Rox happen to call us one day after another roofing company had just called due to a recent hail storm then a wind storm. We agreed to meet with him. After his inspection, he determined our house and garage roofs had hail and wind damage. He initiated the call to our insurance adjuster and set up the meeting. All of us met a few days later. After the insurance adjuster's inspection, he also concluded we had roof damage and a claim was made. After we picked our roof shingles, the material were delivered from McCoy's. Rox's crew finished the job in two days. David, the crew leader, along with Jesse the Project Manager made it easy to work with. The crew added a missing roof ridge, a bathroom vent pipe, and a range hood vent. Before we had the bathroom and range hood venting into the attic. Now both are correctly vented to the outside. After the job was finished, Rox came to make his final inspection. Afterwards, he suggested I secure the bathroom vent pipe from the inside and I noticed he sprayed paint all our vents to match the roof shingles. After he finished, we made our first of two payments. Rox never asked for upfront money. We're grateful to Rox for initiating the process to replace both roofs. We would have never known we had roof damage without his expert experience and workmanship.

Finally got a roofer after months of search. Everything went well. The workers are well experienced in their trade. They even pointed out some faults from previous roof installation one of those is the rubber collar sealing the vent pipe which will become loose after few years letting the water seep through, so they put a generous amount of sealant around it to prevent the problem from happening. The pricing and quality are competitive. Mr. Henry Rodriguez even offered extra work for no extra labor charge. He came when he said he would, which was at my request, he was very courteous and professional, got up on the roof, in the attic, brought his own equipment, did a thorough job, took video to show me the work as he was doing it on the roof, explained things to me, and cleaned up after himself. I was very pleased and thought he did a great job for a great price. He charged me $120 for all of this, because that's what he quoted me. I think someone else might have been tacking on charges as they went, and I know in a lot of cases, you pay a hefty fee for after hours service. Couldn't be more pleased. Would definitely use him again.

Andy, David, and Greg were absolutely instrumental in making my family' dreams come true! They were able to do in just a two weeks what would've taken others months to get done! They were able to completely remodel my kitchen, scrape, resurface, re-acoustic all the ceilings and walls in my home which includes vaulted ceilings and repainting the entire 1,300sq ft home. While also getting a new 35yr roof installed! I couldn't believe it! All this in just 2 weeks! They delivered an incredible service at a competive rate! My wife and I couldn't be happier! Thank you all so much! I'll definitely be hiring them again when I'm ready to renovate the exterior of my home!

They came to tape float and texture a hole in my ceiling that the plumbers made. They arrived on time and got the work done quickly. Owner stayed and supervised the workers. Asked for a quote on some roof work and never heard back that was the only disappointment that did not make this a 5 star review.

MG Remodeling was quick to respond to my call. They came to my house for an estimate when I asked and was prompt. They were able to complete the Roofing repairs the same day. Mitch was professional, very thorough and did what he said he would do. He explained all the work he was going to do, took before and after pictures, and completed the job with great care. I hired this company to replace our fence gates and repair missing shingles on our roof May 2014. The company reported to work as scheduled, they worked very efficiently and there quality of work was wonderful. I personally meet the owner and he was just as pleasant as his work staff. They did such a great job, I am planning to also have them replace a entire fence system, install a new roof and paint our entire exterior of our home. When you own a home, everyone needs 1 good company that can help with the upkeep (repairs an replacements) and their price for the job they already reformed was decent and I did not feel the price to be overpriced. I and the hubby are really happy to find them and hope to keep them,...

David and his crew did a great job on my driveway. I liked his work so much I also asked him to install a door and build my front porch. He also installed roofing in that part of the porch and it was recently tested with the heavy rain we had in San Antonio, we had no leaks and no issues.

I had a roof ridge installed to aid in keeping the house cooler . I also had the gas water heater exhaust pipe brought to code...cutting a hole through the roof and having the pipe plummed above the ridgeline as explained by Mike during the estimate. They performed an excellent job and backed by a warranty. Great job.

I replaced my roof with this company. I live in Autumn Place Converse, TX. Luis was present during the whole construction project making sure things were being done properly. I am very please how my roof looks. He installed a GAF Shasta White shingles. He dealt with all of the invoices and paperwork needed for the insurance claim and I was able to recover my second insurance payment. He also even checked my attic after work completion to make sure there were no leaks. Awesome everything. Thanks

My husband and I just recently bought another rental property and needed several repairs on the duplex. We found that we were going to need 4 different people, at 4 different times to make-ready. Fortunately, we found Mitch and he was able to repair everything himself. He worked on some electrical issues, on both bathrooms and repaired both bath tubs. He repaired the baseboards in the kitchen and installed a new dishwasher. He did some work on the roof and backyard as well. Overall, he did an amazing job with everything, and best, we got all our repairs taken care of at one time, instead of 4 different people at 4 different times. I would highly recommend using Mitch for your home repairs. He's professional, accommodating and does an amazimg job!

        About

Tinsley Roofing provides re-roofs for existing homes and new construction. This includes shingles and standing seam metal roofs.

        Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a standing seam metal roof?

A standing seam metal roof may be a strong, durable, safe choice when you’re considering metal roofing installation options. A standing seam refers to the raised seam where the sheet metal roofing panels join. Traditionally, shingles and roof panels lie flush to the roof, making them more prone to rust or penetration by water at their seams. In a standing seam metal roof, the raised (or standing) seams run vertically from the roof ridge to the eaves, with no horizontal seams. In addition, the fasteners joining the metal panels together are concealed, providing even fewer opportunities for water or moisture to build up. The cost to install a standing seam metal roof will depend on the type of metal you select, the size of your roof, and the cost of roofing labor in your region. Materials will play a major role in your metal roofing installation costs. If you select standard galvanized steel, the cost per square (100 square feet) might be in the $150-$300 range, while a high-end choice such as copper or zinc could be between $1,000 and $1,500 per square. Here is one example of cost:

        • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
          • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.

Can a metal roof be installed over shingles?

Metal roofs are durable, environmentally friendly, safe and budget-friendly. If you’re considering an update, metal roofing installation doesn’t have to mean completely removing your old roof. In many cases, metal roofing can be installed over your existing shingles. Research building codes in your state, as many require that after two roofs have been installed, all roofing materials must be completely removed before a third roof can be put on. This protects your home’s structural integrity and your family’s safety. Carefully read contractor reviews and choose someone with extensive experience with metal roofing installation. One concern when installing metal over shingles is that over time, condensation can build on the shingles and cause the metal to rust. This will lead to rust around the panels, making them more likely to come loose in a storm. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000. The wide price range represents different roof sizes, different types of metal, and the cost of labor in different parts of the country — and can also include the cost of removing an old shingle roof prior to installing the metal. As a line item, the average cost of removing an old roof to prepare for installing a new roof, plus adding new roof decking, costs on average about $45-$75 per square (the pro roofer’s term for 100 square feet), depending on the pitch of the roof. Always make sure you have a clearly written contract and a warranty on both the labor and the metal.

How much does it cost for a metal roof?

Metal roofing installation is an attractive option thanks to metal’s long lifespan, hardiness and fire-retardant properties. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000.There are different types of metal roofs, each with their own installation needs and materials costs. Roof size also affects your metal roofing installation costs, as do regional labor rates. Roof size is measured in squares; one square equals 100 square feet. Here are some examples of the average cost for a metal roof:

        • Standard metal roof: $120-$150 per square to start, including materials and labor
          • A 30-square roof (a 3,000-square-foot roof) could cost between $3,600 and $4,500 for a typical three-bedroom home.
        • Snap-Loc metal roof: $200-$225 per square to start, including materials and labor.
          • A 30-square roof could cost $6,000-$6,750.
        • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
          • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.
        • Tuff-Rib metal roof: $250-$350 per square to start, including materials and labor.
          • A 30-square roof could cost $7,500-$10,500.
        • Mid-range metal roof package, including all accessories: $300-$500 per square.
          • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000-$15,000.
        • High-end metal roof package — such as zinc or copper — and all accessories: $1,000-$1,500 per square.
          • A 30-square roof could cost $30,000-$45,000.
