I contacted multiple contractors for major home renovation in Pearland. Out of all those Juan Perez JLD services stands out. He took his time to explain everything, provided me with places to buy material at wholesale prices and did a great job. He did my wood flooring, tile, carpet, kitchen/bathroom quartz, vanities, garage export, patio tile etc. His whole team is amazing. I am very happy with his services and glad that I found Juan Perez and will definitely used his services in the future. Don’t hesitate to hire him for all your home renovation needs.

I had a side garage door installed and I was extremely pleased with the results! Not only was it installed perfectly, but he also painted it too. I would have had to paint the door myself if I had chosen another contractor. He also put on the locks. The quality of work was outstanding and the price was great too!

We hire Ultima Pressure Wash Painting & Home Services for our internal wall painting, garage wall and floor painting, front door and garage door cleaning and painting, power wash for outside wall and concrete ground plus drive way, also minor roof repair. They did a fast and nice job with a reasonable price. What's more important is that they are very serious about making their customers satisfied. They came back several times to fix any minor things I brought up no matter how busy they were. Some items I brought up are beyond contract agreement, but they just helped without hesitation and extra cost. So if my friends or I need any home project done in the future, they will be the first choice.

We had Delcid's Painting and More complete 3 projects for us. They replaced a fence, replaced an area of ceiling that flooded in a spare bedroom, and repaired a leak in the roof. They were Wonderful! On time, no added surprise expenses, cleaned up all areas, and great communication. I felt very comfortable having them in my home when I was at work. We have already had him look at 4 new projects. This was one of the absolute best experiences I`ve ever had with a contractor! The roofing repair work was exceptional and everyone was so professional and friendly. We were given so much good information and recommendations for future additions and cost saving items we should install ourselves. Rider and his team really care about their customers and will be my first call for any future repair needs and we will also be hiring them in the future to replace our entire roof. They really should be your One Call, you won`t be disappointed!

I had all but wonderful experience with PES construction on their roofing job. The quote was detailed with all the explanation of what to expect and what's the pricing of the labor and materials used(breaking down to what materials used further) and the men were really punctual and worked all day and finished the whole roof in 2 days. I am definitely recommending them to my friends. True professionals with neat job.

HD Roofing & Construction did a great job on fixing the numerous problems around my house. They sealed leaky windows, roof leaks, loose tile, missing brick, patched, and painted walls with issues. They did very good work, were very courteous and conscientious about their work. Quality was good and they were very careful around our furniture. Also willing to come back and fix anything I wasn't perfectly happy with. I will definitely use HD Roofing & Construction again and have already talked with them about future projects.

I received three quotes. Mr. Garcia's quote was much less than the other two quotes due to the amount of shingles that were necessary to reroof my house. I told him the other roofing contractors quoted more shingles than he was and asked what if it takes more? He said the difference would be on him due to a wrong estimate. When he came to sign contract, he remeasured my roof and said he was correct in his estimate. Mr. Garcia saved me some serious $$$$. I was so happy with the one day roofing job, I am hiring him to do more work for me as well as my neighbor is hiring Mr. Garcia to do work for him as well. Thank you Robert Garcia for you honesty, integrity and one day service...!

Recent storms left me with a leaky roof. Joe came out quickly, assessed and gave a quote before I even had return calls from other roofing companies. Job was done sooner than promised. I will use Allens to install a new roof in a few years.

He was a true professional. So rare to find someone who does seriously high quality work, is affordable, on time (early actually) and just an overall great person. I am looking to create more work so I can hire again. I have worked with many contractors/tradesmen/plumbers/electricians and this guy ranks towards the top.

I had several local roofing total replacement estimates for my home. I placed a request for quotes on Thumbtack and received a response and quote from Campbell Roofing within several hours. The quote was very much in line within priors quotes. I discussed the quotes with a representative of Campbell and scheduled a site visit. The visit and quote was impressive, I contracted with Campbell roofing to have the roof replaced. The work was scheduled and completed within 1 week of the agreement including written warranty . This is exactly what I desired, the workers were thorough and thoughtful of my property, they moved all plants and yard items out of harms way, they were conscience of our coming and going by leaving pathway clear. The clean up was excellent without roofing nails all over. I would recommend Campbell Roofing based on my experience. The job looks great and went well.

“After Hurricane Harvey we had several representatives from roofing companies and we became extremely disheartened with their lack of knowledge and noncommittal attitude. Agustin Gomez, the owner of Houston Roofing Experts, met our home insurance inspector at our house and pointed out the many areas inside and out what needed to be done. We got a new roof as well as complete coverage for the damage inside the house. During this process, Mr. Gomez walked us through everything...to say that he was COMPLETELY thorough would be an understatement. He returned our phone calls in a timely manner and once again explained everything...he even returned our calls after he was paid. The work was as promised and we are very pleased with the results. Yes...we highly recommend him. His ethics, work and product standards are head and shoulders above the rest.”

As someone who flips houses for a living, I have dealt with many roofing companies, & I can honestly say that Roof Leak Specialists co. is by far the best roofing company that I have worked with. They are very thorough in their inspection process and they make sure that you as a client understand what you're dealing with and furthermore, their pricing is some of the best in the business from what I've seen. They give me reports, photos and everything necessary to know exactly what needs to be done & what I'm paying for ! I highly recommend this company!

Mike and Robert were great. Mike was the first contractor reply to my thumbtack inquiry. Within a few minutes we were on the phone. I had a short timeline and Mike came by the same day, gave me a quote and got to work the next day. He finished ahead of schedule and the work quality was great. Will use again in the future.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a standing seam metal roof?

A standing seam metal roof may be a strong, durable, safe choice when you’re considering metal roofing installation options. A standing seam refers to the raised seam where the sheet metal roofing panels join. Traditionally, shingles and roof panels lie flush to the roof, making them more prone to rust or penetration by water at their seams. In a standing seam metal roof, the raised (or standing) seams run vertically from the roof ridge to the eaves, with no horizontal seams. In addition, the fasteners joining the metal panels together are concealed, providing even fewer opportunities for water or moisture to build up. The cost to install a standing seam metal roof will depend on the type of metal you select, the size of your roof, and the cost of roofing labor in your region. Materials will play a major role in your metal roofing installation costs. If you select standard galvanized steel, the cost per square (100 square feet) might be in the $150-$300 range, while a high-end choice such as copper or zinc could be between $1,000 and $1,500 per square. Here is one example of cost:

  • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.

Can a metal roof be installed over shingles?

Metal roofs are durable, environmentally friendly, safe and budget-friendly. If you’re considering an update, metal roofing installation doesn’t have to mean completely removing your old roof. In many cases, metal roofing can be installed over your existing shingles. Research building codes in your state, as many require that after two roofs have been installed, all roofing materials must be completely removed before a third roof can be put on. This protects your home’s structural integrity and your family’s safety. Carefully read contractor reviews and choose someone with extensive experience with metal roofing installation. One concern when installing metal over shingles is that over time, condensation can build on the shingles and cause the metal to rust. This will lead to rust around the panels, making them more likely to come loose in a storm. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000. The wide price range represents different roof sizes, different types of metal, and the cost of labor in different parts of the country — and can also include the cost of removing an old shingle roof prior to installing the metal. As a line item, the average cost of removing an old roof to prepare for installing a new roof, plus adding new roof decking, costs on average about $45-$75 per square (the pro roofer’s term for 100 square feet), depending on the pitch of the roof. Always make sure you have a clearly written contract and a warranty on both the labor and the metal.

How much does it cost for a metal roof?

Metal roofing installation is an attractive option thanks to metal’s long lifespan, hardiness and fire-retardant properties. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000.There are different types of metal roofs, each with their own installation needs and materials costs. Roof size also affects your metal roofing installation costs, as do regional labor rates. Roof size is measured in squares; one square equals 100 square feet. Here are some examples of the average cost for a metal roof:

  • Standard metal roof: $120-$150 per square to start, including materials and labor
    • A 30-square roof (a 3,000-square-foot roof) could cost between $3,600 and $4,500 for a typical three-bedroom home.
  • Snap-Loc metal roof: $200-$225 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $6,000-$6,750.
  • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.
  • Tuff-Rib metal roof: $250-$350 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $7,500-$10,500.
  • Mid-range metal roof package, including all accessories: $300-$500 per square.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000-$15,000.
  • High-end metal roof package — such as zinc or copper — and all accessories: $1,000-$1,500 per square.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $30,000-$45,000.
