I tried Elite tutoring for my daughter and when she was first assessed, had gaps going back to 4th grade in math. Her grades were mediocre at best. Now she is finishing the year on the honor roll and currently in Elite tutoring’s Algebra program. She's making A's in all of her classes. Thanks!

Professional, on time. John is tutoring my 10 year old son in math, specifically, common core math. John is very patient which is what my son needs. I try to help him but I lose my patience which frustrates both of us. I am glad John is able to help and I hope my son will improve his math skills. John has tutored Christopher twice only so I hope this review is helpful. So far, I would recommend John.

Met with John once or twice a week over the course of several months during my GMAT preparation. I started out with a 13th percentile quantitative score. After working with him I was able score in the 73rd percentile on my first official GMAT, exceeded my initial goal by scoring ABOVE a 700. I had no formal quantitative training or experience prior to studying; the last math class I took was as a sophomore in high school (a decade ago). Each time I met with John, he was able to go beyond simply correcting my mistakes. He clearly explained the overarching reasoning, strategy and logic behind a certain problem. This is something the video explanations in GMAT curriculum do not do as thoroughly as John. If you're looking for someone to discuss GMAT concepts with in a clear and intelligent way, I highly recommend him. I also studied using curriculum like Target Test Prep, but John helped me tremendously by working through the problems I struggled with step by step and identifying any weak spots in my quant skills. He understands the GMAT and is able to identify the kinds of questions that likely would or would not appear on the exam. Finally, John served as a strong source of moral support throughout a challenging three months of study atop a full time job. When I wanted to try a new curriculum or ask him about tricky questions via email, he would always offer thoughtful feedback in response. His responses were especially helpful when I scored low on practice exams; John's feedback always helped me put things in perspective and helped me get back up and try again. He was very flexible and willing to work with my schedule and make time when needed, often on short notice. In short, I couldn't have done it without him!

Every class I took with Dan Wekselgreene was comprehensive. Mr. Wekselgreene did an excellent job with his lesson plans and made sure all students understood the material. All his class work and home work was designed by him which makes it even better. His math lessons were clear, thoroughly, and fun. Also, he was responsive of his students. Always available to meet with them during, before, and after school. He is a teacher committed to his work and students. More than a math teacher he was a great mentor and advisor. Mr. Wekselgreene is a positive, patient, and compassionate man. I saw him face teenage negativity with a smile and hope. He is a great role model and a hardworking math teacher. I can say with confidence that anyone that comes across Mr. Wekselgreene will be lucky to have him as a teacher, mentor, and/or advisor.

I doubt you would get a good instructor like Mr Yevegny. I am a 40+ year old guy trying to relearn calculus. I soon realized I had not had a good grip of algebra and trigonometry. He has patiently worked with me to improve my ubsertanding if the subject in my own pace. Without his guidance I would not have taken these steps either. He is extremely knowledgeable and provides a great insight at every step. Slowly piquing your interest and taking you more and more into the subject. Of course his dedication to teaching and the subject is reflected in his punctuality and professionalism. I hope you too would start your math travel with him. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me for further reference. Thanks Anand

My son has been going to Dhivya for math tutoring for about 6 months for 1.5 hours per week. During this time, he has gained a lot of confidence in his math abilities. His math grades at school have greatly improved. Dhivya knows how to teach the math so that he understands it, and she is patient with him. I highly recommend her as a tutor.

Darya tutored and advised me throughout my senior year of high school and my first year at college. Having Darya by my side throughout the stress of a year and a half journey has had a significant impact in my life. Although Darya's main responsibility was to tutor me for my Advanced Placement (AP) Literature class, she went above and beyond to what I expected of an English tutor. She helped me find my inner voice as a writer through tutoring me about grammar, organization, and vocabulary. She also helped boost my confidence as an underprivileged Latina studying in the STEM field as a computer science major at the University of California: Santa Cruz. I passed both my AP Government and AP Literature classes and tests which is significant because both required a heavy amount of analytical writing; I graduated high school with honors and with the highest cumulative grade point average (GPA), 3.7, at any time of my academic career. One week before I was going to take my SAT for the third time, I mentioned to Darya that I was struggling understanding a large portion of the Math section of the test. To my surprise, she was thoroughly capable skilled in tutoring me in math, along with English. In less than seven days, Darya was able to successfully prepare me for my last SAT test; subsequently, my SAT score improved by more than 100 points. If we had more time to go through the preparation book, I could have further surpassed this amazing progress. Another aspect in which Darya supported me in my college application and preparation process was in guiding me to refine my college essays for both private and public universities: as a result, I was accepted to more than half of the colleges that I applied to. Finally, I am most grateful for Darya and her efforts towards my success because of the high number of scholarships that I received in the second semester of my senior year in high school. Through Darya’s excellent editing and writing abilities, I was able to accumulate more than $200,000 in scholarship rewards from four different organizations. I could never have imagined this much triumph before meeting Darya; without these scholarship awards, I would have been forced to work during my breaks and during school to afford a college education. Now, all that I have to worry about is learning as much as I can while I am at UCSC. On account of my strong achievements in less than a year with Darya, I still utilize the many tips and lessons that she has instilled in me. As a result of this, I excelled in my classes at UCSC with a cumulative GPA of 3.6. Because of my outstanding academic success in the first quarter of college, I was exclusively invited by the university to apply to the College Scholars Program; this two-year program selects 20 students out of about 200 students applying from each college at UCSC to help give them meaningful academic challenges. Not only do I recognize Darya as one of the most significant people in my life because of my solid academic accomplishments, but also due to the genuine passion she holds to be sure that her tutees succeed. As her tutee, she constantly reminded me of my own abilities to encourage my confidence. We are still in contact today which further demonstrates her enthusiasm for her tutees. She is evidently benevolent, motivated, and intelligent, and I highly recommend her tutoring and guidance talents to any student who is fortunate enough to be her tutee.

I was born and raised in a Spanish speaking country. I have lived and studied in the US. In my classes of full immersion, a conversational method is emphasized, as well as grammar explanations, only the necessary followed by the practice of the important points illustrated. I am a well-seasoned instructor with experience in prestigious universities, government agencies, and private academies such as Inlingua, AVL, University of Miami, Barry University, and DLI. I also offer Spanish and ESL private tutoring.

About

Because we are small, we are able to offer a far more personalized approach than many large tutoring houses. Yet, we have the tools, training, and know-how of a large academic institution. For each student, we systematically work to identify problems, and then collaboratively create a plan to solve them using innovative curriculum design. Above all else, we are passionate about what we do! We care about genuine knowledge and understanding: we look beyond the numbers. We teach students to set their own goals, not merely jump through the hoops in front of them. We strongly believe that any student can succeed with the right combination of guidance, enthusiasm, and challenge.
