Gourmet Lovers recently catered my son's wedding reception and everything turned out wonderfully! Carolina, Boris and their team took care of everything from start to finish and they didn't leave until the place was spotless. The food was amazing. My son and his bride didn't want "traditional" reception food so Chef Boris put together some of the tastiest tacos, beans, rice and salsa we have ever had, not to mention a fun interactive build your own Nacho Bar for the hors d'oeuvres that all the guests raved about. Not only was Chef Boris' food amazing, Carolina's wedding cake was something special. She worked with us to design just want the bride and groom wanted. The cake was rich in flavor and beautifully decorated. She certainly knows how to bake an amazing cake. I am a fan of Gourmet Lovers Catering and highly recommend them to anyone needing a caterer who not only knows how to put together great food, but knows how to work within your budget. Carolina was always prompt in returning calls and always stayed in touch with us. I plan on using them for all my catering needs in the future.
My husband and I hired Madkins catering for a family weekend in the desert (La Quinta). We requested a bbq for the first night, and an early Easter dinner for the second night. I expected the meals to be good but not great (I haven’t really had an excellent catering experience). However, the meals were OUTSTANDING. Chef Aviarie is truly talented, and our entire family and guests talked about the interesting flavors and quality of the food. I still can’t get over how Chef Aviarie and Frank prepared everything from scratch in our kitchen in just a few hours! We requested a hefty amount of dishes, and they pulled it off without a sweat! The team is incredibly kind, professional and a pleasure to have cooking in our kitchen. They even managed to entertain our 6 year old nephew while they were cooking. I should also note their rates are very reasonable! I can’t say enough good things about our experience. I am happy to serve as a personal reference in case anyone wants my feedback. I hired these guys about a year ago for a small dinner party, about 5 of us. It was such a great experience! It was a while ago so I can't remember the chef's name, I think it was David, he was on time, professional, super friendly, did a great job working with my tiny apartment kitchen and crappy old stove. The food was impeccable! No joke BEST crab cakes I've ever had in my life! We all had a great time and my friends were also so impressed with the food. They still talk about the dinner. I'm not a fancy person who hires private chefs all the time, it was my first, but it was such a great experience I would do it again if a special occasion came up and would absolutely hire him again! Highly recommend! It took so long to leave this review because I forgot to do it last year and I'm an outta sight outta mind person, unfortunately, but I just got on here to look for another service and saw them on my list and had to leave this review. Won't disappoint!
Thank goodness for chefs like Mark who cook the way you want, and need, to eat when the last thing you want to do is cook for yourself when you're ill. I'm so greatful to have been introduced to him when I needed it the most. Mark is a great guy who cares about your healing. He's prepared the most healthy and delicious dishes. He'll work with you so that every dish delivered is what you like. And his selection is so broad that you won't eat the same thing again and again. Though some times you'll wish you did!
I loved working with Susan Kowalski from Wild Thyme Catering. She was professional, helpful, positive, and personable. At the last minute, I decided to throw my husband a surprise birthday dinner for 8 people. I wanted to try something new and have a chef prepare dinner in our home. Susan was able to work with the short time frame and within our budget. She listened to what I said my husband would like and helped me put together a fabulous menu. The food was outstanding and exactly what we talked about. Everyone had a great meal and an awesome time. I definitely recommend Susan, and hope to have her back sometime in the near future.
Chef Mark, Roy and Cagen did an amazing job at our wedding! Before Chef Mark came in to save the day, we had booked a chef, who five days before our wedding, told us he could not do the event due to some personal problem. By most measures, losing your chef 5 days before you say 'I do' would have been a disaster. Through Thumbtack, we found Chef Mark. Roy helped us to put together a new menu and Chef Mark made a wonderful meal for our guests. Everyone kept saying how good the food was. Chef Mark and Thumbtack literally saved our wedding. Thank you!
I have to qualify this review first by saying I have worked as a professional cook and have owned a catering business. So I have an eye for and know what works and what doesn't, what can be prepped beforehand without sacrificing quality, and what can be done on sight and off-site with the aim of making sure everything is properly expedited and comes out on time. When I arrived the table was set up nicely set up and decorated. However, we had previously informed Chef that we were going to be 13 and we would like two tables, as some people are uncomfortable with sitting at a table of 13 people. So we had to ask Chef to please separate the two tables. When Bridgette came the day before, my wife mentioned she wanted a table of 6 and one of 7, not two tables pushed together to make 13. There were also no cloth napkins, but paper napkins. I guess assuming that a request for "linens" did not include cloth napkins, only tablecloths. But I digress. Even though this was done in our home where we are well equipped, I still expect anyone coming to prepare food to come fully equipped to meet their needs without having to use the home equipment. This was not the case, as Chef used our Kitchenaid, tongs, and other items. As well, they did not have a serving platter for one of the hors'd'oeuvres. Furthermore, they had to use some of our silverware because they did not bring everything needed (spoons, forks). There were steak knives on the table when we were eating fish, and no other knives. I had no problem with this because, of course, I wanted the event to go smoothly. But other clients might not have been as flexible. Finally, they used all my kitchen towels and had them all wet, from I don't know what- but it's easy enough to bring your own hand towels. As well, because we used the plates on the table for hors'd'ouevres, they had to wash and prepare again for salad plates, as they had expected the hors'd'oeuvres to simply be finger food. Nonetheless, the hors'd'oeuvres-asparagus with prosciutto and chicken bites, or whatever they might have been-still require plates. This delayed serving. More forethought should have been given to how this was all going to go down. Personally, I would have brought the salad all prepped. Because it wasn't prepped, it meant a longer serving delay. The server didn't know the difference between wine and water glasses-some basic protocol needed. The food was excellent and I had several very positive compliments from the guests, this is where they shined, and it was served hot and fresh like it should be. We had a delicious shaved fennel salad with parmesan, and a main course of Blackened Sea Bass with a succotash and roasted potatoes. That is the beauty of preparing on-site. I say this with the caveat, as mentioned earlier, that a few things could have been prepped beforehand without sacrificing quality. This would have allowed the service to flow more quickly and not have such long delays between dishes. As Chef prepared the chocolate mousse on site, some people had to leave before dessert since it took well over 45 minutes between our main course and dessert. While we had agreed that I would supply the chocolate, it I had known it was going to take chef so long to prepare it, I would have suggested it be made beforehand. If I had done this lunch, I would have brought the mousse pre-made. They used up my whole bag of ice too-I would have brought ice. Finally, food left over was taken away and not left with us. I asked the server I f she was going to leave the food to me as she was walking out and she laughed uncomfortably and said no. My assumption is that the client paid for the food, they should get any leftovers. I give Kudos to the Chef for excellent food, but the service was uncomfortably slow and everyone noticed. Finally, the server was inexperienced. Overall, organization and attention to details were lacking. To end on a positive note, they did an excellent job leaving the kitchen just as the found it and were friendly and professional despite the hiccups mentioned. I didn't have to worry about anything. If you are looking for good food, Chef Mumsie does a great job. But please ask that they send you experienced servers, and make sure to point out every possible detail that you can think of, because in my experience, they did not have a checklist or form to check off what you do or don't need for an event.
I hired Sierra Madre Catering for my husband's 40th birthday party held at my home. The set up process was so easy, they were so accommodating with the menu I wanted (even though it included fried foods and philly cheese steak sandwiches which are hard to make on-site). The moment they got to my house, Tonya and her chefs were so professional, speedy, on top of it all! They made my night so much easier and fun and I finally got to enjoy my own party for once! They left my house very neat like my kitchen was never used! They picked up after my guests throughout the night. My favorites were inside-out Philly cheese steak, pulled pork sliders, mac & cheese, potstickers and garlic fries. Thank you and looking forward to seeing you again!
Chef Travis was awesome!! He completely made our Girls Night In a success. He was extremely courteous and professional and the meal was top notch. He did a tapas style taste of Italy theme with all fresh ingredients. He even made the marinara from scratch. Little Italian grandmas everywhere would have been proud. The best part (even though it was all pretty amazing) was the dessert. Chef made a chocolate cherry tart that put us girls over the top. He even taught us how to make it ourselves! I can't thank him enough for the wonderful experience. I will definitely rehire him on any future visits to Vegas!
So Devine Catering catered an engagement party for my daughter. I can't say enough how awesome they are. I had never hired a caterer before and was a bit out of my element. Chef Alexa was super cool and kind enough to walk me through the process, meet with me and really did an outstanding job. Chef Alexa and her entire team are just awesome. Everyone at our party was impressed. Just can't say enough great things!

On Feb 1, 2018, Chef Amy performed her private chef services at my girlfriend’s birthday party with our teenage daughter. Amy curated a delicious 5-course menu based on our favorites. She prepared the food in new fun beautiful ways. Amy was funny, approachable and professional. She brought all needed cooking and serving ware. She cooked and cleaned up everything. Amy explained and presented every course of the meal and prepared unique never seen before drinks that were a huge hit! The food portions in each course were just right and completely filling. Amy clearly loves cooking and enjoys interacting with clients. Amy was sooo good by evenings end that we were singing to our throw-back music playlist and hugging her goodbye with anticipation of a future event. I definitely plan to hire Amy many more times in the future. HIGHLY RECOMMEND- 5 STARS
I was working out with a trainer, and doing cardio at least 6 times a week; I was barely moving the needle on the scale I stood on each day. My trainer was very helpful in helping me realize it was what I was eating each day and not eating enough of the right foods. My trainer had suggested I look at a few meal plans. As I was looking at this options I knew if I got the standard meal plan delivery from one of the well-known companies, I would end up throwing half of the food away. I then made a conscious effort to explore and search for other options, and I discovered Carmi. I have been very pleased with my results, and I have been utilizing her personal chef services for almost two years! My original plan was to utilize her for six months, as I prepared to be on a web-series reality show. I dropped the weight I needed and I made a choice to continue with her. I love that we design my meals each week, and we change them according to my palate, and what I need to help keep me healthy. I will tell you all of her meals are scrumptious and addictive! I have regular requests each week, as I must have those dishes! She is very dependable, reachable and always ready to work with you. This is a truly one-on-one personal chef design. Take all of those frozen food meals in your freezer and toss them out; as Carmis meals are fresh and organic and just plain yummy!
Nancy quickly came to the rescue after our original chef cancelled the week before. It was a girls weekend & she came to our Air BnB. She adapted the original menu & made some great changes so that the food was diverse but flowed. Also she made it all gluten-free as one girl has Celiacs disease. Her eggplant Parmesan was mind-blowing! Great value for our buck. She even brought flowers for the table.
Chef Lofthouse is incredible. He catered my 26th birthday party and fed 32 famished twenty somethings. Everything was amazing from the stuffed mushrooms to the bbq sliders! He was prompt, responsive and immensely attentive. I never saw an empty tray the entire night. This allowed me to relax and enjoy the party because I knew that he was 100% on top of it. We all know how hard it is to let go when you're hosting a party because you want everything to be great and your guests to be happy. I don't think I've ever had a party run as smoothly as this one and Chef Lofthouse was a big part of that. I will not only be hiring him again but I've already referred him to all my friends and clients. Thank you for a great night Chef!
Acacia catered a large family event I hosted! Choosing her to take care of the food was the best decision I made! She was always very kind, professional, and easy to work with! Valerie was our chef for almost a year. She moved to LA so we sadly no longer work with her. She is absolutely fantastic! I had strict dietary restrictions including dairy free, sugar free and grain free and Val cooked all of our meals with that in mind. AND they were all fantastic! We miss her a lot, but anyone that works with her is so lucky!!
Greg was everything I could have wanted in a personal dining chef! Such a warm personality, professional yet personal, and off the chart food. We have used Chef Mikey for both meal prep and catering. He is truly a gem. The meals he has prepped are flavorful, good variety and perfectly portioned. The last party Chef Mikey catered for us, he made jerk chicken wings that people couldn’t stop talking about. I’m craving them right now! I would highly recommend him for meal prep, private dinner parties or catering!
We hired Unique Luxury Catering to prepare a family dinner for 8 for my wife's birthday on our patio at Pelican Hill.Chef Brad prepared a fabulous meal topped off by a scratch made carrot cake that was divine.The reduction sauce with vanilla bean added was incredible to plate everything in. This was a great meal,for a great celebration in a great setting. Unique will deliver a great experience for whatever need your occasion requires.Thanks Steve for providing a great experience !
