We hired Chef Rocco to cook dinner for a group of 6 adults, 2 with food sensitivities. He was accessible by email and helped develop a menu that would work with our group, came on time, setup quickly, and was able to work around our food issues. The food was fresh and tasty, with much larger portions than I expected, and he explained all dishes upon serving. He solicited our feedback and by the end of the night the kitchen was immaculate...such a treat. I would definitely hire him again.
Evan was WONDERFUL through the whole process & event! He catered at our "Mexican" family reunion at an outdoor park. Food was one of the most important things to get for our reunion and having many good Mexican cooks in the family, Evan came through! There were so many COMPLIMENTS about how GREAT the food was! We had the Mexican Taco Bar with Churros added for dessert. His roasted meats for the tacos were so tasty with the grilled veggies and all the sides and garnishes, and those churros went real fast! Using A Plus for catering assistance was the best holiday gift I’ve ever given myself. I needed help for a self-catered holiday gathering. I was looking for a flexible professional willing to do whatever - food prep, serving, cleaning. They sent Brenda - a proper chef. Wow! She was amazing - friendly, calm, extremely capable, flexible, and an absolute delight to work with. She figured out how to use my rotisserie oven, made a dynamite roast chicken, fried potato pancakes like a pro, left my kitchen clean, and allowed me to spend a wonderful, stress-free evening with my guests. By the end of the evening, my guests were hugging her as they said their goodbyes. Will definitely use A Plus & Brenda again.
We used Debbie to cater our office holiday luncheon. We loved working with her every step of the way. From the beginning she was enthusiastic to talk with us and very helpful in planning out the menu. She was fast getting back to us with any questions and requests we had. She was accommodating with our special requests and making sure we had everything we needed/wanted. Most importantly though, THE FOOD WAS AMAZING! Everything was homemade and delicious, our employees were still talking about it the next week. One of our dishes was a roasted turkey and it was incredibly moist, so good. The deserts we all so tasty (a chocolate cake, apple crumble, and pumpkin pie) and she made homemade whipped cream to go on top...YUUUM. Debbie and Made with Love catering was a delight to work with and we definitely plan to use her for future events. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
NitroBBQ in Santa Rosa , CA is a fantastic new caterer featuring the best BBQ in town ! If you like great smoked meats served up in heaping piles then NitroBBQ is for you! I have eaten plenty of BBQ in my day and Paul Lira's Nitro BBQ & Catering serves the best smokey savory meats I've ever had . I've been to 2 different parties he catered . The whole roasted pig was quite the show in prep and cook stages but was also delicious , moist , and tender to the bone ! Second time around I ate the pork roast , slab bacon , ham , and spare ribs . Every thing tasted great and his BBQ rig is a work of art dedicated smokey goodness .
I had a BBQ themed yard party and they showed up right on time. Chicken, burgers, links, and ribs. Her potato salad was awsome, the corn salad just as good. She supplied plates, plastic ware, and even thought to get the condiments (lettuce, tomato...mayo, mustard) for the burgers. Definately using again
Hello....My name is Donna and I am from Keller, Texas. My girlfriends and I shared a wonderful week in Napa Valley, California for my best friend's 50th birthday. The week was capped off by hiring Chef Sean to come to our rental house in Napa, and cook a fabulous meal for us. He worked ahead of time with the birthday girl to plan a menu, shop, and then gave us all a "mini cooking lesson" on-site. Chef Sean prepared delicious guacamole, salsas, and goat cheese stuffed peppers for appetizers, and then topped those off with grape and quinoa salad and shredded chicken tostadas with his special recipe roasted green chili sauce on top. Are you hungry yet? For a bunch of gals from Texas who are used to top notch Tex-Mex, this meal was off the charts scrumptious and added some Cali nuance to much needed over saturated Tex-Mex palettes. He handled 10 women easily with patience and charm. I highly recommend Chef Sean and would love to try some of his other cuisine styles on our next trip to Cali!
Fabulous experience! Chef Graham was incredible from first contact. This was our first big party at our home (60 people for a backyard buffet-style bbq) needless to say I was a little nervous but Graham eased my nerves with our first conversation. The menu he put together was outstanding! He communicated clearly and frequently during the planning process. The event went so smoothly. Graham and Eric were delightful and so kind. They took care of everything so that my husband and I were able to enjoy the evening without a worry. And now to the food...It was ridiculously delicious! The gourmet mac and cheese was a huge crowd pleaser. He also made skirt steak with chimichuri and pulled pork sliders with spicy tomato jam, roasted potatoes, quinoa with fresh veggies, and delicious salads. The presentation was a beautiful showcase of the food. It was gorgeous, pleasing to the eye and palate. He did a fantastic job with portions, it was the perfect amount of food. It was a pleasure having Graham in our home. The entire experience was beyond my expectations and I can't wait for our next feast! Several of our friends requested his business cards and are looking forward to planning their own dinner parties. Highest recommendation and compliments to the Chef! Thank you!
Best experience ever! I hosted my daughter's first birthday party and hired Kitchenina for the catering. The owners, Kostas and Aliki are professionals, very polite and will go out of their way to service you. They came on time for the party. The food was warm and delicious. I was raised in Greece and their Giant Mediterranean spicy beans are the best I have ever tasted:) The lamb roast, the tacos, the rice bowls and all the dishes we ordered are extremely tasty. I love they offer a variety of quality food from different cuisines and that it tastes home made. I would definitely recommend them and hire them again.
We had a staff appreciation dinner at Wag Hotels, Oakland. Since we're a new location, our budget was a little limited. Daniella was great, and willing to work with us to find a price point that fit our budget. She made a roast chicken with lemon and herbs, veggie lasagne, a mixed veggie salad with greens, and banana bread with dark chocolate. The chicken was moist and tender, the lasagne was (literally) some of the best I've ever tasted, and had a subtle, and unexpected spicy kick to it, and the vinaigrette dressing for the fresh and healthy veggie greens had the perfect balance of vinegar to oil. Finally, the banana bread: drool! Everyone commented on how good the food was, which made me extra happy since I was the one to suggest DaniBensimon Catering. Everything went off without a hitch. Thank you so much for the amazing meal, and I can't wait till the next corporate event to be able to taste your amazing food.
I had Rainbow chef cater a baby shower. Lana was very helpful in the planning and menu selection and offered some great suggestions. The mother to be was on some food restrictions so Lana worked around that too. They prepared a nice mid day Mediterranean inspired meal with chicken lettuce cups, roasted vegetables with tahini sauce, a wonderful bruschetta, fruit salad and cupcakes in assorted flavors. The feedback on the food was amazing. Jenny showed up with the food and prepared it on my serving trays. She was on time and left my kitchen counter clean. I would highly recommend Rainbow chefs and will use them for future parties.
Catered our New Years party for 16. Appetizers and food were excellent. Specializes in veggie, but did a meat course for us. All ingredients fresh, organic and gluten free. The gnocchi was to die for!

Lucas was the consummate professional all around. I truly enjoyed working with him - especially on such short notice. He was quick to respond in the planning stages. As for the meal, our group loved it. He cooked a spectacular prime rib roast with roasted vegetable. The homemade pasta with the saffron sauce was delicious. The amuse bouche and dessert were wonderful complements to the main courses. His server, Angel, was great, as well. I would highly recommend Lucas to anyone. Thanks for making our evening spectacular.
I was planning a family party with about 25 guests. Since I wanted to enjoy the party while everyone was here, I decided to get it catered. I requested bids on Thumbtack and received a few. I looked the caterers up on Yelp as well. Cooking with Traci had 50 reviews on Yelp and 49 of them were 5 star. I hired her and was very impressed with her communication, flexibility in planning the menu and suggestions. The day of the party, she arrived promptly and had everything ready as she promised. I had ordered salmon cakes with pesto dressing, roasted corn salad, green salad with fresh veggies and watermelon-feta salad. We also had two large loaves of freshly baked bread. Everything was so tasty and our guests loved it. I would definitely recommend Traci for catering. She also holds cooking classes in Berkeley. I hope to try one soon! Think about Traci for your next party!
Honestly some of the best vegan food I've ever had. It really surprised me that I felt satiated after not eating meat, something I'm not used to. Plus the combination of flavors and textures was far beyond anything I've had in plant-based cooking. Really happy we hired Nikolitsa to cook for our dinner party, you could tell there is real passion and joy in what she does. We highly recommend her!
Marisa has provided catering for several parties of mine, from intimate fine dining (herb and garlic prime rib roast) to parties of 50+ (build your own taco bar). Everytime she is spot on with the menus, tailoring it for different audiences. I just give her a general idea and she makes the magic happen! She has always been professional, prompt and friendly. Her food is delicious and I highly recommend all the meals she has made for me. I have had almost everything from vegetarian meals and salads to bbq and desserts. Very talented chef!
I recently hired Chef Knight for a fairly large dinner party here in the north Berkeley hills. We totaled eighteen, if my memory serves me. The menu he prepared looked truly incredible, but to all of our amazement and delight, tasted even better!! Everything came out perfectly on schedule and filled the dining room with aromas the likes of which you would not believe! Our menu: Chipotle-corn crab cakes with smoked tomato aioli. Braised lamb shoulder served on gorgonzola-scallion arepa with roasted jalapeno-mint chimmichurri. Maine lobster martinis with watercress, avocado, lightly dressed with lime-horseradish and worcestershire. Duck confit with pear and clove gastrique. The duck confit was the best I've ever had. Hands down. To be perfectly honest, I hesitated before writing this, for selfish purposes. You see, I simply don't want to share him!!

Lydia has made the most rich and delicious soup I've ever tasted. She also cooks everything from scratch. No cheating, she peels and roasts her own tomatillos, simmers down her own tomatoes, and boils her own beans. There are no shortcuts here and the results are fresh, clean, delicious food with no compromises.
I found St. John Event Production through a corporate event. The food was delicious and I especially liked the ambience Michelle created with the themed decorations, serving dishes, etc. I am always on the lookout for great caterers and service people so that I can offer the best to my clients, which is the reason for this review. I am an event planner and was orchestrating a wedding for a very savvy bride. She wanted a sophisticated reception in a classy venue and had a strict budget. After meeting with my usual top two caterers, I met with Michelle and Schuyler to get their ideas and I am so glad I took a chance and chose a St. John. Michelle offered many options and worked with me to create the perfect combination of delectable food and beverage options as well as creative props to transform the venue from a safely neutral space into a romantic, inviting room that reflected the bride and grooms personalities. My success is dependent upon delivering a stress free experience for the bride that exceeds her expectations. Because I am admittedly a control freak, Im sure I drove Michelle crazy with my constant phone calls to make sure everything was on track, but she was a total pro and was always one step ahead of me. Now, some specifics .. we decided on setting up food stations throughout the venue rather than a buffet. The coconut shrimp and samosa eggrolls were a couple of the favorites along with the roasted pear with candied pecans salad, the super tender short ribs, and bacon-wrapped scallops, not to mention the scrumptious deserts that accompanied the wedding cake (vanilla ice cream with caramelized pineapple and crispy crumbled topping was to die for). St. John provided not only the food and décor items, linens, chairs, tables, plates and flatware, but also a full bar, including bartender! The staff was very attentive and jumped in to help the florist as well as the venue manager to make sure every detail was in place. I was really impressed with how well they went out of their way to take care of the guests. The bride commented on the extra attention they paid to her elderly parents, bringing them their favorite menu items and keeping their champagne glasses full. I will definitely be hiring St. John again. They helped me deliver a wonderful event while making my job so much easier!
