better - we felt like we were chasing them down to see where they were - but pricing was fair and our dryer is working great again!

We purchased a Sapphire Glow dishwasher a few years ago, and I have never been happy with it. It has a poorly designed bottom dish rack. If you over load does not work right, and if you put small items in it they fall through. The other day my teenager overloaded the dishwasher even though I have told them many times not to do that. So the rack came off it track again, and I tried to jam it back into the track, and I bent the wheel assembly and now the rack will not slide in anymore. So I called up the good people at Dallas Fort Worth Appliance Repair and set up a repair call. They said they could have somebody out to our place in 2 days which seemed acceptable to me. The technician George told us he had seen this problem before. He said we could order a new rack which is pretty expensive or he could try to bend the wheel back and make it work. After talking to him about my dishwasher I decided I wanted to buy a new dishwasher and get rid of this massive lemon, but I like to have time to research products before I buy them, so I told him to see if he could just bend the part back and get it to work temporarily until I can get a new Dishwasher. Not only did he get us up and running quickly for very little money, but he gave me the number of a guy who got me a really great deal on a new washing machine that works great and was very reasonably priced. I am so happy I called Dallas Fort Worth Appliance Repair. I cannot thank them or the technician George enough for their help, and their honesty.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does refrigerator repair cost?

Refrigerator repair generally costs a fraction of the price of a new fridge and shouldhave your appliance up and running again in no time. The problems your refrigerator is experiencing and the parts required to fix it will affect your repair costs. Where you live can affect labor rates, which will raise or lower your costs. Here are some examples of average costs:

  • Diagnostic fees: $50-$100. Repair pros often have a service call fee or diagnostic fee to account for their time traveling to your location with all their tools to assess the problem. If you choose to have them repair the fridge, most pros then credit this fee toward your repair cost.
  • Parts: $20-$500. A new compressor averages $200, an icemaker $300, and computerized components such as touch screens and control boards average $300 or more.
  • Basic repairs: $180-$400, including parts. This price range can include repairing the evaporator or fan motor.

How long do fridges last?

Refrigerators can last 10 to 20 years, although the most common lifespan is about 13 years. If your fridge is acting up, consider its current age when deciding whether to invest in repairs or buy a new one. Common easy fixes include faulty thermostats, dirty coils and clogged drain lines. Thermostats and dirty coils can be generally be fixed for an average cost of $80-$100. Clogged drain lines, which usually cause leaks, can often be fixed for under $200.

More complex refrigeration repairs such as replacing a bad compressor or replenishing low refrigerant can cost more because of expensive parts and higher labor. A new compressor costs an average of $200, not including labor. If labor is an average of $75-$100 per hour, and the repair takes 3 hours, you’re looking at roughly $500. Consider the age and purchase cost of your fridge; investing $350 in a $600 fridge that is 8 years old may not be cost-effective.
