Thank you to the amazing staff of The Burton House and Grill. They catered my 40th birthday party and exceeded my expectations. Head chef Armida is a genius and pastry chef Yshia is incredible. Their professional and accommodating attitude made making my special night so much easier to plan. It's a pleasure to rave about Chef Meeshell. She has cooked for our family for years -- for weekly drop-offs, and for dinner parties and for big catered affairs. The food is always outstanding and beautifully prepared. When my mother was ill and on a special diet, Meeshell was expert at preparing healthy alternatives that made her condition more enjoyable. It's safe to say our annual holiday party is often attended by friends who always want to know -- if Meeshell is making her lobster mac apps this year -- not to mention the jewel cous cous and the special salmon. They say they are our friends--but they are also fans of Chef Meeshell. And to top it off she is a lovely person, who is a pleasure to have in your home. Our dog loves her too. And last but not least, we eat more healthy meals because of her. It's a win-win-win with Chef Meeshell.

From start to finish, Carol Iaquinta, Chef-Owner was excellent and helpful. Very professional, very hands on with every detail large to small. Food was excellent as we did a Mexican Fiesta theme for my daughter's wedding. Food was tasty ( wedding cake and appetizers too ), hot, fresh and on time. I would recommend Carol and her team to anybody interested in a first class catering situation. Carol is trustworthy, reasonably priced and a great honest resource in her dealing with my daughter and I in the wedding food & beverage preparation and presentation. She also is an excellent resource in the others aspects of a destination wedding ( tables/chairs/bartender possibilities, shuttles, etc.. ) I have worked with many hotels catering folks, special ( vendors, food trucks, restaurants and catering company's ) event catering folks and coming from a collegiate athletic department with over 30 years of experience working with every aspect of food/beverage service - I would take Carol and her staff again without reservation ! Chef Jeanne is an outstanding chef! I've used her culinary skills several times and I have never been disappointed. Her special, creative flavor profiles with all kinds of food, from comfort sandwiches to extravagant dinners, including her awarding wining delicious soups makes me think of her FIRST whenever I need a caterer. She uses only the freshest ingredients and she insists on quality results. Once she's satisfied with the meal she cooked, she takes time to present it in a very appealing, elegant manner. I would highly recommend Chef Jeanne to cook either a meal for two or for a large group! Your tummies will be happily satisfied!

Chef catered an offsite highschool reunion dinner. He delivered equipment, food and staff to a winery location. He was well prepared and his staff was cordial and moved about the room unobtrusively. Now, the food - the variety was unbelievable - yes, he did it ALL well. There was something for everyone from the most "robust" of appetites to the most finicky. He worked within my time frame and budget, asking me for my preferences and then making recommendations to best suit the venue and quantity of people. I would definitely call upon Chef again for my next event.

    My husband and I had the most amazing dinner Friday night, thanks to The Prancing Chef. (Also known as Anthony Allesmith). He gave us a dinner to remember. Absolutly beautiful. If you are looking for an elegant and wonderful caterer, look no further. Definitly a five star! We had Butternut Squash Salad with Maple Vinaigrette, Paleo Stuffed Mushrooms, Sweet Potato Mousse, Pumpkin Bisque, Thyme and Peppercorn Crusted Chateaubriand with Butternut Squash Puree and Roasted Brussels sprouts and asparagus tips with Cabernet Demi glacé and thyme fried onions, finishing with Sous Vide Creme Brûlée, We left feeling beyond satisfied! Would most definitely recommend The Prancing Chef for any event!

      We wanted someone to handle the food at an outdoor gathering this summer for about 35 to 40 friends and family. Daryl prepared a variety of 3 beautiful and healthy salads, a lot nicer than I expected. Grilled sausages for starters. Took care of all the beef and chicken BBQ including very unique homemade rubs and sauces. We just set the food out and self served. It was so nice to be able to mingle with guests and leave everything else to Daryl. He even cleaned up:) Of course we were very specific before hand with the menu and what we wanted him to do. Well worth it!

      Torricella recently catered a rib cook off competition at Birchwood garden barn and home. They provided all of the side dishes and they were incredibly executed! Typically wouldn't find Italian cuisine in a rib cook off, but chef Ben custom tailored the menu which paired well with our event. Chef Ben was professional and stayed in constant contact with me. The food was wonderful and the service was even better!

      We had a wonderful experience working with Rosanne over this last weekend. She came over to our vacation rental and cooked breakfast and dinner for two families. She made omelettes, pancakes and scones for breakfast. Everything thing was delicious and we finished every crumb of the scones she baked. For dinner she made an amazing lentil soup, along with focaccia bread, pasta and a drool-worthy fruit cobbler. She shopped for us, came on time, cooked quickly and left the kitchen spanking clean. The quantities were generous so we had enough for the following day as well. I would definitely hire her again if I am visiting the area.

As you interview wedding catering companies, you’ll be presented with a cost per person for various menus. On the low end, wedding catering may cost approximately $15-$18 per person. This would include prepared food only, with no setup or service of any kind. The starting price for a simple buffet meal with minimal service typically averages $22 per person. Opting for the same menu with all organic ingredients could raise your costs to about $33 per person. A moderately upscale menu (finer ingredients, more elaborate presentation) could range from $24 to $34 per person. High-end wedding catering cost truly has no limit. Lobster, filet mignon, specialty seafood, organic ingredients — menu choices like these can boost your cost per person up to $150 and more.

      Do you tip a wedding caterer?

      Tipping 15 percent to 20 percent on a $3,000 catering bill can feel daunting — especially in light of all the other costs of throwing a wedding — but tipping your wedding caterer is standard practice. Be sure to ask your caterer about their specific policies. Many catering companies include gratuity as a line item on their bill. If tipping is not automatically included in your total, a good approach is to tip all the people involved the day of the event rather than paying one lump sum to the catering company. For each server and bartender, you can tip $20-$50, depending on how long they were onsite and whether they did exceptional work. You can also tip the chef; experts suggest $50. Usually a caterer will determine cost based on the type of event you’re having, how many guests will attend, the level of service you desire, and what type of menu you’d like to have. For example, if you have a set catering budget, say $1,500, and you plan to have 50 people attend, that means you have $30 per person for food. If you have the same budget with 100 people, you have $15 per person for food. In this way, the number of people you want to attend your event and the level of food you want to serve them determines how much catering will cost.
