Right away Susan was open to what I was looking for in a music lesson and what I was looking for in a teacher. She not only has wonderful techniques to show you in order to open up your voice but she has a wonderful personality and is willing to work with you in a positive way. She has encouraged me to work hard and has been very helpful in finding the music that appeals to me and my taste. I couldn't be happier with Susan as my teacher and I would recommend her to anyone that wants to improve their singing abilities.
Rob does a great job making my bass lessons fun and engaging, and is great at matching the material to the individual student. I really like that he writes things down for you to reference later and answers questions well. He's definitely taken the intimidation out of learning an instrument. Overall, he's very professional and is a teacher I'd recommend to anyone.
Ryan is easy to work with, very personable and has an extensive background knowledge of guitar. The lessons are fun.
Jack is giving me guitar lessons. I think he does a good job. He explains things in easy to follow terms. He is also very patient. That is a good thing when your a total rookie. I would recommend him to someone else.
My 9 year old daughter had never picked up a guitar before taking lessons with Brenden. She's doing great and is falling in love with it already. I'm so impressed that he's not just teaching her how to play the notes but everything from good posture to proper positioning to reading music. Brenden is personable, patient and professional (alliteration not intended). I would recommend him to anyone wanted to learn from scratch or hone your craft. He's a great teacher.
We hired Vincent for drum lessons for our 4 year old. It was his first experience with music and Vincent was very patient with him. We liked him so much my wife takes piano lessons from his as well.
I may have taken a little while to get a group together for the piano group class. But everything goes well. Everyone's so friendly and helpful in the Conservatory! I'm glad I made the decision to come here. I recommend anyone who's interested in learning piano to come here!
I started piano lessons in January and was not "getting"it. After two (2) instructors left, Debra was our new piano teacher. Debra is organized and very engaging to all her students. She instructs and inspires me to understand a variety of music and is 100%devoted to a positive. Highly recommended!
Very satisfied with the entire experience. THe lessons are going wonderfully.
I have only been here once to try and see if the guitar was for me. While I am still not sure if I like the guitar enough to play it, the people here were wonderful. My primary contact was with Dave, who was courteous and helpful every time we spoke. Miles was our instructor for our "try it" session and he was extremely patient and knowledgeable. It was evident that music theory and guitar playing were a passion of his...a definite must to be able to teach(at least in my opinion)
I began learning to play the cello with Gonca about ten years ago while in high school. She started me off learning the Suzuki method. She provided ample feedback and experienced advice on the nuances of performing during my learning, which is difficult to find in other experienced performers. Whenever I reached an impasse in my practices she would provide me with alternative studies to break through those difficulties. She strives to teach more than just the ability to play, but to cultivate the maturity to become a superb performer. Though it has been a few years since I moved away and had the pleasure to study under Gonca Huff, I am always thinking back to her instruction on every new musical challenge.
KeriAnne is such a wonderful person and has made my singing improve so much. It is so much fun working with her and the improvement in my voice is unbelievable. I have learned so much about my voice and how I use it. She is amazing.
My name is Justin E. Walden, and I am from East Tennessee. My musical heritage stretches back to age 8 when I first started to learn how to play the guitar from my dad. He was the greatest musical influence in my life and still is. After exploring the guitar, I decided to venture out and try the banjo, then the mandolin, and finally the violin. I never really got into sports during my childhood, but I sure drove my parents crazy with squeaky strings when I first began to play. EXPERIENCE By and large, my full-time musical career started at around age 12 when I began playing with my family band, The Crystal Road Band. During my stint with my family band, I performed on average of 150 bookings per year. Here I alternated between instruments to fill in the gaps of lost members to maintain the full sound of the music. After 8 years of on-stage performance and studio sessions, I gleaned many insights on musical styles and concepts that have helped me in my musical career. While performing with my family band, I was able to also perform with some of the most talented performers such as Paul Williams & the Victory Trio, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, and many other great artists. A lot of music teachers only focus on technique and theory. And a lot of teachers just show people how to play songs. We show individuals how to do both. Having fun playing songs and knowing technique and theory are equally important, because if you just learn songs, you'll only know how to do that and not really know how to play an instrument. While technique and theory are important, it can be boring and frustrating to focus primarily on that. At New Tampa Music Lessons, we balance musicianship and fun by making sure that with each lesson you are challenged with a new technical or theory concept, but always end with something fun such as your favorite riff or song. We use a variety of method books to accomplish this and encourage students to bring CDs or their iPod to their lesson to learn their favorite tunes.
The quality of my lessons to the money you pay is second-to-none. I am a college student, who loves playing guitar and learning about music. I bring that passion, and knowledge to my students in a way that they can APPLY IT. Time and time again , I see students quit their instruments because the teacher is basically lecturing the student on music theory, scales, genres, etc. Whenever I teach a topic I try to explain the students why it is important, and show the student what they can do with the information I am giving them. For example, teaching the student all of the major pentatonic scales in each key is great. However, if you do not learn how to phrase those scales together you can never write a solo. My hands on approach to teaching will leave your impressed with your knowledge about guitar and music in no time.
I offer music lessons, from voice to piano, theory instruction and further development and enjoyment of all styles of music. I have over 30 years of experience in Florida.
We offer piano and theory lessons for all ages. Individual lessons are tailored to the student age. Calendar includes recitals, concerts, festivals, and competitions. Guild teachers are active members of NGPT, FMM, FFMC, NFMC, and UMPTA. We have a love for music.
Hard question to answer. As far as I'm aware, I only consider the comfortability of the student at hand. Based on how they react, if they've had previous lessons, I can assess the situation, repair and move on to better things: playing the guitar/instrument.
