I have had a few lessons with Mike now, and its been great all along. Mike really focused on what I wanted to learn, what my shortcomings were, and designed the lessons that way. He's easy going and fun to learn from. Highly recommend him for guitar lessons!

Mike is an amazing instructor. He teaches me songs I want to learn based on my skill level. This makes me really look forward to our lessons because I'm learning stuff I want to. I am an adult learning guitar and I have been given the same amount of encouragement that he would his other "younger" students :) I highly recommend the guitar lessons at Sollohub.

Great school! Had been learning guitar on my own for a while and got stuck in a rut so I decided to try out lessons. Russ has been a great teacher and I've learned a ton of new techniques that I never would have tried on my own. Very laid back and flexible. Would recommend to anyone.

We love working with Moises! After just two weeks of tutoring, my daughter said "Now I understand the mistakes I have been making in math and I also understand how to do it right next time. I am starting to like math." Moises knows how to teach so that the information goes from short term memory to long term memory. We also have my son taking guitar lessons with Moises. He loves it so much he has requested lessons twice a week. We feel fortunate to have found someone who can work effectively with a student with ADD and that is an overall great teacher and kind person.

Our son has been taking classical guitar lessons from Rick Pruitt for almost four years now. One of the things we most appreciate about Rick is the positive way in which he relates to his students. In both group and individual lessons, Rick really engages with the kids to encourage them in their love of the instrument. During the year, he provides multiple opportunities to perform at coffee shop recitals which are a wonderful and inviting way to both develop and improve performance skills. We would highly recommend Rick as a guitar instructor.

Michael Chodosh is an amazing guitar instructor that 5 stars give no justice!!! He is extremely kind, understanding, reliable, humors, and works well with all of his students individually and in group lessons. He is very responsive to what you want to learn and get out of your individual guitar experience. He is helpful and will get you in tune with the way you will best learn guitar, no matter your situation. I myself was in a car accident and was left with pain and cognitive deffacites, but Michael was able to help me work through it and bring it to a level that was understandable and obtainable for me! He is well educated in his teachings and takes on the roll of a warm hearted mentor just as well for anyone, any age. You will most definitely enjoy and get the most of your lessons and time at Chodosh Guitar!

ABC Music Academy is the place to send students of any age who aspire to become quality musicians. Lori's musical experience and abilities are top notch on any of the instruments she teaches. She enjoys teaching younger students and makes their lessons creative and encouraging. She communicates well with parents and plans performing opportunities for even the youngest beginner while including students who are more skilled. She also plans events for the Christmas season and other community opportunities. She is simply the best, and I would highly recommend her.

There are many good guitarists out there. There are many good teachers out there. It is a rare thing, however, to find a good teacher as well as a good guitarist all wrapped up into a neatly organized, always on time, affordably priced package. Chris, while being a masterful guitarist and skilled bandleader, juxtaposes this with a no quit attitude when it comes to what his students are capable of. I have been a student of Chris’s for over 8 years now, and I find that every lesson I learn something new. He is also capable of teaching much more than guitar if you ask him to. Unlike your stereotypical guitar teacher who views their teaching as a “day job” and their music as their passion, with Chris they are one and the same. In fact, when I was in 5th -8th grade, I organized a group of students to be in a band with me called “Demolition”. Not only did Chris embrace my creativity, he also encouraged it and helped us develop our own songs, rather than copy others. In fact, Chris does not teach guitar so that one can copy others’ music, but rather teaches you others’ music in the hope you will use it as inspiration for your own. Chris teaches things that cannot be quantified by normal metrics. He can teach you what 4/4 timing is, but he can also teach you how to “Jam Out!” and just have a good time. Because at the end of the day, if your not having fun, you won’t stick through the hard parts. Chris can, however, teach you a song- note-for-note if that is your style. When I attended Kent Denver high school, Chris taught me every single note of Santana’s leads in the song “Smooth”, which I later performed at the top Jazz club in Denver, “Dazzle”. Not only did Chris make that possible, but he also drove down from where he lives in Boulder, Colorado and stayed for every last second of the show. It was and is the highlight of my years with Chris. Teaching notes from a book is one thing, but teaching them from ear is another thing entirely. Chris has an amazingly accurate ear. He can tune a guitar better then my most expensive tuner. But most of all Chris recognizes that the student-teacher relationship is a two way street. He is constantly evolving his style as students introduce him to new material. It is that open minded and gentle teaching style that makes Chris the perfect guitar teacher especially for young people. Like Michelangelo said, “I am still learning,” and so is Chris.

      About

We are a home-based studio. Our home has been converted with multiple sound-proofed areas included a space with a waiting area and a large viewing windows for parents of students. My wife, Rachel teaches piano and toddler music classes under the name Monkey Musik. I teach drums, guitar, and trumpet in a separate studio space of our home. We have taught students of all ages and skill levels for nearly 10 years. I take drum students starting at age five. I have a child-sized set and an adult sized set to accommodate any size of student from beginner to moderate skill levels. I take guitar/ukelele students starting at age seven. I can help recommend a new instrument for students if they don't have one. I don't teach tabs. I teach using a classical method that focuses on learning to read and understand written music. I also blend chord knowledge with classical knowledge from beginner to advanced skill levels. I take trumpet students starting at age 9-10 or younger on a case-by-case basis. For beginner trumpet students, I will focus on how to form an embouchure and how to play notes in the first octave. With more advanced students, I focus on range, tone, accuracy, and endurance. For moderate-advanced students, I teach from Arbans.

      About

I have been playing guitar for more than 15 years. I can teach beginner to intermediate level. I have more of a free-range approach to teaching than a rigid program.
