I spoke with Dennis extensively before my first lesson and he assured me that he would be able to teach me how to play guitar. Dennis informed me that I would know the fret board and would know a song by the end of my first lesson. He asked me to give him eight lessons and he would prove to me that he can teach me to play the guitar. I was very hesitant in hiring Dennis because of all the past experiences I have had with other instructors. So, I decided to give Dennis a shot at this challenge. Dennis will be my final guitar instructor. If he can't teach me no one can. I have had 6+ guitar instructors since I started playing and taking guitar lessons as a New Year's resolution in 2016. I have struggled in this journey and I started to think that maybe playing guitar just wasn't for me. The time and money I was spending with other instructors and saw no progression was making me think this way. I have been playing and taking lessons for over a year now and still do not know one complete song from beginning to end. I have always wanted to play the guitar and want to possibly make this a second income source by playing for the public. Dennis arrived at my home for my first lesson this past Tuesday. He introduced himself and is very laid back and friendly but professional. We immediately went to work and he informed me again of what we were going to accomplish in that first lesson. That is exactly what happened! By the end of my first lesson I knew the fret board and learned how to play the song Knockin on Heaven's Door. He taught me more in the first hour than other instructors did in several lessons. I felt like a weight had been lifted off of me, because he made me feel like I can accomplish this journey of learning to play the guitar. Dennis does charge a higher price per lesson then any of my other instructors and his technique is wellworth it! Especially when you are in the comfort of your own home and who doesn't already feel comfortable with where they live? I know that I have only had one lesson with Dennis but he is encouraging and has excited me again about playing the guitar. Dennis delivered what he said he was going to do and that means a lot to me! As I told Dennis in one of our initial conversations, he will be my last guitar instructor. Because he will either teach me or guitar really isnt for me...
Jake is a really knowledgeable guitar player and teacher. I started at an intermediate level and he really elevated my performance standards and gave me great finger strengthening exercises and assignments. I'm confident he could teach any level of guitar.
My 9 year old daughter had never picked up a guitar before taking lessons with Brenden. She's doing great and is falling in love with it already. I'm so impressed that he's not just teaching her how to play the notes but everything from good posture to proper positioning to reading music. Brenden is personable, patient and professional (alliteration not intended). I would recommend him to anyone wanted to learn from scratch or hone your craft. He's a great teacher.
Rob does a great job making my bass lessons fun and engaging, and is great at matching the material to the individual student. I really like that he writes things down for you to reference later and answers questions well. He's definitely taken the intimidation out of learning an instrument. Overall, he's very professional and is a teacher I'd recommend to anyone.
I came to American rock school as an adult 38-year-old wanting to get better at playing guitar. I had taken lessons from five teachers over the previous four years. I thought that basic chords and scales were about all I would ever be able to play. I am not a musically talented person, I just enjoy music. American rock school has taught me to hammer on, pull off, bend strings, add tremolo, and play most every chord shape on the guitar. Now I can jam along with all my favorite songs which is something I thought I would never be able to do. The school also puts students together to form bands, it gives kids the opportunity to feel like a rockstar and play on stage, they even get some public events.
We are thrilled with our son's music lessons at Maestro Maines Studio! Our son has had both drum lessons and steel pans lessons, and he has enjoyed both! In fact, he loves the steel pans class so much that he looks forward to that class all week. As a homeschool family, I am thrilled that homeschool classes will be added starting in January, along with a group steel pans class. Yippee! It's businesses like this that make me love our community. Give it a try! Your kiddo(s) will probably love it!
carl is a nice guy. He plays verbatim his resume. He comes from a place of classical study and this is his offer to any student who desires the ability to play guitar. I think his genius playing ability built through laborious years of technique and nuance are also his restriction for he only holds court in this arena. (i.e classical, flamenco, ragtime, jazz). These are abilities that are important and through the journey of attaining this sound in your resume, you may find yourself flourishing in other areas in life as well. You may also find yourself building a wall so insular that you can only relate to ghosts of strings past. Carl may not be for me because my journey on guitar, though littered with cob webs, is not paved in high society ethos and arduous hours of technique in pursuit of a classical idiom; however, Carl and his knowledge of the latter mentioned genres and means to attain them are very important. Not only am I happy he is out there, I went to bed last night wishing I was 10 again just so I could start all over and re-learn guitar with that basic development of European and South American guitar technique. So goto Carl, learn the history of guitar integrity and begin the journey of a lifetime.
The best school in the Orlando area. I was having a very hard time finding a music teacher to come and give lessons to my children for both piano and guitar. I live way out in Windermere and no one would come out this way. Elite Music Instruction had one teacher that teachers both guitar and piano, so it made this whole thing even easier. I recommend Elite Music Instruction to all my fiends and to you too.
I try to teach myself guitar through the internet... and I think it back fired. Rob was able to work with me with my odd mixed background. He has the great ability to work with you and utilize what you already know to help learning new material. We got started by reworking some foundational issue and some music theories. Then we added some finger exercises to build up strength and dexterity. We also set some short term and long term goals to work towards and look forward to. To top it off, he is able to work around my miserable schedule and is very flexible to accommodate my needs. I should have just saved myself the headaches and take some lessons right away instead of trusting the internet (never trust the internet). Highly recommend.
Cameron is the "ultimate" professional! He is an incredible musician and an inspiring guitar instructor who has taught me virtually everything I know about playing the guitar. Cameron is truly a pleasure to work with!
I have only communicated with Mr. Toms to discuss my needs and to review his work. We have scheduled the first lesson. However, He has been very pleasant to work with thus far. Our first guitar lesson is scheduled for 5/9/15.
I have some difficulty playing the guitar due to a neurological condition and he is very patient teaching me. I have never taken music lessons. I also like his entusiam and motivates me in each lesson
I am the owner of DG Rockers Guitar and Music School, a private music school located in Brooklyn, NY. Mr. Valentín has served as music instructor as well as music director for over 2 years at my school. Based on my experience, I believe his dedication, passion, knowledge, and innovation have proved to make him an amazing teacher. I first met Francisco on October of the year 2013 when he was interviewing for the position of piano instructor at my school and I remember right away knowing that he would be a great fit. His humility and passion towards serving others was evident right away. Francisco has an incredible gift of being able to connect with young people through music. Over the years I saw Francisco take initiative and build up the music program, composing songs mindfully catered to his students’ musical development, creating his own music learning sheets, inventing comparisons and games to help his students better understand musical concepts, and even simplifying more advanced musical exercises such as the Hanon techniques so that his students could begin strengthening their coordination and technique right from the beginning. I also witnessed him bringing an idea we brainstormed together to life by creating fun and effective rock band classes and putting together concerts with me to showcase our students’ achievements. His upbeat, positive, and kind demeanor was always a great source of inspiration for our students, their parents, and his peers. The passion with which he taught each class cultivated a love for music in every student’s heart that I believe has left a lasting imprint. We always believed in building a sense of community with our students and their parents. This was something that Mr. Valentín was very passionate about, to the extent that he became a mentor and positive role model to our students, catching up with them every class, advising them positively on all matters musical and non-musical, and even bringing them Christmas gifts. He also became a great friend to our family of parents, always treating them with respect, kindness, and talking with them after classes. I believe Mr. Valentín would be a tremendous teacher for anyone and has my utmost recommendation. Emily Jones is the perfect teacher for guitar lessons. She cared about what I wanted to learn and how I wanted to learn. Emily is a genuinely kind and nonetheless a talented musician.
patient and kind guy. very knowledgeable of his craft. Great motivator.
Brian was a fantastic piano and guitar instructor for my daughter. He truly makes learning fun for a teenager. He was always on time, patient during lessons, and his amazing talent was inspirational. Plus he has a great personality and gets along well with parents. His fees are very fair, too. (My daughter stopped lessons because she went off to college.).....Additionally, Brian is a wonderful entertainer for parties. He recently played at my mother's 85th birthday bash. EVERYONE loved his beautiful classical guitar music.
I've been playing guitar for about 7 years. I am experienced in live gigs and bands. I teach anything from classical to pop, rock and blues. I work for a reasonable price of $15 an hour, with a very flexible schedule.
The quality of my lessons to the money you pay is second-to-none. I am a college student, who loves playing guitar and learning about music. I bring that passion, and knowledge to my students in a way that they can APPLY IT. Time and time again , I see students quit their instruments because the teacher is basically lecturing the student on music theory, scales, genres, etc. Whenever I teach a topic I try to explain the students why it is important, and show the student what they can do with the information I am giving them. For example, teaching the student all of the major pentatonic scales in each key is great. However, if you do not learn how to phrase those scales together you can never write a solo. My hands on approach to teaching will leave your impressed with your knowledge about guitar and music in no time.
I am an experienced, passionate and friendly guitar teacher. If you have the interest and are willing to learn, I can teach you guitar. It's the best thing that's ever happened to me, and I can't wait to share it with you. My rates: * 30 minutes / $30 * 60 minutes / $50 * 90 minutes / $70
I have a very strong background in music theory, and I play professionally for 2 bands as well as solo with a loop pedal. I can teach you whatever you would like to learn, and I have a very patient and descriptive teaching style.
Learn to play your favorite songs, develop a deeper understanding of music theory, learn how to write songs, or take your playing to the next level.
