We wanted tutors who could help our A student be best prepared for the SAT/ACT. A regular class would have wasted much time reviewing material she already knew. Nancy and Lee were able to use our 8 sessions to review common mistakes and test strategies. They even graded her "homework" and communicated with her in between sessions. Their enthusiasm, academic proficiency, professionalism, flexibility and great location (minutes off I-20, gorgeous residential area) made them an excellent choice for accomplishing our goals.
I needed a math tutor for my daughter. It was suggested to me to try Thumbtack! We found a tutor and my daughters math grade has gone from21 to 78 (Algebra 2).
Samara was my tutor when I was in 8th grade. I was studying to get into a private high school and I needed help preparing for the entrance exam. Samara primarily helped me study for the two math exams that were in the test, but she also helped me with the vocabulary/English section. I am not a big fan of studying for exams in my free time, but Samara made our time together fun and stimulating. She helped me maneuver through the tricky waters of algebra and geometry, and I was surprised to realize that I actually enjoyed doing it. My entire family grew to love Samara and we all loved when she came over to tutor me. She helped me get into private school and I am forever grateful for her help. Samara is a phenomenal tutor and she is simply a pleasure to be around. I highly recommend Samara for any tutoring needs you may have because she is the best.
Kristin was a life saver for tutoring for college algebra! Highly recommend her! Will continue to use her for other subjects as well. She really cares that you learn and takes the time to help to figure out what and how you learn or where you need to improve.
Michael is nothing short of fantastic. He is an outstanding tutor: professional, patient, thorough, reliable, and of course extremely smart! I would (very) highly recommend him to anyone needing an Algebra II tutor.
Lee is friendly, flexible and always encouraging. My son enjoys going to him for tutoring.
As a college student, Algebra II had me stumped the first week. Pam came onboard quickly and efficiently and answered so many questions I had, from basic terminology to solving equations. I will definitely use her again. Thanks, Thumbtack, and thank you, Pam!
He is fantastic! He brings and enthusiasm to the tutoring that engages my son. My sons grades are great too. I highly recommend him!
My Son has been tutoring by Ms. Laura Schrengohst for his 4th grade school year. I love the way She deals with my Him because my Son got ADHD syndrome even as a mother I myself find it hard to help him with his homework. Her thoughtfulness and patience brought him the love of learning. He got good grades in math and less struggle in reading and writing as He always did in his previous school years. I would recommend Ms.Schengosht .

We are not in it for the money or the fame. We put our money into the stuff that matters like educational materials and not in a fancy place or fancy advertising. The low-overhead keeps the tuition low so we can pass on the savings to our students. We are here to help our community, our hometown. With that said, we differ because we care. We have dedicated ourselves to helping everyone receive the help they need to succeed in life.
I have been a certified, highly qualified teacher for over 30 years. My areas of specialty include reading, writing, proofreading, Spanish, English, Biology, and Life Science. I will teach you tricks for remembering, and how to "do it yourself" which, after all, is real teaching. I love tutoring because I get to tailor-make the lesson just for you!
