He is awesome, great teacher, very patient with a novice drummer..recommend highly!
I have really enjoyed my guitar lessons with Matt. I love that Matt allows students to start learning by focusing on their areas of interest. Matt is always flexible with my very busy schedule. Thanks for great lessons, Matt!
I have known and worked with Jeff for 10 years, he is always very professional and competent. Taking guitar lessons increased my understanding and use of jazz chords dramatically and moved my playing to another level. Great instructor.
I have had Chris as a guitar instructor for about 6 months now. I wasn't sure what to expect when I hired Chris through Thumbtack but it has worked out really well. He knows just about everything there is to know about guitars. He will write out lessons for you, tailored to what your interests are and current skill level as a guitarist are. He is able to see where you are making mistakes and give advice on what to do to avoid repeating them. He has also done several amazing guitar setups for myself and my dad now which have been worth their weight in gold. In addition to being a guitar instructor, I have found that Chris knows a great deal about music production, mixing and mastering. He has been able to offer good advice recently as I setup my home studio and move toward posting some of my arrangements on YouTube. I highly recommend Chris for all serious guitar students out there. Get practicing!
Dennis Genovese is Central Floridas best-kept secret for Mixing/Remixing/Mastering, Editing and producing audiobooks and here's why: He's honest. He shared with me candidly that he had never produced an audiobook for Amazon prior to our meeting. His resume clearly distinguished him as a proven artist and master teacher. I was impressed that he took it upon himself to research Amazon's requirements and to ensure that our product would in fact meet and exceed their needs. He is professional. He goes above and beyond what is expected. His recommendations for background music and other audio selections were spot on and most appreciated. The fact that he researched these music selections 'off the clock' was impressive. He is a master editor and sound engineer. He has an uncanny ability to know what is listenable and most attractive to a client. I recommend Dennis highly. I am grateful that our paths have crossed. I will definitely use him again and am excited about our next project! My only hesitation in promoting him is selfish: Denis is incredibly skillful and I hope he does not get too busy so I can continue to enjoy his services. Please call me personally if I can answer any further questions at 650 678 6775. Respectfully, Michael Hutchison www.MichaelHutch.com www.stopitbook.com www.credibilitylive.com
Gabriel is a great instructor. I have only been taking lessons for about a month and I'm amazed at how I've progressed. He makes it all very easy to grasp. I definitely recommend.
I began my guitar lessons with Dave Garski initially knowing nothing at all about music theory or how to play the guitar. By the time that I ended my lessons with him three years later I was able to figure out and write my own music. I as well learned and became comfortable with many different scales. What I appreciated about Daves Teaching methods was the one and one teaching style. I think it allowed for a more personalized education plan that was custom tailored to my specific needs, in my areas of strength/difficulties in music. While a appreciated the free form teaching methods that he also practiced, I would have preferred teaching that was a bit more structured. Overall I have to say that I had an incredibley positive experience from Dave Garski's "guitar lessons orlando" and would, if I still had the financial means, continue my lessons with him if I could.
Two years of guitar lessons now for our son. He really enjoys it and has gone from a complete beginner to playing along with his favorite songs (and quite well) on his ipod or the radio.
If you are expecting someone who will sit down and go from one end of the book to the other like a drone, Jennifer is not for you. If you want someone who will take a good measure of your abilities and then go from there, she is perfect. In addition to theory and the usual work, you will learn to play by ear, chords, and progressions. Each piece of music will be geared toward your musical preferences and to stretch your skill. Our daughter looks forward to class, something she has never done with another piano teacher. There is no need to remind her to practice because she wants to do it. We definitely recommend Jennifer.
I had the opportunity to play with Alfredo professionally for over twenty years. He is an excellent musician and guitarist. His knowledge of musical forms and the technical aspects of the guitar makes him a valuable resource. I recommend Alfredo without reservation as guitar teacher for beginners who want to learn the basics and for those professional and advanced students more interested in learning advanced and sophisticated aspects of the guitar including complex styles as bossa nova, samba, tango and other Latin American rhythms on which Alfredo is a true scholar . It will be a privilege for any student to have Alfredo as a teacher and guide in learning the guitar.
There are just so many good things I can say about the Downtown Guitar School. My three years of lessons with Roger were truly a delight. A hectic and demanding work schedule forced me to put the lessons aside for a while, but I hope to return one day soon. For starters, Roger is a wonderful musician, singer and songwriter, with a superb understanding of music theory. For me, among the many things that make him special is his ability to translate those skills and that knowledge into a language that the student can understand and benefit from. His enthusiasm, calm demeanor and wonderful sense of humor help to make the lessons a delight. I had the great fortune to be one of the Downtown Guitar School’s first students. I started my lessons much later in life than many – I was in my late 50s – and I had a bit of experience with the guitar. That really means that I knew three or four of the basic chords. Roger did an excellent job of evaluating just what I did know about the guitar and music, and he was able to create a lesson plan that would work best for me. And one of the wonderful things about the lesson plan was that it was flexible. In our lessons, in learning new songs, as I would bring in questions, or examples of guitar playing that struck my fancy, Roger was willing to divert a bit from our planned course to answer the questions and to explore and explain various riffs or chord progressions that caught my ear. Roger’s patience was remarkable, and I did more than my share of testing it. He is willing to move along as fast as you like – as long as progress is being made – or to take all the time necessary. Some of the great memories that will always stay with me were the public performances – recitals – that we did. I had little interest in, in fact had a great deal of fear about, performing in front of a room filled with people. The performances were an absolute delight. Roger worked hard to make sure we were all prepared for the performances and he was right there on stage with us, putting us completely at ease. By the end of the first performance I absolutely understood the lure of the stage for a performer. My time with the Downtown Guitar School has truly been a life changer. I find some time, even if it is just a few minutes, to play the guitar every day now. It is one my great joys in life. At times I wish I had run across something like the Downtown Guitar School 40 years ago, but I am so grateful it was there when I truly was ready to embrace the guitar.

I am offering lessons to beginners on electric and acoustic guitar at affordable prices. I have 15 years of experience on guitar, as well as brass and woodwind instruments.
New To Thumbtack
I am not a professional teacher by any means, but I have played guitar for over six years and would have no issues teaching beginner lessons. I can play any style you or your child would like to learn at a low rate. This is more for fun than for money.
