It was my first time using Thumbtack - My wife and I decided to look for a personal trainer. After going thru some choices that were narrowed down to our liking, we shot off rate/quote request to about 5 personal trainers nearby. To start off, what I liked about Zak was that I got a call from him IMMEDIATELY. Showed that he was serious, so I took the call and had a brief discussion on what we were looking for. Moving on to first meeting.. First meeting was free and during that time, he really took the time to get to know our needs, strengths, study our posture and make corrective suggestions. After the session, prices were discussed and on we go. There you have it - Simple, no hassle or obligation to we were signed up for his training. For people who are looking for a personal trainer, I know this can be a virgin territory. It certainly was for us. Zak understood that and took us from the basics. He offers nutrition programs (which is included in the rate for training - Can't be that). Nutrition program is designed for each individual and not that one plan fits all. My workouts are far different from my wife's workout. He has tremendous knowledge in what he is doing and is a dedicated student in learning more himself. Very respectful and a humble individual he is. We get weighed in end of every week and progress is recorded. You can really tell that he cares for your goals and not like other trainer that I've heard horror stories about, who only care about the money. With Zak, you are not just his paycheck - he truly cares for the well being. Zak being a powerlifter, he has shared many tips on better posture, better workout, and muscle recovery remedies. It's unusual for me to write a review online for anything, but when I know that I'm working with the best and with a person who is honest and genuinely cares for people, the least I can do is to pay it forward and let everyone know about what Zak has to offer. I have had few personal trainers in my quest to reach my goals in fitness for the past 3 years. So, this is not a new year resolution for me. Recently, my TWO!!!! different personal trainers have become a little hard to establish a routine. My overall progress in strength, cardio and flexibility have stalled. Having a bad lower doesn't help, but with a KNOWLEDGEABLE professional trainer, the sky is the limit. Enter here Adam Smith. He is what I was lacking to reach the next level. Adam was quick to communicate, easy to schedule and was on time. Today after my first session, I can tell I finally got a Professional Trainer, that knows his trade. The session was ALL fun, full of new challenges and most important safe to my lower back. The Kickboxing part was an eye opening fun experience. Having a Karate background, I felt back at home. Can't wait for the next session in 3 days. I guess that the saying: "Can't teach an old dog new tricks", doesn't apply to me. At 55 years young, I am ready to learn and kick some serious........ ;-) If you are stuck in your fitness journey or are looking for a lifestyle change, don't waste time and call Adam. I've worked with personal trainers over the past 25+ years. Hands down, Adam Smith is the best I've ever trained with, ever. I'm grateful for the opportunity to train with him over the past 5 years or so. He is extremely knowledgeable about everything fitness, and also nutrition (including specific diets like vegan, etc). As a matter of fact, it was Adam who helped me to identify Power Lifting as a competitive sport, and then trained me to win my 2014 SoCal Gold Medal. Adam has helped me transform my body by decreasing fat while increasing my muscle mass!! I never know my body could look like it does today. He really cares about the well being of his clients, and has become a dear friend over the years. Having Evan as my trainer has changed me. Unlike some trainers, Evan's creativity in strength training is different from the rest, not to mention his positive fun personality really keeps you motivated and in check. He really cares about his clients healthy well being. I went in weighing 155lbs; by going to his group class a few times a week and eating right I dropped down to 127lbs. Losing 22 inches of fat. Evan, Joey and Ted are GREAT trainers! Each one of them knows how to motivate you to give your maximum effort during a workout. Workouts are challenging and fun, and you NEVER do the same workout twice. Ryan was my personal trainer for several years. I felt that I needed a trainer to 1) keep me motivated, 2) teach me how to use the equipment since I had not ever worked out before and 3) help me learn and understand all of the requirements to build and maintain a strong, healthy body. Ryan met all those goals. During my time with Ryan, I got much stronger, I learned technique, and always stayed motivated. What kept me working with Ryan is that during our sessions, he was 100% focused on me and my workout. (In my years in the gym since, I've seen way too many trainers use their cellphones while they were training someone, and it appeared that their client came second.) Ryan was 100% positive all of the time. If he ever had any personal or professional issues, he never showed it around me. Ryan is very knowledgeable about kinesiology, the human body and he understands what technique(s) will provide the best results. He was always changing the workout routine to ensure constant muscle growth. I also relied upon him to assist with nutritional requirements. My time with Ryan was some of the best years in terms of rewarding physical growth. I have since moved to another state, otherwise I would most likely be working with him again.

My trainer is always on time and she works me intelligently. I describe her that way because I am a recovering paraplegic and probably do not fit a "normal" description when it comes to exercise. Also she keeps the workouts interesting, never the same boring routine over and over. My diet has taken a large change due to dietary monitoring and coaching. With the combination of trainer and dietitian I lost 15 pounds in three months. I can easily say I am getting what I paid for.

Randy worked with my husband, who is a stroke survivor, from May, 2013 until October, 2013. It was a bit different than what a personal trainer normally does. He performed arm and leg stretches, along with teaching him and myself what exercises we could do at home to keep his muscles from tightening up. Randy went above and beyond what was expected by doing research on what would help a stroke patient, since it was outside his normal realm of expertise. They met twice a week at an apartment gym. Randy was always on time and very professional. He is obviously very knowledgeable as a personal trainer and has a great rapport with his clients. We initially hired Randy because of the proximity to our home, his reasonable rates, and his willingness to try something different. Over the course of working with Randy, my husband was able to increase his strength and his flexibility as much as his physical condition allowed. We would definitely work with Randy again and strongly recommend him to anyone!

Great location? Check. Great trainer? Check. Great owner who truly cares about her clients and their well-being? DOUBLE CHECK! I could have gone to any "traditional" gym and fallen victim to overcrowded classes, overzealous trainers and overpriced services...but I didn't. Instead I chose a small, but mighty fitness studio that is tailored to my needs and supports my efforts in making me the strongest I can be. I hired Stephen as my personal trainer and I can’t say enough positive things about him. He is very high energy and just what I needed as a trainer to push me and teach me about proper form and technique. He is very educated on nutrition and physical fitness! He emphasizes proper nutrition and we discuss meal plans daily to help me lose weight quickly. Every session I get a great workout, feel wonderful after and I have honestly seen results in about two weeks considering the training I am doing with Stephen and the diet he has put me on. Private atmosphere w professional trainers that will design a specific program to fit your needs. Whether you're a beginner, intermediate, or professional athlete you'll be amazed w the knowledge and help you'll get here. Individual, couple, or small group training. They have it all!! Difference between Get FHIIT and other places, private means private (not a gym full of people) and true knowledge and education well beyond just personal trainers certification. Get your scale and your muscles moving in the right direction. If they have an opening, you should try them out. If they are no longer taking new clients, get on the wait list. It's worth a try and worth the wait. Personally, I drive 45 minutes one way, the results are worth my time.

Marlon has been great! He gives you all the tools you need to reach your goal. He's not going to harp on you for not sticking to a nutrition plan, but that's because he knows it's ultimately your choice in what you want out of it. He gives you information to help you start choosing healthier options even if you know absolutely nothing about nutrition (which was the case with me). Very well priced for what you get. I saw results within the first week by buying into his nutrition plan and it was more than enough to motivate me to stick with it. I went from feeling tired and groggy by the end of the work day to having energy all day--within 2 days. A big part of that was Marlon's advice about how to nourish myself so that the hard work I do in the gym continues after I leave. His at work out plans for the days you don't meet are easy to do anywhere if you don't have access to a gym and they'll make you sweat! On top of a great trainer, he's a fun person to be around. It's almost too easy to get up for a 6am workout knowing he'll have me laughing and sets me up for a good day! I did sports in high school but college and the work life took its toll on me. Marlon was able to get me back to how I used to feel. If you're looking for a trainer, he's the one you want.

Marlon made a huge difference in my fitness journey. When I came to him in fall of 2014, I was overweight and had a knee injury (runner's knee). He helped me lose over 20lbs and with careful attention to my needs he helped me completely cure my knee problems with strength-training and stretching. Alix is an excellent trainer. Not only is he knowledgeable about fitness, he listens carefully to understand what your goals are and what limitations you may have, if any. I'm very serious about getting into shape. I asked Alix to push me hard to the point of complete exhaustion where I couldn't go any longer and now I'm seeing results! He will show no mercy but as the saying goes, "no pain, no gain." In the past I've had trainers that don't pay much attention to you, but not Alix.
