We hired Karen to do both the florals and day-of coordination for our wedding on 6/22/14. Karen was such a pleasure to work with and her pricing is extremely fair! Throughout the whole planning process, she was always accessible and had great ideas on decor for our art deco theme. Our flowers turned out beautifully and Karen and her assistant made sure all of our concerns were addressed throughout the whole night. Karen also stayed until the very end and packed up all the decorations and made sure all was good with the venue! I'd definitely recommend Karen!

Ricki Lewis at Special Event Genie did my daughters wedding and it was absolutely fabulous. Her total knowledge of wedding procedure for accuracy and follow up on all details was incredible and flawless. We were so happy the venue she found for our celebration, it couldn't of been any better. She totally understood the vision for my daughters wedding. Kept our budget concerns and even found creative ways to save us money. She went downtown to the flower mart and designed flower arrangements and bouquets saving 50% off regular florist fees. The flowers were amazing! She orchestrated the ceremony and reception seating and designed and set up the reception tables. She was there putting on all the finishing touches and more before we arrived to the venue. Provided a timeline for all vendors to follow which was seamless. Worked closely with the DJ and assisted with song order and selection. The event was a huge success and all family and guests raved about how much they enjoyed themselves, and how lovely and fun it was. The most important thing I have to say, is that the bride and groom were thrilled with the whole day and evening. They said it was the best day of their lives. Everything was perfect. I can't wait to use her services again for more events.

From her initial bid to her food and service, working with Tania was a great experience. She was very accommodating, responsive and timely. Most importantly, her food was delicious. Tania was also ery thoughtful, asking if we wanted extra food for leftovers, helping us by purchasing additional items and providing us with take away containers. I was looking for a "day of wedding coordinator" but not your typical one. Since the wedding was going to be small (22 guests) and in a public place followed by a celebratory wedding dinner in a restaurant, I did not need a full-service coordinator. All I needed was someone who could save the spot we wanted in Palisades Park, set up a champagne table and be there to accept the flower delivery. From the moment I spoke with Michelle of Flyte 44 I knew she was the person with whom we wanted to work! Very responsive and flexible, she agreed to our plan. While we did not need full-service, that's what Michelle gave us in every way. Knowing that we were working within a budget, she gave us helpful tips, advice and resources. As my daughter said, she kept things real. On the day of the wedding she arrived at our spot early and handled everything beautifully - organizing the champagne table and providing an arrangement, decorating the spot with petals, helping wrangle the ring bearer dog and people as well. She filled our champagne glasses after the ceremony and looked after everyone. Michelle is a professional and I'm sure handles the big gigs well. I'm just glad that she agreed to help us with ours as her genuine manner and her warm and caring personality helped make my daughter's wedding magical. And at the end, she sent us pictures she took of the celebration too. I would definitely call on Michelle again!!

Crystal was my day of event coordinator for my reception & she seriously went above and beyond for me from beginning to end she took everything into her own hands all alone with no help. Every message we had through email was very pleasant and she always had a quick response I was never waiting for her response email I was always the one she was waiting for lol sorry crystal 😆 Crystal is very attentive and she takes her time with all the details. I basically gave her a box of all my decorations for the reception & she made everything so beautiful I couldn't have asked for a better coordinator thanks you JenEventsCa they really do have the best customs service I highly recommend this company and especially Crytal Shum as your coordinator!!!!

Working with RTTO was such a treat! Heather was unbelievably patient with my and my indecision early on, and then managed to help me get a last minute delivery in despite not being the original plan. Not to mention my bouquet was STUNNING, and our original plan for an anemone bout was a little wilty so she gave me multiple bouts to choose from day-of. Amazing service and talent. I hired ixchel and salina for my wedding in November and may I say what an amazing job ... nothing went wrong nothing could have gone wrong. I would hire them Again o my event. The services that I got from them were 1 wedding coordinator, 8 waiters , 2 car ballet , 3 bartenders, flowers and I all my rental .. got everything from them:) totally recommend them

What does a wedding event coordinator do?

Pulling off a large, complex wedding or an elegant, small affair requires juggling myriad details, including the officiant, food, drink, wedding cake, entertainment, transportation, rehearsal dinner, photography, equipment rentals, venue reservations and more. A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. How much do day-of wedding coordinators cost?

A day-of wedding coordinator makes sure that every detail of your wedding day goes off without a hitch, and deals quickly and quietly with any last-minute emergencies. For many brides, the day-of wedding coordinator is their best investment! The average national cost for a wedding coordinator is $800 to $1,000. Although full-service wedding coordinators often charge a percentage of the total wedding budget, most day-of coordinators charge a flat fee plus an additional hourly fee if the day runs long. For example, a 15-hour day-of coordination costs an average of $600, plus an additional $45 per hour if the coordinator works more than the planned 15 hours. Another option is to hire a coordinator to manage the last-minute details leading up to the event; for example, 25 hours of month-of coordination costs an average of $1,200. Several factors affect the cost of day-of coordination, including the region, the planner’s experience, and the specifics of the wedding. If the ceremony and reception are in two different locations, expect to pay more than if they’re in the same place. What should you ask a wedding coordinator?

When you hire a wedding coordinator, you want to make sure he or she gets you and can execute perfectly your vision of your dream wedding. To find the very best fit, it’s important to ask these five questions:

  • Are you available on my wedding date? If the coordinator isn’t available on your big day, there’s no reason to continue the interview — unless you’re willing to shift your date to accommodate their schedule.
  • What’s average cost of most of your weddings? If the coordinator’s usual wedding is outside your range, they might not be the right coordinator for you. Ask whether the coordinator requires a minimum wedding budget. In general, the wedding coordinator’s fee should be about 15 percent of your budget.
  • What is your speciality? Some coordinators specialize in day-of coordination, some create the overall vision, and others act as a producer. Make sure your wedding coordinator provides the type of services that will most help you create the event you have in mind, such as selecting vendors and handling their contracts, or managing the guest list and invitations.
  • What are your ideas for fulfilling our wedding vision? After you describe your dream wedding — rustic or sophisticated, traditional or funky — the wedding coordinator should be able to suggest appropriate venues, menus, decorations, etc..

Do I need a wedding day coordinator?

Even if you’ve handled every detail of planning your wedding, you might appreciate having a day-of wedding coordinator in your corner. Usually, the coordinator meets with you a few weeks before your wedding to put together a detailed timeline of everything that needs to happen on your wedding day. Then, on the big day, the coordinator makes sure everything goes according to plan — and handles any emergencies that pop up, such as party crashers, missing tuxedos, late vendors, disappearing bridal party members and more. Most wedding coordinators also handle:

  • Distributing the wedding day timeline to all of your vendors.
  • Coordinating all of your vendors, including the photographer, florist and baker.
  • Conducting the wedding rehearsal.
  • Helping the bride and her wedding party get dressed and take photos.   
  • Checking floor plans, lighting levels, cake placement, menus, favors and more.
  • Collecting the wedding gifts and keeping personal items safe and accounted for.
