Baron is an exceptional personal trainer whose passion for health and fitness is inspiring. I've been training with him for the past 5 months and each session is so much more than just a killer workout. He challenges my mental limits by pushing me beyond the edge of my (perceived) physical limits. He thoughtfully fine tunes his extensive knowledge of fitness / body mechanics in order to meet specific individual needs. He is very patient with me - and if a new technique seems intimidating, he will take the time to explain and answer any of my questions. One of his many skills is knowing how to push without being "pushy" - to motivate without being demanding. And he always knows exactly what I need to hear to get me through the "I can't" moments. Baron is professional, engaging and genuinely cares about his clients' success. I highly recommend him.
My review is specifically for Anthony, my personal trainer of four sessions. He is kind, funny, motivational, positive, enthusiastic, responsive, and was never intimidating nor condescending. He was patient with me when I had to reschedule sessions again and again because of my personal schedule, and always showed up to sessions with a smile, ready to fist bump you. As a complete beginner to using the gym equipment, he helped me feel at ease and competent. One thing to be aware of, though, is that you may share Anthony with a couple of other folks during your session (perhaps there are 1-on-1 options available), which works pretty well as we take turns using the machines. It just means that you may have to be more proactive in grabbing his attention to ask questions, if you do have any and which I know he'd be happy to answer. All in all, 5 stars for Anthony!
Evan is the best personal trainer I have ever worked with. He tweaked our workouts to exactly what I wanted, was supportive, encouraging, and just generally great to work with. I'd recommend him to anyone.
I would absolutely recommend Aaron. I reached out for a personal trainer to help me start running again after taking a long time off due to repeated injury. I had my first session with Aaron this week, and it was really great. We spent the first half hour chatting about my goals and history with running, and Aaron looked at my body mechanics. Aaron is very knowledgeable about the body, and was able to pick up on some subtle features to inform his exercise plan for me. Next, he spent an hour introducing me to some of the exercises and coaching me. He was very encouraging and easy to work with.

John is an amazing personal trainer, he is the type of trainer that makes you feel so good about what you're accomplishing, while at the same time pushing you to excel. I'm the type of person that thrives with positive reinforcement and that's what I get from John, he's also very flexible and able to work with you on scheduling. I would highly recommend training with him.
I have been working with John for the past 5 months and seen a great change in my figure. Before I started working out with John, I worked out in group class exercises And thought that I was in the best figure I could have achieved. John pushes you even harder to to be better in shape not just physically but nutritionally. He will coach you how exercise, food and sleep are very important to achieving your overall fitness goal. I have been more than satisfy with John as having him as my personal trainer. He pushes you hard, but it is well worth it! Anyone can can open a 'gym' in an unfinished building without air conditioning, but if you're looking for a specialized program, tailored to your individual goals and needs, this is your place. This is a private gym, where you're time is scheduled, guaranteeing personal, one on one attention. No need to wait for weights, ever. Vanessa busts my ass! She's very knowledgeable and makes sure I know what area of my body I'm working out. After just 10 visits I lost a couple of inches. This team has kept me motivated and I'm excited to be reaching my goals!! Highly recommended.
I recently moved to San Mateo. I was looking for an experienced personal trainer with a private gym and Kip was the guy. After I posted the search on Thumbtack, Kip quickly responded back with an offer and set up an trial training session with me. The trial went great, he pushed hard but was checking up on me from time to time to see if I needed a break or drink of water. I recommend anyone to sign up with him and try it out for themselves. Another thing I like about Kip is that he checks-up with you after the training to see how you feel and adjust the next session based on your response.
I have had personal trainers before but only at a gym. When i trained with Armando Ramirez it was in the comfort of his home. He trained me in his garage and it was for a month. I told him I wanted a work out plan that would target a total body work out crunched into an hour. He first weighed me and tuck measurements. So I can see my progress. That was very helpful and I like that I felt comfortable with him. I liked how it was one on one without the crowded gym environment. Armando showed me how to enjoy working out instead of counting down the minutes. I liked how it was quick and do able on a weekly basis. He always made sure my form was correct. In the past other trainers didn't give me as much attention due to other clients in the gym. Armando also pushed me when he seen I wanted to give up. But it was not aggressive it was very motivational. He showed me that I was capable of exceeding in my work outs. One thing, Armando did not have to many work out machines but his work out consisted more of stability and balance. I liked that better because I can do those work outs anywhere. No GYM needed. I really recommend training with Armando!!
Monique is kind, professional, and a joy to have as a personal trainer. She knows how to tailor the exercises to each individual's abilities and needs. I am very happy that I found her. Wonderful trainer, wonderful person!
I've been training with David for about 5 weeks now. I decided to train with David initially because I felt like he listened to my goals and he sounded like he had a lot of experience. He was the first person I interviewed but I remembered that he was the most humble and down to earth, and I had a feeling I'd be comfortable training with him. All the men trainers I interviewed talked to me like I had two brain cells, and I found David to be the most up front and honest. My goal is to lose weight, tone up and to strengthen my left shoulder for outrigger canoeing. So far, I am noticing a huge difference with my left shoulder. Its stronger and it no longer bothers me when I go paddling or perform certain exercises. Its still not 100% in strength but has gotten a lot stronger through training. All our sessions are pretty different and varied. I never know what to expect from David, which is good. I get bored at the gym because I love the outdoors, but David keeps it interesting. David pushes me when he thinks I'm slacking off, which often times, he is mostly right about.... I need someone to push me or I will slack off, which is probably a good reason to hire a trainer. David goes out of his way to make it work for his clients. He genuinely cares about his clients and loves what he does. I can tell by the excellent service he provides for his clients. My personal belief is that its important to practice what you preach, and David is a trainer that is in great physical condition, and knows what he is doing. I personally did not want to hire a personal trainer at the local gym that looked like they needed training themselves... I highly recommend David as a personal trainer. Due to his diverse background, I believe he would be a great fit for many.
Mohamed is the best trainer I have ever trained with. I have trained with a number of other trainers before but no one as good as Mohamed. He genuinely cares about his clients and wants us to see results which is why he checks in daily to see how I am feeling. He is an all in one trainer, in the sense he not only helped me get fit physically but also helped me become positive/strong mentally. He saw that I was working out with him but was not happy mentally (job situation) but he helped me deal with it. He such a positive person with a lot to offer. His workouts are awesome, he challenges me every time I see him. I am doing workouts that I have never done before or even knew I could do. I definitely see a lot of results after I started working out with him. I would recommend him to everyone!
Cassie is an amazing personal trainer - she will help you reach goals that you never thought were possible. She also has a strong focus on nutrition which is always at least 80% of the goal. Cassie helped me lose 25+lbs and I've been able to maintain it. Train with her and listen to her, and follow everything she says down to every detail, and you'll get results - but remember you have to put in the actual work!
So far we have met 3 times. 2 on exercise training, 1 for a massage. And, he is right on cue! I pat myself on the back to have made the right choice (for my first time ever) to have a personal trainer. I won't add any photos (yet) but, in a couple of months, (I'm sure) I'll be able to share the "before" and "after"...photos.
I had been dealing with knots in my upper back for the longest time and couldn't seem to fix it with my foam roller. The massage I received from Ben Lim was very relaxing and I felt a tremendous amount of relief in my upper back muscles! Very detailed oriented so my body felt great all round after the massage. Loved his attention to technique with the draping of the sheets and blanket and how he used it to add in stretches during the massage. He takes into account full consideration of your level of comfort through out the massage by checking in and asking about levels of pressure and if there are any areas of your body he should avoid or if there are any areas he should add more focus on. Not the biggest fan of my feet getting touched so It's great to know that he is a massage therapist who follows morals and ethical boundaries. Doesn't stop there, he's also a certified NASM personal trainer and also does correctional work with his senior clients so he was able to create a personal plan for me so that I know what muscle groups I need to strengthen and what stretches I should be doing. I would highly suggest to anyone that is finding complications with knots, sore areas, or stress levels to call up Ben Lim for his personalized massages!
I really enjoy working with Herman. He is very engaging during the training. Herman will motivate and push you beyond your limit that you didn't even know you are capable of. He focuses on what your goals and your needs are and adjust the workout or meal prep to help achieve it. He is also very responsive and flexible with my capabilities. He will adjust the workout to my needs, my range of motions, and my injuries. When my wrists are acting up, he will alter the exercise and accommodate to my limitations. Not only is he a personal trainer, he is also a friend who cares about how I'm doing in life. He would check up on me on how my injuries are doing or if I'm sore from the workouts. He'll also give me suggestions on how to alleviate the pain or tells me how to stretch to help my soreness. Overall, I am really satisfied with Herman and I am really seeing results!!
I had Sanchez as a trainer for about two years before I moved out of town. I still make sure to see him when I travel back to town. Dude knows his stuff, is light-hearted but unrelenting, and actually gets results. Recommended for those focusing on strength training, though he might Zumba like a motherfucker; I don't know.
I hired Paul Fulcher as a personal trainer in order to reach my goal of losing 30lbs. Not only did I lose the weight, but he went above and beyond and taught me how to eat healthier and feel better about myself. He has a high level of energy but not overbearing! You will immediately notice his passion for fitness and sense of humor which fueled my motivation. Not only do you get results you gain a healthy lifestyle. Highly recommended!
I did lots of research on personal fitness trainers in the south bay area. I found Ron’s website, researched his training program and emailed him in regards to more information. He returned the email promptly and within the week we were meeting and discussing my goals and starting my training sessions the next week. Ron provides a complete package that is easy to follow yet aggressive to the goals that you are wanting. I have been with him for 9-weeks now and he has exceeded my expectations in a trainer. He is there by your side correcting your techniques; assist when needed but never lets you gives up. Each session he challenges you and provides positive reinforcements to keep you motivated. I am moving forward meeting my goals and Ron has helped provide me with that. Great trainer, very knowledgeable and a great mentor for getting yourself where you want to be physically and mentally. I would recommend him to anyone no matter what stage of fitness you are. He has set a great foundation for my future goal. Can’t thank him enough.
