Great experience with Reverb. Very communicative, easy to book. And my piano lessons were great.

Alex has been a pleasure to work with. He knows a ton about jazz piano and the lessons are well-organized. After a couple lessons, I've already learned a bunch of new stuff.

I had a little experience playing growing up and have enjoyed rediscovering piano with Dan. He's good at keeping a structure across lessons, motivating with new pieces and interesting drills. He's also super responsive to questions between lessons

Dan has been wonderful with my boys (ages 4&6). They started piano lessons with him About two months ago and my boys have been engaged, interested and excited about learning. Dan starts by teaching them concepts and makes each lesson fun and full of surprises. The boys really enjoy learning from him and I hope to continue to grow the relationship between Dan, my boys and the piano!

Jaren took the time to learn some pieces of music I was excited about before our first lesson. He is skilled enough that he is willing to teach by ear or by sheer music. I would highly recommend him for piano lessons. He is also super nice and professional

I've had two lessons with Ken so far, after returning from a 10 year hiatus from playing piano. He has been able to simplify aspects of piano playing that were previously unlearnable for me in just two hours! Ken is a passionate teacher, who makes learning fun. I'd happily recommend him to anyone wanting to learn piano and have fun doing it.

My 10 year old daughter has taken both voice and piano lessons from multiple professionals over the last 5 years. Until Dan came along, she never uttered the words.... “I’m so excited for my lesson this week!!!” She hates it when she misses a lesson because of travel/school conflicts and is always eager for her next lesson with Dan. We use him for both voice and piano for a full hour each week and it’s the best money we have spent given how he instills enthusiasm to learn the art of music with our daughter. Without hesitation, we would recommend him to anyone, children and adults alike!

Jeffrey is an outstanding piano teacher! I have been taking lessons with him for around a year and a half, and over that time I have grown a ton as a piano player; he has patiently taught me numerous aspects of jazz piano theory, helped me improve my piano technique tremendously, and guided me to mastery on many pieces in different musical styles (jazz, classical, jewish, and more). He is a knowledgable in many different areas of piano, and music in general, and strikes a great balance between pushing you to learn through theory + technique and having fun learning new songs + improvising.

I just started my piano lessons with Max! While I wasn’t sure how virtual lessons would be, Max was so great! He was able to help me figure out how to set everything up, and had me learning to read and even play a little bit of music at the end of lesson 1. For anyone new or looking to get back into learning to play an instrument, I definitely recommend Max!

Francis is a great piano teacher and I've really enjoyed working with him. He is extremely knowledgeable and puts a lot of thought and effort into our lessons. I've learned more than I thought I would in such a short amount of time which I think is a testament to how great of a teacher Francis is. I look forward to continuing to work with him and I highly recommend Francis for anybody looking for a piano teacher!!

Kelly’s approach to music theory had me playing chords and REAL SONGS (with both hands!) by the end of my very first piano lesson EVER. He’s patient and encouraging, while pushing you out of your comfort zone. Do NOT hesitate to book him!

I'm having a great time learning from Juan. I travel about an hour and a half to him from SF as I wanted an excuse to leave the city once a week. But I'm getting a lot out of the lessons and it's worth the long BART ride and walk. Juan is very knowledgeable about music theory and I appreciate his connecting technique and musicality with something theoretical or historical. I have taken mostly piano lessons but I tried out one voice lesson, which was also great. I would like to try another soon.

We love Dan - I have 2 kids, 11 and 7 who take weekly lessons from Dan. He’s extremely patient and thoughtful and has made piano fun for the kids. They went from 0 to showing recognizable results in just a few weeks. We highly recommend Dan!

Both my daughter and I knew some piano and singing before starting our lessons with Dan. Now he teaches piano to me; guitar and singing to my daughter. He observed our abilities (still beginner here!) on our first meeting and talked about our goals. I told him that for me, a mother of 4, I can’t have too much homework, and that I probably won’t have a lot of time to practice. I want to learn in a fun way but still want to be challenged. So far, we are doing just that! As for my daughter, she really loves her guitar and singing lessons, and having so much fun with Dan, and our family loves listening to their sessions from our family room…it’s like listening to a concert! I would totally recommend Dan! He is very knowledgeable, very professional, patient, friendly, gives notes after each session (so you don’t need to write down anything during lessons and just focus on playing), and gives specific activities and instructions on what to practice for the next lesson.

Francis is an excellent instructor who has made piano fun for me. During the first sessions, we spent time discussing goals, trying out new things, and diving into repertoire. He puts time, thought, and effort into each lesson to help me move at the right pace, and is always able to break down complexity into digestible pieces. He is also super responsive and accommodating with my schedule, and adjusts lessons accordingly so that they're always encouraging and helpful, never overwhelming. The virtual lessons over zoom are great, Francis has multiple cameras at different angles that are super helpful. He frequently shares notes, recordings, and pointers and responds to any questions I have throughout the week.

I wanted to learn how to improvise better after having played classical piano for 8 years. After a few lessons I’m getting really comfortable! Jeffrey works at my pace, and provides examples from the greats of jazz music to inform how I ought to think about scales, intervals, and improvisation. Great teacher and I can’t wait for more.

Clifford is a very knowledgeable and experienced pianist, with expertise in classical, jazz, theory, and pop. He also brought helpful theory books to complement the piano playing work. We did seem to have a few scheduling issues (last-minute rescheduling or getting a late start), and he occasionally got sidetracked during the lessons by showing embellishments or unintentionally moving on to more advanced techniques.

Alexi is a great teacher, I definitely recommend! I’m a piano beginner and he’s made the whole process of learning super approachable and easy to understand. He’s responsive, and you can tell he genuinely likes to teach. He tailors the lessons to your interests instead of just pushing a standardized curriculum, leaving you engaged and excited about what’s next. Five star teacher for sure!!

For context, I’ve been playing piano for 27 years but only trained for the former half of those years. I wanted to start lessons again to regain and refine techniques. Liam is unequivocally not only a talented pianist, but also a highly effective teacher. Liam’s coaching delivers on helping you find the right balance between technical discipline and creative expression. He is also intentional about helping you work towards your goals – within a short timeframe, I was able to improve and grow tremendously. Lastly, I’d be remiss if I didn’t call out his ability to motivate and champion his students with patience and encouragement. Highly recommend Liam as a piano teacher for all levels!

My 7 years old girl started her piano zoom lesson with Ms.Toby in Dec last year, at that time she had quit her class for half an year because of Covid. We’re so thankful to have Ms. Toby at this difficult time.  Ms. Toby is knowlegeable and skillful on piano playing. Her class is encouraging, approaching and patient. She tailors class on my daughter’s pace and favorite, combines theory, finger skills and music playing in each class. Now my girl is able to grab a small song after 2-3 classes, she’s alway excited for the next song. I’m so glad to see her make every progress.

I waited a few months to write this review, because I want to be certain before offering my recommendation. Matt is an incredible teacher, and a really wonderful person. I’ve been trying to learn piano for a few years now, and can get pretty demotivated. But honestly, after every lesson with Matt, I find myself smiling, surprised at what I’m capable of (he’s graciously encouraging), and excited to sit down and practice the next day. Lessons are tailored, fun, and super interesting. Matt is obviously talented and qualified, but he also cares deeply about teaching and helping others discover this thing he loves so much. I’m very thankful to have him as my teacher.

Jingjing operates from the premise that the musical composition illuminates the techniques required. I practice scales and exercises for finger strength, independence, and coordination. Yet they are in service of a higher order of musical expression, and not as mechanical repetitions in a vacuum. She provides delightful pieces to deconstruct and develop musicianship and technical mastery. My practice times during the week are mindful and efficient with clear goals. I am a beginning pianist, and I am always challenged but never overwhelmed. Jingjings’s observations are honest, and what she prescribes are logical and insightful. Her style is friendly and collaborative, and she leaves enough room for me to explore my musical ideas. Her musical knowledge helps me see the compositional structure and how to unify the piece. My musicianship and technique continue to improve steadily in our weekly lessons via zoom. As a 20 year classical singer, Jingjing has what I observed in the best teachers. They have the ability to transmit their expertise and instill in their students particular qualities-musical self-awareness, imagination, and vision that is required to become a true artist. She has the tools and skills to effectively teach both inexperienced and more advanced students. I currently use a good digital piano with weighted keys and hammer action due to living in an apartment. She is familiar with the digital pianos and their differences from acoustic pianos.
