The job was a surprise Valentine's Day dinner for my wife. The personal chef arrived and was able to answer all my questions either at my house or via email prior to the event. The food was spectacular and I will not hesitate to hire Mermaid Catering again.
I hired Brandon as the personal chef for my wedding on May 31, 2014, and I can honestly say that without him, my wedding would have been a disaster. In four months' time, my original venue and catering vendor was unable to produce a decent menu within our budget. When pressed, she became hostile and unprofessional, reducing me to a state of tears over the phone. Highly distressed and at my wits' end, I made the best decision of my wedding-planning process, asking Brandon for his advice. I wanted to know what my options were with less than 3 months before my wedding, if I found a new venue, could I possibly manage to have decent food and drink there as well? If not, and I was truly stuck with the original venue, how could I move forward from the current situation? And of course, once Brandon was involved, the situation improved exponentially because he wouldn't stop going above and beyond. He calmly assured me that I wasn't being a bridezilla, that no business owner should ever treat a customer, or anyone, that way, that I should be a happy bride, not a frazzled one, and that one way or another everything was going to be wonderful because he was going to make it his personal mission to make it so. He gave me options: if I wanted, he could operate as my intermediary so that I never had to speak to the original vendor again, or, if I wanted to start from scratch with a new location, he would make sure there was food and drink. With this new-found support, I found the confidence and resolution to move things to Lee Hall Mansion. Because our guest list was going to be less than 100 people, Brandon offered to take the event on, even though weddings are a little outside the traditional purview of a personal chef. Lee Hall is a historic house from before the Civil War with quite a few challenges to cooking: there are no kitchen facilities; in order to ensure the safety of the house, they have quite a number of regulations about the use of open flames; and, to top it all off, they only have one power source outside the house. Brandon took on these challenges as if they were nothing! He met with the venue to make absolutely sure he understood the situation. He made sure all of his equipment satisfied their regulations. He planned our menu based on foods that could be prepared in advance, yet be deliciously reheated. He did all of the prep work out of his own kitchen when no other was available. He personally met with my parents to make sure they were comfortable with all the plans. He helped us choose plates, cups, and serve-ware. Brandon even had us over for dinner one night so we could sample his style of cooking before the big day. One of the stereotypes of weddings is that you won't get a chance to eat. Just about everyone told us to make sure we ate plenty during the day because we wouldn't get to at the reception. But I'll tell you what after Brandon had us over for dinner we made damn sure we got to eat at our wedding. It was so freaking delicious! I'm pretty sure we will be talking about the chicken alfredo and the ham until we die. Everything worked out absolutely perfectly the day of! Brandon was there on time, the appetizers were ready on time, the entrees were ready on time, the hot food was hot, the cold food was cold, the staff were courteous, and Brandon was attentive. I could go on, but I could not have asked for anything better. I recommend him to everyone!

I have had the personal pleasure of being there for Chef Jones growth from the beginning of her journey. This is truly her passion and her calling which anyone could tell from her bright smile while she cooks. She not only cooks but she also teaches students her skills and encourages them to think of culinary as another route in life. The distinct tastes she creates for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are never to be compared. Even graduating to Baking Sweets sets these young chef levels above the rest.
Troy & Team, Its not quite one month later and we are still talking about the amazing presentation Personal Chefs in Box prepared for our reception. You were able to accommodate a lovely buffet in a private home that truly exceeded what I envisioned! Everyone working the evening maintained the perfect balance of professionalism with a personal touch and was more than willing to assist with all the minute details, even with last minute particulars I forgot to discuss ahead of time. The hot and cold courses were all delicious and left our guests raving. Judging from the amount of people who told me they went back for seconds and thirds, the seafood rolls and crab cake station were huge hits!! My personal favorite was the pork tenderloin and mango salad. Fantastic!! All told, we continue to receive compliments about how outstanding the food was and how enjoyable it was not only to taste a little of everything, but also to speak to you and listen to you describe the menu and preparation notes. I had a chicken and rice plate with, the best way I can describe it is, awesome sauce. If you don't know abiut chef bleu, you better ask somebody.
I have an overall marvelous encounter w Chef Reece from Ground Up! My sister and her bridesmaids are still raving about his humor and professionalism! The food was awesome, he even had vegan friendly hor'dourves !!! I gave a 4star review because he wouldn't give me his number! Ill definitely be adding Ground Up to my contacts!!

My wife and I had a wonderful evening at home thanks to Chef Gray. He brought all the food and ingredients, all the pots, pans and cooking utensils, beautiful table setting and glassware. Chef Gray took over my kitchen and prepared us a wonderful three course meal. He was the shining example of a highly trained professional chef. He transformed our dining room into a "Five Star Restaurant" with his personalized and attentive service. We loved having Kathi's help with our evening meals while my husband was deployed.
