When I first decided to start working out with a personal trainer, I looked online for personal trainers in Pasadena. I ultimately decided to go with Hugo based on all of the positive reviews I read of him on here. Since the reviews initially helped me make a decision on choosing Hugo as my personal trainer, I just had to leave my own review. Before committing to train with Hugo, he offered me an introductory deal so that I could experience working out with him. The first couple sessions he evaluated my strength, endurance, and overall physical ability. Once my fitness level and goals were established, Hugo set up a training program and nutritional plan for me. He begins every session by explaining and demonstrating the exercises in the circuit. He also clarifies and demonstrates the importance of proper form, which makes it really easy for me since I'm a visual learner. At any point during the exercise if I forget to use proper form, Hugo reminds me and encourages me throughout. He is very good at helping me understand which muscles each exercise is working out. I like how during every session, he is focused, patient, and motivates me to make sure I'm giving it my all. His professionalism and friendliness make it all that much more of a positive experience training with him. I've been training with Hugo for about three months now, and I can say that I'm truly happy with my results so far. My strength and endurance have greatly increased since our first session. I've noticed my body fat decrease and my muscle mass increase. I also feel much better when I'm exercising and eating healthy, it has greatly helped with my anxiety. I definitely plan on continuing to train with Hugo. I'm excited to see how my fitness level and physique continue to progress. I'm glad that I chose Hugo as my personal trainer, it is obvious that he loves what he does and cares about his clients. I definitely recommend Hugo for anyone looking for a personal trainer, you will not regret it!
At first I was a little nervous about training outside of a gym. However, from our first meeting, David made me feel very comfortable. Now, I prefer the one on one training without the gym noise and other people. David creates a weekly plan made just for me instead of a one shoe fits all approach. My starting bench weight was only 65 and now I'm already at 120! Training with David doesn't feel like a drag, but rather an exciting journey of self-improvement. I look forward to my weekly sessions and even more to the dramatic results. David is more than a trainer- he's an inspiration.
I trained with Manuk a couple times a week for the last three months and couldn't have had a better experience. I feel like my old self, I learned new ways to stay in shape, and had a personalized meal plan that was tailored at various points throughout my training. Manuk will kick your butt into shape and really cares about his work. He makes himself available outside of his sessions and is just a great guy. His prices are great compared to packages at larger gyms. Setting goals and having accountability is something that I need in order to make big changes. Manuk made it happen.
I'm currently working with Eric to gain strength and flexibility (and improve my overall health). He has been great! I've been seeing him twice a week for about a month, and look forward to continuing training with him. A couple of things that I really appreciate about Eric and his training sessions: - He was courteous of my budget from the start and let me know what was realistic to do within my budget - He explains every exercise in detail (proper form, where you should feel muscles working, how a spotter would interact with the client). This is important for me, because being a girl and not growing up in a gym I had no clue where to even begin. So this is laying a good foundation for the long run even beyond our training sessions together. Also, it makes the client feel more comfortable when they know in advance where the spotter will be assisting at all times. - Eric is always on time. Even at 5:30 AM. He has a client before me at 4:30 AM and is there for that too. - He's been very kind and flexible when I have to travel for work and is willing to adjust the days that we meet so that I still get my two sessions a week in. - He is looking out for you in the long run. There are so many times that I feel discouraged because I can't quite complete a set or my form isn't right because I get tired. He is always quick to remind me that those things come in time as I build up strength. And it's true-- each time I can do a few more and do it better than before. He sets realistic goals and knows that things do not come over night and he wants you to realize that too. Overall, I'm really pleased with how things have been going. It's not a fast process for some of us, but since first beginning I have seen that I have improved in strength and that my body is shaping up. He's a great guy and knows what he is doing. I appreciate that he uses a style that incorporates basic weight lifting and body strength exercises, things that I could realistically do at home or a gym to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Aaron Valizan has been my brother, Shawn’s personal trainer and “life saver” for a couple years. Shawn was a NCAA two time Men's rings gymnastics champion, and was a personal trainer himself up until he had his 2 strokes. Shawn is only 55 years old. A few years ago, had two strokes which left him incompacitated and unable to: • Read • Remember anything • Walk on his own • Eat his meals without help • Make it to the bathroom • Remember where is living He has stayed at two Skilled Nursing Homes: San Marino Manor for 6 months Glendora Grand which is where Shawn has resided for two years. I decided that Shawn needed someone who could relate to his background and understand his illness and physical handicaps. It was very difficult for Shawn because he did have a vague memory of being a PT and thought he still had clients that he worked out with. I started researching Personal Trainers in his area and found Aaron Valizan. He was highly recommended, and I also found out he had 10 years of nursing experience in the hospital setting, so I set up a time for him to come out to Glendora Grand convalescent home to meet Shawn. They hit it off right away. Shawn was actually smiling for the first time in years. I started booking their appointments. Shawn showed progress after only a few weeks. Then, Shawn caught MRSA, which is a highly contagious disease. He was transported to Inter Community Hospital where he was put into an isolated department with a private room. Aaron visited Shawn (wearing scrubs, gloves and booties to protect him from contracting the disease). He immediately lifted Shawn’s morale which in turn got him to start to eat. The hospital staff was really impressed with how well he worked with Shawn. Aaron started organizing some training sessions for Shawn for when he returned to Glendora Grand. Within one month, he had Shawn out of the wheel chair and walking on his own (Shawn’s disease was gone). Every time Aaron walked into Shawn’s room, his fact lit up and he was ready to “go work out”. When Shawn was feeling better, Aaron decided to sign him up at a local gym, giving Shawn a lot more to look forward to do. His symptoms improved on a regular basis. He remembered that he had appointments at a gym and could not wait to go. I could not be more happy! Today, Shawn has improved on a regular basis. Aaron has kept up their appointments at the gym and coming by to work with him at Glendora Grand. Shawn looks forward to every appointment. Honestly, I have been so impressed with Aaron and thrilled with the amount of time and patience he takes to work with Shawn. I think we are beginning to see “The Light at The End of the Tunnel” and hope that Shawn will improve on a regular basis. I cannot thank Aaron enough for all that he has done for my brother. I have been working with Sandy for about two months. She has been fantastic to deal with. She is knowledgeable, motivating, and her work-outs kick butt!! Sandy has been very flexible in scheduling appointments and she is always on time. The sessions she has created for me have been an excellent mix of cardio, strength training, and AB work. None of the sessions have been boring! I highly recommend her services!!
I’ve been going to Summit Fitness and specifically training with Michelle since about March, 2015. She’s such an awesome trainer, I love and respect her approach to training in that she incorporates a variety approaches, activities, and exercises that range from the typical to the not so typical. For example, for strength training we of course use weights and resistance but she also routinely incorporates yoga and martial arts exercises into the mix which keeps it both interesting and at times dare I say fun! I would also describe her approach to training as being holistic in that she recognizes that it’s not just about building up one’s strength and cardio; flexibility, diet, deep stretching, etc., are as equally important and sometimes entire sessions are devoted to just that which as a long-time runner I know my legs desperately need. I really can’t say enough about her, other things that have been huge plusses for me are 1- she’s a female trainer and as such she has been able to provide a level of comfort I’m not sure I would be able to have with a male trainer especially when doing certain exercises or taking my body measurements and 2- how attentive she is to the needs and goals of all her clients. She genuinely cares about us and her actions prove that… just ask the clients who she has gone athletic shoe shopping with or has met at the track to jump start a running regiment.
Gabby is very thorough and knows how to get the results you want. I am training with her to get in shape for my wedding and told her I did not want to get bulky- just toned. She created workouts that are high intensity interval that helped me get leaner/toned. I've seen results already and it's been only a month. I wouldn't be able to push myself to do these workouts on my own- so it's really helpful to have her to help me and make sure I push myself to keep going.
Before Lucia I use to work out but never really noticed a change. Once i started my traing with her I felt better and actually understood what I was doing. Not only that but I told her the areas i wanted to fix and she immediately took that into consideration and listened to what i wanted. She explains each exercise thoroughly and motivates you with each exercise and every session you have with her. Over all having her as a trainer has helped me get into shape and continue to work harder for my goal. With her training I've seen a big change. Thank you !
I contacted Jason because I was looking to lose weight and wanted a personal trainer to work with. I love the fact that he had his own personal studio where we could train one on one without the distractions of a whole gym with thirty other people. I bought three months worth of sessions coming in 3 days a week. He was very flexible with my schedule which was something I needed with my work. His rates were awesome, I dare say unbeatable. I came in assuming the usual 3 sets of 15 reps of this and that. But boy, was I wrong. And in a good way =). His method is different from other personal trainers I've worked with in the past. The sessions were intense and left me feeling stronger than when I came in. Other trainers I've worked with had me looking at the clock wondering when the set would be over and the tortture would end but Jason made me want to keep going, he challenged me and made me feel what I can only assume athletes feel when they are training before the start of a season. In other words, it was hard work, intense but the hour flew by because he's actually made working out fun, never boring as no one session was the same =). Which was the best part. Each session was different and it made me look forward to what we were gonna do that day. I'm glad I chose to come to him because Equinox, NYSC, and Bodyscapes, honestly cannot compare to the service that Jason provides. I am speaking from experience. And what makes him successful at what he does is his PASSION to getting his clients healthier and transforming their body.

I actually met her thru a friend of mine, who was one of her close friends. I had hired several personal trainers but until Mami showed me her own training routines I was never happy. I wanted to get some good toned butt and get rid of my belly fat, after doing her routines for just 4 weeks, I started noticing my body is really rocking hot, and not only me, but all my friends and coworkers noticed the change on my body. Jeremy and I had our intro class and he assessed my level to gauge what training progression he can give me. He’s very pleasant and totally understood what my goals are. He also said highly informative things about how muscles work and what the moves are supposed to be targeting. He made me do some exercises that got me winded already and then he said “imagine that but 3 rounds of it for the next sessions”. Exactly what I want and need. I am excited to work with him and to get whipped into shape.
Frank is amazing and very knowledgeable! I periodically bring my clients to train with him so he can evaluate them. It's a win-win, my clients have fun experiencing something new and I learn new techniques, ques and training ideas as I watch them train. Frank is creative and is great with all levels. It’s been a pleasure training with Elbert. I’ve been training with him for some time now and all I can say is that he is very reliable, motivating, knowledgeable, committed & punctual. He would always go out of his way to ensure I felt comfortable in every workout. I love that he was well organized all the time and always planned ahead of time programs that best worked for my fitness goals. What I enjoyed the most while training with Elbert was that he would always incorporate a variety of challenging yet fun training routines. I’m the five time winner of “The Toughest Cop Alive”. But After years and years of training competition I had suffered number of injuries the reduced my ability to perform or even to live a normal life without limping and taking excessive amounts of pain killers and anti inflammatory medications. At first i was very skeptical but he was able to diagnose and fix a lot of the movement issues I had many of which I didn’t know were present.
I've previously trained with Matthew in the past & currently training with him again. I've had an overall great experiance. When I first started working out with him & we took it easy but quickly he helped me build up strength in a short amount of time. Throughout the workout session he pushes you hard to make sure you complete your workout & gives you the motivation you need even when you think you can't do something. He is definitely a great personal trainer that'll get you to your goal. 10/10
