Started guitar lessons a couple of months ago and couldn't be happier. I was self taught and played by ear. Didn't feel I had time for lessons. But, I was missing a lot of the fundamentals. The lessons have started to fill in the gaps and I'm learning a lot faster than before. I wish I started these lessons a couple of years ago. And way too easy taking these lessons at my place. Highly recommended!
I have taken classical guitar course from Mary for about half a year. She is a very professional and friendly teacher. She teaches people not only playing guitar, but also understanding and enjoying the music. I personally really enjoy the experience learning classical guitar with her.
I shopped several places before discovering Seattle Guitar Mentor. Awesome place to learn guitar! I've been taking lessons here since June 2016 and I'm having a blast! My son saw how much fun I was having with it and started taking lessons a couple months after me! Ryan is a great instructor/mentor and really cares about each student. A true professional with a real understanding of instruction techniques and music theory. I am learning so much and Ryan keeps it fun and interesting! Highly recommended.
Ken is nice and responded very fast to my questions, I purchased guitar lessons for my son birthday, and he was very professional about it.
Very professional teacher! Not a coddler. He has really helped my son improve dramatically! Definitely knows the guitar and how to teach it. Worth every penny!
Jonny has been giving my daughter guitar lessons for 2 months now and we love him! He's patient and fun and really brings out the best in his students. He's also flexible on our lesson schedule which in these busy times is definitely a plus! We look forward to many more lessons with him.
Started taking singing lessons with Maddy as a complete beginner. She's been so kind, patient, and supportive and is wonderful about explaining how the voice works. I highly recommend her!!
My daughter and I decided to take guitar lessons together, we were fortunate that Neal was contacted on our behalf and he immediately made a connection with us both and our one hour lessons each week ensued. We progressed from acoustic to electric, from Albert King, Taylor Swift, ZZTop, to the Beatles what a great musical journey for my daughter for over three and a half years. Heck we even played Don't Stop Believin' in a recital together!!! Great times, great music teacher, real human being; I wholeheartedly recommend Neal to anyone desiring guitar lessons for any genre of music, and any age group! Andy T.
I have been enjoying learning classical guitar from Mr. David OSuna since last year. My oldest son started to learn acoustic guitar from him one month before I started, and he recommended Mr. OSuna to me. Im very impressed by Mr. OSuna. I am a retired man and have a lot of time, but slow at learning. I have been learning every other week. It is a good schedule for me as I have enough time to learn the new challenges that Mr. OSuna assigns. Mr. OSuna has the answers to all of my questions and guides me excellently. My guitar skills definitely have increased in one year. So I would recommend Mr. David OSuna as a teacher of all kind of guitar styles and I am sure you will get excellent instructions in what you would like to learn.
Great first lesson as a new guitar player. Edgar is professional and talented. I'd definitely recommend working with him if you're in the market for a guitar teacher.
My 11-year-old son has taken 2 1/2 years of guitar lessons with Bob, and he's still as excited as when he started, if not more so. Bob balances what my son would like to learn with what he needs to learn--blending fun and cool with theory and practice in a way that challenges but doesn't overwhelm. Plus he's a delightful person. We've had an excellent experience with Bob and highly recommend him.
I was in search for a teacher who could offer the technical knowledge of music theory, yet with a mastery in fingerpicking technique. Liam was the perfect teacher, given his academic studies and years of playing genres of guitars. He is really positive, patient, and is constantly aware of the nuances of learning a new instrument (markings of a great teacher). He kept it fun and time passed in a blink of an eye! Looking forward to moving from spanish guitar to electric in the coming year!
Jake is a versatile guitarist musician and can play and teach classical music as well as any other style. He has a wide variety of surprising practice exercises, never boring, always different and fun. He always includes some part of the theory to explain the piece, to make it easier to understand. Jake would come into our house, always on time, and he was very professional in the way he approached me as a student, and I am very sorry that I had to quit my lessons. He charges less than other teachers I have looked at.
I've always been interested in classical guitar and classical Latin guitar and when I moved to Vashon Island, I thought that I would have to travel to Seattle to continue studies. Not so. Ken is classically trained, yet has a deep appreciation for almost any style or genre of guitar music. A very talented and patient fellow. My teacher for several years.
I am pleasantly surprised that I found such a good teacher, Ken Jacobsen, who even lives close to me. I have complete confidence in his ability to take my classical guitar training to the next level.
Love this school! It's been great experience for both of my kids. We've been taking piano and guitar lessons for last 4 years
Music teacher, woodwinds, guitar, keyboards, music theory, improvisation. First of all, Bob is one of THE most creative and energetic players in Seattle. His prowess on woodwinds, guitar, keyboards and other instruments is extraordinary! I have been studying music theory and improvisation from him for several years now. His instruction has literally taken me from beginner to a level of playing that far surpasses what I thought was possible. Not only is his instruction clear, intelligent and cogent, but he tailors his lessons for the individual at hand. He took the time to talk to me and see where I was musically.... He listened to me play and interacted with me and gave me confidence to move forward with ease... And it is this sense of confidence that I have achieved with Bob that has really made the difference for me. I highly recommend Mr. Antolin to anyone (beginner or seasoned pro)who is wanting to expand their knowledge of music, their instrument... to sharpen their chops and creative fire.
Sami is a wonderful guitar player and teach, as well as songwriter and vocalist. He takes a great interest in his students and helps to motivate them to their full potential. He's a fantastic musician and performer and can bring that experience to his students to help them grow in their performance abilities. He's a teacher who can work with beginners to get them up and playing songs they enjoy quickly, or work with accomplished players to improve their skills. A very caring teacher / mentor for his students.
