About

Over the years I have received instruction from Donna through piano lessons and participation in various choirs she has conducted. I am impressed with her knowledge, expertise, kindness, and patience. I am especially thankful for the way I have been instructed to sing so that I do not harm my voice....and in the piano instruction that includes education in the instrument - its history and how it works - and arm and hand technique when playing.

About

This is simply piano! Everyone can play piano, and I can teach you how to play Amazing Grace in less than 5 minutes. I encourage my students to improvise and learn how to use their creativity to play songs. Students will learn how to read music and play songs with sight reading and chord structures.

About

As a lifelong guitarist who was self taught I decided that I needed to try my hand at a different instrument. I had always wanted to learn the piano so I decided to give it a go. Being a self taught musician, I had lots of bad habits that I took with me to my piano lessons with Stella. She was incredibly patient with me and helped me undo decades of bad practice habits along with teaching me good habits to replace them with. Her knowledge of music and her talent on the piano are clearly evident and she knows how to translate that into teaching others, which is an often challenging task. All in all, the lessons were a valuable experience that I would certainly recommended to anyone interested in learning piano.

About

I took jazz piano lessons from Jessica for a couple of months and she did a great job matching my personal learning goals. I got to learn cool voicings for chords and arrangement tips in different styles. I left with a solid understanding of how to practice on my own and work towards improvisation. Plus, it certainly helps that she's a great piano player as well!

About

I started taking piano lessons from Miles a year ago as a total beginner. He's taught me how to read music, play classical music, and even play a few rock and blues songs as well! My favorite part of the lesson is when I get to improvise while Miles plays with me. The lessons are always so fun and inspiring.

About

I have taken piano lessons from Lynn for ten years. She has been the best teacher I could ever imagine. I especially liked how she would mix up the songs that I was learning so I always had a fair mix of classical songs and popular songs. I feel that she really cares about me and my learning. She went above and beyond to constantly be finding music that would both challenge me and interest me.

About

I have been taking piano lessons with Jeffrey for the past year. Although I started taking lessons when I was young and have studied under other great teachers, Jeffrey stands out among them as exceptionally gifted. He is eternally patient and has a great sense of humor. I always look forward to seeing him. Besides his affability, the depth and breadth of his musical knowledge are hard to find, even among professionals. I would recommend him to anyone, regardless of age or proficiency.

About

Amy is a terrific teacher. An outstanding, Curtis-trained musician herself, Amy brings the exacting precision of high level artistry to her pedagogy, but at the same time makes it fun. She is a perfectionist with regard to technique and focuses in with laser precision on flaws in bowing, finger position, wrist flexibility, posture and, of course, the myriad elements of musical interpretation. You really feel like you've gotten a thorough work out by the time it's over, yet she's always cherubic! She also makes it seem like a mutual, adventurous discovery, even though it's all got to be cello 101 for her--which I appreciate since I'm an older student. She happily shares her vast knowledge, spanning all periods of music from the medieval to the post-modern, and has thoughtful insights on musicology, currents in musical development, even theories of tuning. A talented pianist, Amy can accompany on the piano as well, which is a bonus. But when she accompanies you on the cello, she makes even a beginner sound like a pro. She also speaks excellent Italian! Perhaps the greatest compliment I can add after all this is that I bring my daughter for cello lessons with Amy as well. I recommend her to cellists at any level from beginner to pros just needing an intelligent set of ears.

About

My daughter and I both took piano lessons from Kevin and had a great experience. Along with being exceedingly competent in many aspects of music, Kevin has an engaging personality that kept my daughter connected to the piano and had us both looking forward to the time spent with him.

Sharon has been teaching my son Geno piano for a little over a year now. I can honestly say she changed his life and improved his piano skills tremendously. He went from playing simple music by ear to reading and playing complicated music. Because of his ability to read music he was able to participate in school performances and participate in music competitions. Sharon was patient, sweet and stern at the same time. Geno had many piano teachers before Sharon but he hated the Sharon had been teaching my son Geno for a little over a year now. About

I really take the time to connect with my students and give them the best possible tools to be able to learn their instrument. I am very interactive with them, and thorough in showing them what to do and how to do it. I provide all my students with a detailed assignment/practice schedule with specific comments at the end of each lesson. Every student receives an electronic homework assignment at the end of their lesson that details assignments and any specific comments from class along with practice suggestions. I love that I am able to share my passion and talents and hopefully pass them along to all of my students. I feel that music is such a big part of life that not a lot of people really think deeply about, but it is so important in our development. My goal is to help to open my students to the possibilities of enlightenment music can bring to their lives.
