I’m not a strong math student at all. I can honestly say that Lyceum worked with me until I had a clear understanding of the math (algebra 2) that was in front of me. If you’re looking for someone who not just understands the subject but has an enthusiasm for it, look no further.

I came across Dave Markham on a recommendation from a fellow parent and hired him to tutor my elder son in math. In Geometry he raised his grade from a D+ to an A-, quite a feat! He always showed up exactly on time and was uber reliable, conscientious and fabulous. He brought all his own computer gear and teaching techniques. We used him for 4 years from 9th through 12th grades, tutoring in Algebra 1+2, Geometry, Trig and Calculus. We also used him for Chemistry. My younger son is now tutoring with him via his online system, rather than in person. It works great too, his grade having gone from a C to an A. Dave is honest and hardworking and really helps the kids understand the subject matter. We are so grateful for him. I highly recommend him with the utmost enthusiasm. If you can get Dave, you're really lucky.

The very first session my son was engaged (1 1/2 hrs) asking questions, actively learning and wrote down a question to ask his teacher. He later told me he learned more from Eve in that one session than all of the 1:1 time spent with his math teacher. My son is typically done with an assignment in 15 minutes I don't know how she kept him engaged so long in something that is so difficult for him! I would, without reservation recommend her to anyone seeking math support.

We have 3 children at Hamden Hall who Beth has helped out immensely this year with their Math/Algebra! We just love her! The kids enjoy her easy going style and after a session with her they are feeling more confident and better prepared. My daughter received the highest grade on her math final after being tutored by Beth! 5 Stars from our family!

Jer is an all around great tutor. The range of subjects he can help with is truly amazing. We hired him to help with standardized testing, AP Statistics and AP Calculus. He has a great demeanor, he is well prepared for lessons, and he is really able to explain concepts very well which is the key. I highly recommend him!

Veronique is a joy to work with! She is patient and kind, which is critical when learning a new language. She paces the student appropriately, and offers many resources for augmenting the lessons, and is always readily available for questions. She's a delight to be with, and charges fair prices.

Ms. G is a wonderful math tutor. My daughter in 7th grade was struggling with pre-algebra. Ms. G tutored her throughout the year and she went for failing to a B+. My daughter enjoyed the sessions and felt well prepared after they met. She also helped to boost confidence which has helped in all of her classes. Truly a delight!

Dan is a great teacher. I've always been good at math but I hate Geometry and it was affecting my grade average. I was having a really hard time understanding the lessons. Dan helped me bring my grades up and now I actually enjoy Geometry. Dan has a way of making Geometry look easy. I would definitely recommend Dan as a math tutor.

About

I will tutor you to the best of your understanding. I make the subject easy and fun to understand. You would end up saying how this experience was.

About

Most teachers, like me, are professional musicians who supplement their income by giving lessons. However: I genuinely love teaching and would happily do it even if I didn't need the money. My students can see the passion and excitement I have for my work, and that does wonders in their ability to learn and develop. It is one thing to play an instrument well, but it is another thing entirely to know how to teach it well.

About

I will be teaching advanced and basic art skills. I teach how to use digital art software. I will be teaching you how to study better.

I am an actor, a musician, and singer who can give very helpful acting, singing, guitar, and piano lessons for beginner-intermediate level students. I have a lot of experience in these fields, and I will take any age. I can also help with math or reading/writing tutoring sessions! I don't have a lot of tutoring experience, but I am more than proficient in these fields.

About

I have a lot more passion for music than others, which I try to inspire in my students in the way I was inspired by my teachers. I'm also very committed to music and I work hard and care for each individual student.

About

I began my study of guitar in 2002, learning from a jazz guitarist who's established in the local music scene. My musical training continued through college when, in 2008, I began studying music at Northeastern University, majoring in music with a concentration in history and analysis. While at Northeastern, I took guitar lessons from faculty and performed in the University's Jazz Choir as well as its blues rock ensemble. Simultaneously, I gained experience in teaching guitar, working at a music and youth initiative music clubhouse. At the music clubhouse, I acted as a mentor and guitar teacher to the under-served youth.
