Before starting guitar lessons, I did a thorough review and research of all the guitar instructors in the area. By far John is the best instructor out there. John is a top-notch teacher and is very energetic and passionate about the guitar and loves teaching this instrument to others. He is very well organized and systematic in his teaching approach. John's style of teaching enables students to improve their technique very quickly and to learn a wide variety of guitar theory. He is very approachable and friendly, while also bringing a very professional approach that he has honed over many years of teaching guitar. John is also very responsive via e-mail or phone. He takes the time to learn about each individual student. He is a great teacher both for adults or kids. John is obviously a very talented guitarist himself, and he teaches in a way that is easy to learn from. He is very friendly and encourages a very low pressure learning experience. His structured classes allow the student to obtain constant progress and to see a clear line of what specifically is needed to improve upon. He takes a professional yet fun approach to his lessons. John tailors each student’s learning in a way specific to each one, and his vast knowledge of multiple styles of teaching books and learning aids is fitted to each student as needed. It is definitely not a one lesson fits all approach for him. He will gauge you through your level of expertise and assess your short and long term goals, whether as a beginner or as an advanced player. John then creates a custom lesson plan for each student. I thoroughly enjoy every lesson and see definite and concrete results each week both in my playing ability and in my overall understanding of music. One of my goals, in addition to increasing my performance level, was to actually learn how to read the music. In less than a month, through John’s instruction and teaching, I was on my way to a firm understanding not only in my ability to read music but to play sight reading, something that once existed only as a dream. With John’s help my confidence in playing is at an all-time high, and I without question see myself becoming an excellent guitar player in time with his help. I strongly recommend John as an instructor to anyone at any level interested in becoming a great guitar player and learning more about guitar music theory. - RJW

Awesome from the start. I decided in my 50s that it was time to finally learn guitar. I took some lessons from another instructor, but we just didn’t jive. Tried Zach and my search is over. I learned more in the first lesson than a half dozen from the other guy. Zach’s best qualities are that he is patient and he listens to you. Great combination for a beginner. He already has me playing several chords and simple songs after two lessons. His approach to practice keeps me motivated. My frustration level decreased dramatically and I’m finally excited about learning again. Save yourself some time and give Zach a call!

I have two boys and Austin has taught them both at their school and out of our home for three years. Austin is an amazing teacher. My kids love him. He's super cool and super nice and great with kids. He teaches one son electric guitar and teaches the other a little guitar and a lot of voice and singing. He helps them perform solo performances at their school twice a year and comes to their performances and helps them. When they have a lesson at school my kids feel like the coolest kids around because their teacher is young and fun. All the kids at school gather around to watch and give my boys "thumbs up" signs. Austin sends them recordings to practice and emails them messages and notes about what to work on. Many times he will stay late in the lesson working with the kids or jamming with them. He even showed up at my 9 year old's birthday party and "jammed" for the kids. They LOVED it. BEST MUSIC TEACHER EVER.

From easy 3 chord riffs, to head exploding super solid snake guitar solos, Tye can teach it all in a way that is compatible to his clients. He has a unique way to adjust to the needs of his clients, and teach in a very effective charismatic fashion. I would highly recommend for beginners or advanced guitar players. ROCK ON!

My daughter has been taking lessons from Mr. Olson for about two months now. She has made amazing progress so far, from nothing to playing chords and a few songs. Mr. Olson is able to redirect and focus my 7 year old to keep her on task and learning the lesson of the week. He certainly has the patience to teach young children. His lessons are tailored to each student to keep them progressing. As with any child, my daughter was very enthusiastic when she asked to learn guitar, but that interest waned after the first few weeks after she discovered that this takes real work to learn. Mr. Olson has managed to keep her progressing and brought back her interest in continuing her lessons. His style is encouraging and corrective without being negative, always praising the students efforts. He also has an amazingly advanced knowledge and understanding of teaching theory for an instructor only in his early 20's, much better grounding in education fundamentals than many seasoned and highly degreed teachers I know. His level of understanding of how to teach shows in the progress my daughter has made and respect she has for Mr. Olson. He is also a very competent and accomplished guitar player in his own right. For anyone looking to learn guitar I highly recommend you check out Daniel Olson, I could not recommend him highly enough.

I've taken guitar lessons before with a couple of different instructors. I can honestly say that I learned quicker and more enjoyable with Gustavo! He has an amazing gift for music. I would recommend him to anyone wanting to learn to play.

I specialize in teaching beginner/intermediate guitar players. I have 12 years of experience. I can provide a child guitar if your child doesn't have one yet. All of my students have been successful as long as they practice for the 30-45 minutes I recommend a day. I can travel to you and have a flexible schedule. I have a 3-year-old son who plays ukulele and will start guitar as soon as he's big enough. I would be happy to help your child start on their music career.

At WOA, we repair tube amplifiers, reverbs, and solid state devices. We etch and design custom-effect boxes and program solid-state chips. A second side of the business is centered on 3-D modeling, computer programming, and video game development. WOA also provides guitar lessons specific to live performance of any style, using practical examples to side-step the many issues that face the live, performing guitarist. Our approach is based around increasing the comfort zone of the musical instrument and practical maintenance through the use of The Guitar Handbook; a harmonic approach based on 12-tone Western tonal theory, written music composition, and also non-Western organizational systems; training in aspects of computerized music from the basics of analog, digital, MIDI to Ableton Live to Sibelius to Band in A Box; how to use samples/be a DJ; how to integrate audio into computer programs and video games using programs such as Unreal Engine 4; using practical physics to design unique new musical instruments, and how to amplify and digitize analog instruments; learning how to hear with the listening book; and finally learning to publicly improvise in real time and the many methods to developing the immediate melodic acumen that separates those who appear professional from those who shouldn't be on stage for another two years. Custom tube amplification, tube and solid-state effects design, and 3-D design and prototyping of unique parts such as knobs are available.

Learn how to play the guitar in 7 days (the ultimate beginner's guide). As a parent, these may be some of your concerns: • Money/cost • Schedules - How are the lessons going to fit in with your child and your schedule • Having to travel to the lessons • Whether or not your son/daughter is motivated enough to stick with the lessons (you don’t want to spend money on a guitar and lessons for them if it’s not something they really want to do) After gaining years of guitar teaching experience, I try to address the above issues as effectively as possible; I will do the same for you. My name is David. I’m a student (22) and have been playing guitar for a little over 10 years and have been teaching for a little under five. I have had students from as young as 5 years old to as old as 35 years old, although most of them fall under the teenager category. I have a very practical approach to teaching guitar because I know from experience that most students respond best to this approach. When first beginning to play the guitar, kids want to learn how to play songs, not how to read music. The theory is not the best place to start, although some of the basics are necessary. I get an idea early on concerning why the student wants to learn guitar and adapt my teaching where necessary. Younger kids are going to be taught different material than older kids; it’s that simple.
