Thoroughly impressed with the training Bella received at VK and by Mike and Dee. Their facility is clean and totally dedicated to the best training a dog can receive. I definitely will recommend them to my friends.
Wow, it's a miracle is all I can say. I have two dogs that desperately needed help. A Weimaraner that was tough as nails and a Beagle that was soft as butter. My Weimaraner had zero obedience and was out of control in every aspect of the word. My Beagle was just the opposite; she would walk behind us, shy away from people and was very timid. I was very concerned about the training process. J.R. put me at ease by fully explaining his process and that the results that would come more quickly by using reinforcement and then following up with lots of praise afterwards on my big dog. I have to say the results are amazing; nothing short of a miracle really. My dog is so much happier, I am so much happier and I can't believe what a few sessions has accomplished. I only wish I had found him sooner. Oh, my little dog, the Beagle; she is progressing nicely too. He found her "happy place" and then worked his magic and brought her out of her shell. We could not be happier and strongly recommend J.R. with Green Timber Training. I will be telling all my friends that need training about the only dog whisperer I know.
Amazing! Very beneficial for my 5YO boxer, he went into the 3 week training (being shy and a bit rebellious) and came out a very well behaved dog. I'm very grateful I found them and very thankful to Oscar for the training he's provided not only to my baby but also to me. Highly recommend Barks 5th Avenue. Great experience from the first time I requested info to the time the hand over happened. Grooming and daycare was also very good. Chowder will definitely be visiting daycare there and next is puppy training for my boxer. Old dogs can learn new tricks!
I met Nick when he worked for American Success Dog Training. I put my two dogs (Rottweiler and GSD) through their basic on leash obedience course. Nick and the crew at American Success transformed both of my dogs in just one short week! In addition to providing an excellent training foundation, they met with me several times after their in house training to ensure that I was adhering to their training regimen. I had the pleasure of working with Nick on several occasions, and was impressed by his skill, professionalism, and easy-going demeanor. He and the crew at American Success always made themselves available if I had a question or needed anything. I would highly recommend him! Benjamin S. Cincinnati Oh.
Justin is THE BEST trainer with off-leash!! I just completed the four lessons of basic obedience with my 3 year old Standard Poodle. With Justin's quiet and confident persona, I can honestly recommend him and his methodology without hesitation. I was somewhat skeptical about the whole e-collar experience, the guarantee, etc., but all that Justin states on his website is true. I had a leash pulling and off-leash control problem that was easily remedied. Most important, my dog accepted the training and he now enjoys to heel (on or off leash) when out on a walk! Give Justin and his K9 Off-leash training your attention... with his knowledge and expertise of dogs/training, both you and your dog will be so thankful! (I only wish I had found him sooner.)
When I first spoke with Kristen and I told her all my concerns, I thought she would tuck tail and run. But she did not. Prior to placing my listing on Thumbtack, I had spoken with quite a few trainers and the feeling I received from them was not about loving the dog so much as the money. It seems the ones that cost the most cared the least. I had enrolled Sophie in training at Petsmart and that turned out to be a waste of time, money and effort. Petsmart training. My conversation with Kristen was a bit lengthy and I could tell that she has a genuine love for dogs. I was still a bit nervous after all we were strangers. The Pre-Kristen Era: Sophie is an 8 month old Lab Mix. She is full of energy and walking her was a nightmare. The pulling, the walking from side to side and jumping. Of course bolting through the door and running through house like a wild banshee. She ignored my calls to come and our walks were strictly potty walks; not to mention the money I spent on puppy pads. I kept potty pads in every room of the house. Handling her was becoming more difficult with each passing day. I knew I had to do something, so I decided to give Kristen a try. I was a little nervous, I didnt know much about her other than what I learned from our conversations and read on the site. She picked up Sophie on September 4th and she would be gone for two weeks. She sent me pictures and progress reports. When Sophie returned on September 19th, I was blown away. In just two weeks, Kristen transformed Sophie into a well behaved young lady. She taught her to walk up the stairs gracefully. She sits at all doors and waits before entering or exiting, she is not all over the place when we walk. I stop, she sits. She lays on her spot oblivious to what is going on around her and most of all she has not had an accident in the house since she has been back. It is amazing what Kristen did in just two weeks. I suspect if she stayed with her longer, who knows, Sophie could possibly prepare gourmet meals or at least help with the laundry. We met at a location of my choice and we went through every command until I was comfortable with handling her. She did not bring Sophie back and leave me on my own with no guidance. She sent me a list of command words and instructed me how to use them. She contacted me to ask me how it was going and to address any problem areas. I am so glad I chose her. The only regret I have about the entire process; I did not do it sooner. She is the best because she loves what she does and loves dogs. Seriously, if you are experiencing behavior problems with your puppy or dog, contact Kristen and in just two short weeks, you will be amazed at the results.
There are not enough stars to show how Incredibly happy my family & I are after our experience with Lichtig's K-9 Academy. Bryce & Angie were very professional, knowledgable & always positive with our dogs. You can tell that they genially care about the animals. They offered us private at-home lessons for 2 young GSP's that are now the pleasant family dogs we've always dreamed of! In only 6 short lessons our dogs are able to follow ALL basic commands, walk without a leash & stay until released. We now have the tools & knowledge we need to continue to help our dogs along in their training. They are always available to answer any of our questions. I would highly recommend Lichtig's K9 Academy to anyone looking for a great dog training experience.
All I can say is OUTSTANDING JOB! My service dog, still a puppy in training, was a spaz and and I was having thoughts that she wasn't the right dog. After training, she came back totally laid back and obeyed commands. I don't know how they transformed my pup, but they did. I highly recommend Tri-County K9. You can see how good she is on her Instagram page @hopetheservicedog
Barbara is great!! I would highly recommend her. She has taught me so much on how to have my dog listen to me and follow what I say. I have known Barbara for a 1 1/2 yrs. I first met her when she was an instructor at a pet store. Riley is my first dog and I thought he was only supposed to be a dog. I soon learned that I had no control over him. Walks were difficult with him pulling and trying to run after other dogs and people. Barbara showed me in easy steps how to get Riley to do what I asked like no jumping up on people or not pulling during walks, etc. After training classes ended I began to attend her agility for fun classes. It seems like every class I am learning something new about my dog and what he can do. I now have a dog that will listen to me (well most of the time ) and I am so proud of him. We are still a work in progress but I couldn't have done it without Barbara gentle teaching and encouragement.
Aedan is an amazing dog trainer!! I have a red heeler who I adopted at three years old. He used to bark constantly at anything that moved. He also would pull on the leash outside and would try to run after bicycles (Maybe he thought they were cattle?). It was hard to interrupt his barking or chasing behaviors. Aedan was able to get him to focus on just me when we were outside and to even get him to obey off leash!! He is able to not react around people on bikes now and he has great manners now! Tucker, my dog, has also been sprayed by a skunk twice. Aedan was able to help Tucker focus on activities outside rather than going after small animals. He is a wonderful trainer! I highly highly recommend this guy if you need a dog trainer!
We have been working with Catherine owner of Cat's Canine Academy Dog Training and she is amazing. We have a Giant Schnauzer puppy and he was out of control. The first visit Cat made she had our Thor following and watching her like he was on a dog show. We could not believe it. Our puppy is close to 60 lbs at 6 months old and Catherine is working to teach my family how to handle him. Her methods work. We can now walk Thor down the street without being dragged. He still is excitable but we now we know (with Catherine's method) how to avert his attention to get him to follow our commands. With only a few lessons with her Thor can sit, heel, down, and come on command and he does it for us when she is not here. Cat's Canine Academy Dog Training is just wonderful. I can't say enough how pleased we are.
Tricia was a blessing training our new dog. We found a stray tied to a lamp post in our neighborhood. We had to help the dog so we took him in. He had been abused and Tricia help us. When we first go Bear he was very frightened and peed in the house. After her instructions, which we carried out to a T, he became an excellent dog. It took some work but it was well worth it. I would use Tricia again for any of my animal training or behavior needs. She also does boarding which I will use in the future.
We believe that the best way for you to learn about our programs, and for us to understand what you are looking for in a training program, is to set up a free demonstration and consultation. This gives us the opportunity to meet you and your dog, evaluate the temperament, and see what your training goals are, and what specific behavior issues you're dealing with. This also gives you the opportunity to meet us personally, and see what our dogs can do. By doing this, you get to see firsthand what we have to offer you and your dog. Hope to talk to you soon! We loved working with Kasia - she was sensitive to our dog's needs and her particular behavioral issues. We felt that she was always very professional and genuinely cared about the progress our dog made with each session. Kasia takes the long-view on dog training and really makes sure that things stick and emphasizes the "homework" that is necessary to work with your dog in the beginning. We saw major progress in our dog's behavior, self-confidence, and reaction time within just a few weeks; in five weeks our "rescue dog" quickly became our best friend.
It is undoubted, dogs are in love with their owners as the owners are with their dogs. The question is: Who is the master? I have been studying primal behavior for just over fifteen years, and from it I have learned binary (most basic) communication. Understanding how to talk to your dog is the most assured way to make him happy in your home. I correct the following: * Aggressive and threatening behavior (Yes, I do handle Pit Bulls) * High prey drive (Yes, it can be corrected) * Fighting * Fence fighting * Incessant barking * Food protectiveness * Territorial-ism * Obsession * Begging * Separation anxiety * Destructiveness * Pulling on the leash * Lagging behind * Fear or terrified Behavior * Running away * Over excited behavior * Jumping I teach communication on the dog's level so that he trains himself. You will see results immediately, with lasting results within two visits (contingent upon client participation). References are available upon request. It is never too late to start.

I offer positive dog training for special dogs like yours. I teach you to train your dog using the same style they use to train dolphins (you can't spank a dolphin). We work on sit, stay, come, down, and walking nicely, as well as the problems of house training, jumping, barking and chewing. Sometimes, dogs have a few more other things going on. We can talk about your training options. I offer a flat rate ($50/session and sessions are 1 to 2 hours), because I want you to be able to relax, listen and feel free to ask as many questions as you need (as opposed to discovering you have 10 more questions and 5 minutes left before you owe more money). I taught at multiple pet companies for 8 years before branching out in 2007. I am a certified professional dog trainer (the test is offered by an outside group, as opposed to a school or company who employs me certifying me).
