I decided last fall that I would start to do something for myself and attend Katy total body fitness camp. I couldn't have made a better decision. Terry has been there to motivate me along the way. He is an excellent trainer and full of knowledge. He provides excellent communication in regards to making sure that I am doing what I should be. If I start to come less there will be a text message. The boot camp is exciting and different every day. It is definetely not boring which is one of the reasons I continue to attend. This is a very challenging and motivating boot camp run by Terry Randle!!

Isreal is the first trainer that I ever have and I could not have picked a better one (out of 5 I reached out). I started out with no fitness training experience and a dormant life style. He worked with me patiently with much consideration to my personal needs and life style change. Business side, he showed good ethics and very honest in handling billing etc. He was able to keep the activities interesting enough to keep me motivated. He is not the cheer leader type but his style fit me well and made me comfortable from the beginning. At the end of 4 month training, I have lost 20 lbs and 2 sizes with minimum diet effort. I started out with having to drag my feet to the gym to now I look forward to the session at the end of the day. I feel that I have more energy to play with my kids and am proud of my strength during my everyday activities. For example, in a recent trip to Hawaii, I was able to hike a mountain with much ease, which would be a very daunting task for me in my previous experience. That feeling is very good. I still have a long way to go to reach my goal but I am more confident now that I will get there having Isreal fuel started my process. What really impresses me the most about Jose is that he genuinely cares about you as a person. He is very attentive to any pain and discomfort, and he does exceptionally well at finding alternative exercises to work around that trouble area. He does well to address both short-term and long term goals, and will help you form a comprehensive plan to meet those objectives. Jose understands the body well and keeps informed of different exercise fads. The best advice I can give it to keep consistent in your training with him. Do not get impatient or frustrated if you do not see immediate results. It took me about 3 months before I really saw any noticeable differences myself (others noticed them before me), but after I hit that point, it was a steady increase for me. Give him a shot if you want a great trainer and to have fun while training too.

During my quest to find the best trainer out there for my needs, I found Alex Hernandez. I knew from my research that the qualities I was looking for in a trainer included experience, education, personality, the ability to communicate well and professionalism. I met with/spoke to several trainers through Thumbtack and outside of Thumbtack that unfortunately were lacking one or more of these qualities until I met with Alex who, as it turned out, had all the qualities I was looking for in a trainer. It also didn’t hurt that he offered a couple of free sessions. (I know this is a rather wordy review but if you are like me and prefer to do your due diligence before hiring a trainer, I think it’s worth the read.) Experience: Yes, having years of experience is great, which Alex has but what I most valued about Alex’s experience is that he had been through the same struggle of losing weight and figuring out how to establish and maintain a healthier lifestyle as I am going through now. Because of this, I felt Alex had a unique perspective as a trainer and would be able to better understand my struggle with losing weight and be better equipped to assist me through that struggle. Experience was also very important to me as I was coming to the table with several injuries that any trainer I selected would have to have the know-how on how to handle those injuries during training while still allowing me to make regular progress. After a couple of complimentary sessions with Alex, there was no doubt he had the necessary experience to help me. Education: In addition to having over a decade of experience in personal training, Alex also had the appropriate credentials. One of these credentials was particularly important to me, his NASM certification as a Weight Loss Specialist. (FYI - You can check a trainer’s credentials on the NASM website.) Beyond his certification education, Alex also educated himself on me. Alex took the time to ask me questions and learn about me, what I wanted to accomplish with training, what injuries or medical issues I had, what concerns I had, what my day-to-day life was like and what my nutrition looked like. For me, this meant Alex was asking all the right questions to educate himself on how best to help me. Personality: If you’re looking for a trainer who will yell at you like a drill sergeant, then Alex isn’t the trainer for you. If you’re looking for a trainer to handle you with kid gloves and baby you, then again, Alex isn’t the trainer for you. If you are looking for a happy medium between the two with a few jokes and quotes of encouragement thrown in, then Alex is for you. Alex is encouraging yet pushes you beyond your limits just enough every time so every session always contains progress. When I first started working with Alex, there was a particular exercise that he had to modify in order for me to complete. Recently, I was able to complete this exercise, multiple reps, without modification and he was more excited about it then I was. Who wouldn’t want a trainer like that, someone who is excited for you and your progress. Communication: Alex has been great about communicating with me since day one. I tend to have a lot of questions and Alex has always been very good about answering those questions for me whether during our training sessions or via text (in a timely manner). Unlike some trainers, he does not brush off your questions. Alex will regularly check on me after a session to make sure none of my injuries were exacerbated due to the session. It was important to find someone I could communicate well with because I knew my injuries would be a constant issue and I needed to be comfortable enough talking with my trainer and expressing when I felt the pain from a pre-existing injury was too much and/or when I felt I was just incapable of doing an exercise due to my injuries without feeling I was being judged by my trainer. I have found Alex to be very easy to communicate with. Professionalism: The last quality on my list was professionalism. I have had trainers who were physically inappropriate with me, I have had trainers who would talk badly about their other clients either in front of me to another person or directly to me, I’ve had trainers that would spend majority of my session texting/playing on their phone and paying no attention to me at all. I have never had any of these issues with Alex. During our training sessions, he has always conducted himself in a professional manner making sure the focus is always on me and my training. I honestly believe Alex is worth every penny as a trainer. I’m very happy I found him, that I have had the opportunity to work with him and that I now know what it is like to work with a real trainer. **As of this review, I have worked with Alex for 8 weeks. **I have lost inches and pounds and have gained muscle and strength. **Several aches and pains I had prior to my training with Alex has dissipated. (I used to get terrible ankle and shin pain walking to and from work every day which has subsided substantially since training with Alex.)

I have been working with Alex for just a little while, two weeks, but I had good reasons to choose him as my personal trainer (I met two trainers before deciding on Alex). First, he is very serious about his job and dedicated. Second, working full time as a trainer gives him the chance to perfect his style and fully dedicate to his training sessions and clients. Third, I like the fact that he is quiet and focused on training. I find his style pretty unique, a combination of strength, stretching, gymnastics, and yoga. Also, I had many questions and not only he answered every one with patience but with knowledge as well. If there is something that I really do not like is when I get an answer that lacks knowledge. I love my workouts at LMSL Training. The workouts are never the same and are very effective (you'll feel the burn after working out with him). I remember first working out with Jerell I would use 10lbs for dumbbell set. Now I'm using 25lbs when doing dumbbell sets, which I thought I would never get to this point. Jerell is very personable and helpful when coming to his clients. He shared with me different routines I can do when I'm away from his gym & gave me tips on what to eating throughout the day. Darren has been my personal trainer for about 10 months now and I am so grateful that my wife discovered his profile on Thumbtack. I wholeheartedly endorse him for anyone considering embarking on a new fitness goal or even for seasoned athletes looking for a jolt if their existing routine has gotten stale. Darren not only excels in the physical aspect of training, but he also brings a balanced mental component to our sessions. As anyone can attest who's recently started to workout after a long layoff, the hardest part is starting. What they also don't tell you is that maintaining your workouts is probably the next hardest hurdle to tackle. But that's where Darren really shines. Under Darren's tutelage, I've become accountable to myself and I really look forward to my sessions to see what new exercises we'll incorporate or to try and beat my weightlifting bests. I would classify Darren's workout management as 'adaptive'; that is, he can take what he's given in terms of available equipment, or if the gym is too crowded on a given day, and craft a workout routine that is challenging and never boring (he takes what's he's given and makes lemonade from lemons). I think that boredom is responsible for more broken fitness promises than any other factor. With Darren as my trainer, I've never been bored and almost a year later I don't think we've ever repeated a workout! With Darren as my trainer I've been steadily increasing my strength gains while steadily shedding excess weight and improving my cardio fitness. Darren also provides nutritional counseling, rehabilitative training, and he will travel to your home or business for your workout needs. Ashleigh was chosen from a bundle of personal trainers to be our official trainer for our Real Women, Real Results Houston weight loss contest for I-REMOVE. She did wonderfully! Each of the ladies she worked with had so many amazing and great things to say about her too. All together they lost 48lbs across 4 ladies and that is wonderful! She worked with them on an individual basis and even put together a home routine for one contestant that couldn't make sessions. She did everything in her ability to help these ladies succeed and worked with various levels of fitness too. I've been weight training for 25 years and have a pretty good understating of fitness & nutrition. After my first session with Will, I knew immediately that I was working with a guy that had a very high fitness & nutrition IQ. Will takes an inside out approach, the right approach, to your body, and although the weights and reps seem at first a bit entry level, you will leave each session knowing that you just got worked out in a way you never have. He takes the time to show and explain how to perform all excersises to make sure your form proper. If you are not comfortable with a certain movement, he will find a way to break it down and help you until you are comfortable with the movement. He is not a one size fits all instructor and tailors the workouts to your needs. I have been training with Will for several months and he has even helped me rehab my arm after I injured it during a Spartan Race. I have been very pleased with my progress.

I have just started working out with Tony and I have to say it has been a very rigorous and fast-paced training so far! I really enjoy the fact that Tony is knowledgable, and is a skilled trainer. I also know I needed someone who was going to motivate and push me and Tony is doing that! For him it is about the substance of the training sessions meaning he is not just interested in running throught the session just for the sake of doing so.. he really takes his time to ensure you have the correct form, and are correctly completing all of your sets. My workout with Nora was amazing. He pushed me to my absolute limit and didn't let me give up. He was there on time and the workout took maybe an hour at most. He helped me work on my cardio, abs, and strength. I couldn't have asked for a better trainer and would definitely workout with him again.

Khanh is very knowledgeable and I thoroughly enjoyed working with him. In our initial meeting we discussed my personal fitness goals and he tailored workouts to my fitness level and those goals. Whether your goals are weight loss, increased stamina and/or strength, better core strength, etc. or just general overall fitness, he can tailor a program for you. Also, I found him to be very safetly conscious in the sense of avoiding injuries and pain, while at the same time pushing me enough so that my exertion levels were a high enough level for me to reach my goals. I also always found him to be sociable and friendly; easy to work with and talk to.

I've been training with Alan for about 4 months now. Since I've started I've lost about 25 pounds and 6 percent body fat and I'm still going strong! He's amazing and he constantly pushes me during our sessions to be better. By training with him and sticking to your meal plan and cardio the weight just falls off, and he also helps you tone your body. I'm tall, and skinny. 6'3 174lbs. I don't care to get huge, I just wanna be able to fit shirts, like a beach bod. I've tried working out a few different times, and fail to find the drive do to the need for instant gratification, so, a good (positive) motivator would be a must. I'd like it if they could teach me proper work out meals, nutrition as well.. But not an absolute must.
