We wanted to schedule a cooking lesson as a birthday gift for our 17 year old son, who says he would like to attend culinary school after he receives a PhD in Chemistry, and Chef Rocco was truly a perfect match! Throughout the entire process (interviewing, scheduling, and instructing) Chef Rocco was friendly and attentive, and his calm and organized style set the tone for a very relaxing yet educational session of making pasta (and a sauce, of course!) from scratch. He continuously made sure that each of us had ample time and opportunity to practice every skill that he demonstrated. He provided both specific and practical guidance, and he delivered limited but valuable critique in a very kind, thoughtful, and encouraging way. While he instructed and engaged each of us in making the recipes, Chef Rocco not only tailored the lesson to our son's interest (and our goals for the session) but also treated our son as if he was already on his way to becoming a chef. Whether it is true remains unseen, but Chef Rocco clearly understands the essence and effect of good teaching. As for the homemade fettuccini pasta with fresh vegetable sauce? Magnifico! It was so good that we ordered the pasta attachments for our Kitchen-Aid mixer!
Great food and great experience. The two chefs working our holiday party couldn't have been kinder or more patient. Everyone loved the food, and the boss told me after they left that she would like to bring them back again next year. Thank you for a lovely experience!
Elizabeth is very reliable, knowledgable, and hardworking. She finds creative ways to alter recipes to my dietary requirements, and is always open to new recipe options. She tries to fit our schedule and is a pleasant person to have in our home!!!
GREAT SERVICE We got married yesterday and had to post a review immediately because Affordable Chef was so great! Chef Mark was punctual in replying to my questions before the big day, which, as an out-of-town bride, was very reassuring! At the last minute, Chef Mark was unable to attend the reception, but his on-site chef made delicious food, and the staff were phenomenal! There was one staff member in particular who took an interest in my Husband and I. She told us that we were her "celebrities for the day," made sure we ate appetizers before we walked in, escorted us to the buffet first, and was constantly checking on our drinks. She also took an interest in our families, leading many people to tell us how amazing she was! The bartender Chef Mark sent was also lovely, knew her stuff, and made our signature cocktails perfectly! All in all, a great experience and a company we would trust our next big event to!

Tonya was very warm from our first contact. She definitely listened to what I needed and quickly put together some ideas. She is very flexible and never lets on that you are taking up her (very precious and little) free time. The evening of the event: I finally met Tonya and Israel. They went right to work with very little direction from me (their staff had to do final set up of the tables). My guests raved about the presentation and quality of the hors d’ouevres. Dinner was beautiful, delicious, and service was lovely. Just to top it off, no other caterer/chef service we have used has left our kitchen and home in such great shape. I can’t wait to book the team again.
I wanted to create a memorable party for my boyfriend's birthday. I had a few ideas and Chef Mark amped them into a fun, interactive, boisterous cook-along! Everyone had a fabulous time with Chef Mark leading the way. I thoroughly enjoyed the evening - so rare for the hostess - because Chef Mark took care of everything. Much to my surprise, it was actually more cost effective to hire Chef Mark than to do it myself; with his expertise at selecting the menu, doing the shopping and preparing the food, the cost including paying Mark was less than if I had done it all myself. I've already recommended him to friends and hired him for my next party! You can't go wrong with Chef Mark - he's personable, professional and enthusiastic. What a terrific experience!
Megan provided a lovely vegan Italian meal for a family birthday party. The communication was very good and we appreciated her knowledge of the vegan diet that included protein and more than just pasta. The locally sourced ingredients were top notch.

I'm a bit smitten by the fact how easy and fun Nicholas makes cooking seem. Upon request, I asked him to prepare me a meal that is nutritious, yet low in calories but also easy to cook in order to fit into my busy schedule. He offered to provide beforehand all ingredients - which was much appreciated - as well as helpful hindsight during cooking what to look for when using fresh local goods and produce from farmer's markets. Overall it was a great experience meeting Nicholas, watching him cook and teaching me how to prepare a healthy meal, which collaborates well with my current diet and fitness lifestyle - definitely an experience worth trying out!.
