He price was more than fair. I would definitely use him again. He does electrical, HVAC and carpentry.

Very happy with Ben's work. He was able to make an outside faucet repair in pouring rain. He is honest, professional, thorough and his prices were much better than those of his competitors! He's the only plumber that I will call from now on!

Hunter and his team did a great job. They cleared our very clogged main drain when everyone else’s solution was to “replace all the cast iron” after they couldn’t clear it. He and his team also installed a clean-out for easier access in the future. They didn’t leave until the job was done and for a very reasonable price. I would hire them again and would recommend.

Very pleased with Elmer Forde's work. His price was very reasonable for what turned out to be a complex job, hundreds of dollars less than the next best quote. I intend to have him come once a year to double-check my storm drainage system. I will also recommend him to others.

Nick did a great job installing curtain rods in our new home and finding a good solution for installing a dryer duct we were having trouble with. He also removed a storm door from our previous home to be installed in our new house. He was very courteous and professional and we plan to call on him again to help with a door installation in the near future.

I hired TNT to do a rebuild and re-pitch of a roof over my sun porch, delete skylights, install 2 new doors for said porch, and fix various places that had water damage around the house, to include an area under the deck that was causing the deck to pull away from the house. With that amount of work needed, and before I talked to anyone, I knew the price for the work would be in the upper thousands. I chose TNT because they had a very fair price in the middle of the range of quotes I got, and the best value for that money. One thing I encourage anyone hiring a contractor to do is make up and sign a contract with them. DO THIS with ANY contractor, and LEAVE THE DEAL if they give you a hard time about wanting a contract. Michael and TNT have a contract already made up, and you and them can add/take out whatever you want before the job even starts. Michael even told me that he really liked that I asked for a contract because it protects BOTH parties. On my end, I put in a provision that before I gave him any money, I had to have a walk around with them and let them know whether or not the work was up to my liking. This was no problem, and they would answer any questions my wife or I had, and showed us examples if needed. So, really everyone, always get a contract!! As for the work, everything looks great! Our roof actually lets water drain into our gutters instead of leaking into our sun room. Our house does not have any more holes in it from water damage or animals, and it really helped the curb appeal of the house. Most important, the deck was not just pulling away from the house the joists under our master the deck was attached to were water damaged. I was shown where all of the problems were so I could understand what was happening and how they would be corrected. It only added 1 day to the timeline, which we were glad about. The guys (mostly Michael's sons) came on time, and cleaned up after themselves everyday. We have 2 dogs who use the backyard and the gate was not left open once when they weren't there. We can't even say that about ourselves. Hopefully you have read this far down and I hope I have helped ease your mind about going with TNT. You won't regret it. Ask for the contract, make it your own, and enjoy whatever project they do for you!

Kirby Brooks from Honest Care came on time and gave a reasonable estimate for installing a new garbage disposal and unclogging the shower. He did the work in a timely and professional manner. Also, cleaned up and gave advise on how to maintain a clear drain in my shower. I would call Honest Care again for any plumbing issues that might arise in the future.

In the middle of abnormal amounts of rain and flooding across the region, our basement flooded like many others. I realized I needed to install a sump pump and fast in order to protect my water heater and furnace. Because of the widespread flooding, finding anyone available was near impossible. Many of those who were available were sadly price gouging like crazy. We paid an insane amount of money to Disaster One just to temporarily pump the water out as well as more insane amounts to a plumber and hvac repairman to get our systems back in working order, which had been slightly submerged. Andrew saved the day by immediately responding to my Thumbtack request, talking me through solutions in detail, and giving me options. He made me feel at ease, never tried to upsale, and best of all gave me a very reasonable rate to do the job. (I paid more for the temporary repairs than for his permanent repair). He shared all of his credentials with me, which made me feel even more at ease hiring him. He also went out of his way to bring a temporary pump to me at night to get me through another night of rain until he could complete the job the following day. Metro Atlanta needs more contractors like Andrew because sadly, this area is full of hucksters and posers who really barely know what they're doing on top of often charging outrageous rates for questionable work. I plan on hiring him to do further repair work at my house soon to cover all grounds to prevent any future major water intrusions. Hire him!

After having three plumbing contractors come to my house prior to Vince, I started to get frustrated. Vince was very professional and had the best price! He did a phenomenal job installing a brand new bathroom in my basement. Don’t hesitate on booking him. It’s finally nice to find someone reliable in Atlanta. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

I called Eric initially to change a chandelier in my dining room which he did for a great price and came out great. I inquired about recessed lighting in my family room and his price was literally almost half of what another contractor quoted me. Eric came back and installed 6 recessed lights with LED trims and even installed a dimmer for me for no extra charge. He is very clean and even though he had to cut holes in the wall to run wiring when he finished there wasn't dust all over the place and the wall looked the same as before. I will definetly be bringing Eric back for some more household projects in the future starting with updating my kitchen backsplash.

Cannot say enough about Arturo and his his team of craftsmen. Arturo responded the same day I contacted him on Thumbtack and then proceeded to get started within a day or so. The quality of the work was great and he worked with me to make sure we didn't take any shortcuts. I had a led pipe (that should have never been there) still in my home. It was a drain pipe from the bathroom and had been damaged and patched up by a prior construction company. The pipe eventually leaked and caused surprising damage in cabinets downstairs and to the floor in the bathroom above. Arturo and his team repaired the kitchen and removed the subfloor underneath the bathroom, reinstall ed a new one, and then retiled everything. Drywall was also needed for the damaged ceiling and the wall behind the toilet. The team started to work on Tuesday and was done by Friday. Super super happy as I have to head out of town and this meant the world. Again cannot recommend Arturo enough for his professionalism, knowledge, responsiveness, and punctuality. Thanks, Matthew

Joe and his crew did an outstanding job repairing our bowed wall in one bath and repairing the residual contractor-applied adhesive areas for a wall mounted mirror so that a nice oval mirror could be hung without any patched areas being visible. From the prompt request for a bid, start to finish of the job, they were professional, courteous, and their work flawless. They protected our hardwood floors and carpeting with tarps and cleaned everything quite well before leaving. We highly recommend Joe and his crew for drywall repair and painting, which they performed in two baths. Marc and Jennifer Iogha (Roswell, GA)

Frank helped me with removing my kitchen disposal and converting the piping to a regular drain. He did an excellent job! He arrived on time, was very pleasant and neat, was diligent in his work, and completed the job in an hour. His price was very fair. I highly recommend Frank and will hire him again in the future for other household projects. Thanks again Frank!

I had a serious water issue downstairs in my family room coming from the outside which created a mold issue. After contacting Larry Hill he was quick to respond, inspected and not only resolved the issue but recommended great ideas that would keep the problem from returning. They installed an outstanding gutter to trench system, vapor barrier for crawl space, gutters, replaced sheet rock and wood, painted the walls plus mold remediation. I have gone through multiple storms since and not a drop of water came into the house which enabled me to re-do the flooring. His team was one of the most professional and courteous team I ever worked with. Not only am I recommending their services but I myself will continue doing projects with them in the very near future. Forgot to mention I also recommended them to my next door neighbor and they resolve his issue as well. Another satisfied customer.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What are plumbers and what do they do?

Plumbers are skilled professionals who are trained to install and maintain pipes and systems for drinking water, sewage and drainage. They usually have trained through four- to five-year training programs, which include apprenticeships, via trade schools and community colleges. Plumbers’ areas of expertise typically go beyond pipes to include mathematics, blueprint reading, plumbing codes and water distribution. They handle plumbing emergencies, such as broken pipes or clogged drains, and install and maintain everything from a new piping system to a replacement faucet. Plumbers also know how to install bathtubs and showers, toilets, water heaters and dishwashers. Plumbers may work on residential or commercial sites, sometimes designing and laying out a pipe system during construction.

How do you find a good plumber?

Whether you need a plumber to perform drain repair, install a new fixture, or replace rusty pipes, you need to make sure you hire someone reliable who will finish your job on time and within budget. Start by asking the plumbers on your short list these questions:

    • What is the total cost? Make sure your estimate includes materials and labor. Find out whether the plumber will be providing the materials and whether you’re being charged an hourly rate (which is variable) or a flat fee.
    • Is removal and cleanup included in the job? Some plumbers leave behind old parts, while others include the cleanup in the cost.
    • Is the work guaranteed? Find out whether the work (as well as the parts or fixtures) are guaranteed under a warranty.
