Nicole was outstanding! She helped our son raise his composite ACT score from a 20 to a 27 in only 7 weeks! As a senior, this was our son's last chance to raise his ACT score. Prior to the April test, we had enrolled him in 16 weeks of group classes; His math score only increased 1 point and reading increased 2. In less than half the time and for about half the money, Nicole helped AJ increase math by 7, reading and science by 8, and English by 5. She tailored the lessons to AJ's background and learning style. Her approachable manner and disarming personality immediately put AJ at ease -making it easier for him to learn. Nicole made herself available to answer questions at ALL times, day or night, which was unbelievably helpful! She is extraordinarily knowledgeable about both the ACT and new SAT. Regarding the entire college application process, she is a wealth of information and advice! We were so lucky that she was able to fit AJ into her packed schedule, and we will be forever grateful for everything she did for him and us!
Arbor Tutors has the best program out there to prepare yourself for the MCAT. I'm very impressed with the quality and the education of the tutors. It's like everyone here has an Ivy League education.
We met and subsequently hired Saili to tutor our gifted and talented son. She is impressive and we look forward to working with her.
I wish we would've started with Arbor Tutors in the beginning. Very impressed with the quality of service I received from them. The flexibility is unbelievable. I love how you can split your hours between different tutors. I was able to use some hours for chemistry, some hours for math and some hours for English.
Maria pinpoints how a learner best learns and takes her time to teach to her student's learning needs. I am confident that I will accomplish my long-held goal of speaking Spanish under Maria's tutelage.

I appreciate Ann as an online tutor. Ann is a certified Reading Interventionist with a big heart for helping kids succeed in the area of reading. I met Ann through a group I created called The Ultimate Support Group for Online Tutors. She is always willing to help others, be of service, speak at conferences, and share her knowledge. I have had the opportunity to watch Ann teach lessons to kids through videos she has submitted to me, and I was impressed with how well she connected with her students and how effective she was as a tutor. You would have to be crazy not to hire Ann.
Dr. Heger has exceeded our expectations on so many levels. Our teenage daughter wanted to brush up on her french before returning to it in school, so we looked for a tutor and practiced using some computer based language lessons. First and foremost Dr. Heger has the most beautifully resonant voice. She speaks slowly, and richly. You can clearly hear the proper accent and pronunciation every time. The difference between her voice and any recorded practice is like night and day. And of course you get a much more natural back and forth with a real person. She is infinitely patient, or it is probably more accurate to say she obviously enjoys teaching. We started with an hour appt. and upped it to an hour and a half because my daughter said the time just "whipped by" and it was so fun. Really! A teenager in french class! Dr. Heger has a fascinating history and I am so grateful she has shared this with us. I thought we were getting a tutor but we stumbled on a true gem. We highly recommend her to anyone wanting to learn french for school, work or travel.
Audrey is a highly skilled, friendly, and emotionally intelligent tutor. I have had zero experience with Spanish and she has been very patient in teaching me the basics. Her attitude is very comforting, yet professional and I don't feel hesitant in asking the simplest questions I may have regarding my learning experience. I will highly recommend Audrey for anyone who wants to improve their conversational or literally skills in Spanish.

Interaction is the strategy to learning a second language. Interaction allows the cultural background, structure of the language, meaning of the spoken, reading, and writing words, to be communicated to the student. Knowing a second language is an asset to the student, and allows the value of recognition of another culture besides their own. It is a cognitive awareness that develops during the learning process of a second language. I am a native Spanish speaker and a retired elementary school teacher.
I have been a professional tutor for the last 2 years and have helped students achieve their goals in all levels of math, reading, and writing. From teaching 4th-6th grades to serving as a senior outdoor education instructor, I have held many roles in education. I currently hold a professional license to teach in the state of Colorado and am a certified Calming Kids Yoga instructor. I also helped revamp the curriculum for the National Youth Leadership Training Institute with the Boy Scouts of America. I have experience with Everyday Math, Singapore Math, Every Child a Reader, DIBBELS, Readers and Writers Workshop, and other elementary programs. Clients can expect my tutoring sessions to be targeted to the individual needs of my students. We will use a variety of mediums to meet the needs of the student. I believe that communication is critical between teachers, tutors, and families to help maximize our time together. I typically meet families in their home for 1-2 times per week. Having a professional teaching license, I am quite familiar with the goals and objectives of an elementary curriculum and seek to connect students in engaging ways with the material. I believe that hands-on education helps provide opportunities for all students to critically analyze our world. One such example of capitalizing on little loved resources came when I tutored a lesson on the rock cycle to a small group of students. Out of the box, I deliberately selected the worn down, wrapper-less, seemingly uninspiring crayons that most students would throw away in an effort to be creative. These brave little volunteers would serve as my test subjects. Slowly, I cut the crayon bits into small chunks. One could feel the excitement in my room! After taking turns pounding on the tin foil to represent pressures within the Earth, we exposed the crayons to heat via a dumpster dived candle and reused piece of tin foil leftover from our mystery meat camp dinner. My students synthesized their own theories before we compared what actual Stem scientists had concluded. And, best of all, this lesson used recycled materials!
I am a native speaker in English and Spanish. I have multicultural knowledge and currently work as a Elementary teacher
