My entire house was without electricity due to an electrical problem on my meter. FP&L said it was my responsibility to fix and informed me about it on a Friday at 5:30pm. The electrical work was prompt and well done. Unfortunately, while doing the work, they created significant other damage. They placed their foot on water pipes for leverage and the pipes broke. They attempted to repair that unsuccessfully and in fact made the situation worse. I had to bring in a professional plumber to do the job. To their credit, they reimbursed me for the service call portion of the plumber's invoice. Aside from that, they also created a significant dry wall hole. Not on the side of the wall where the work was being done but on the opposite side of the wall. I did not even see this until after they left. In their defense, on their estimate they indicated that they would not be responsible for dry wall damage. Since this work was being done in my garage, I was not concerned. However, the other side of the wall, where the damage was done, was in my home office. That was disappointing. The owner did try to fix the dry wall damage himself, but like the plumbing issue, that only made the situation worse. I now need to get a dry wall profession here to fix that and, due to the disclaimer on the estimate, I am not being reimburse for this expense. The owner did not hide from the damage that his workers did. So I give him credit for that. But certainly I would not use his company again. There is simply no reason for all of this collateral damage. Not what I signed up for. The project turned out to be significantly more expensive than it should have been.

I was very disappointed in this company and I put a lot of faith in them as they have done work for me before I decide to give them a big job over $6000 and gave them a 50% deposit they were very specific about their job and what their scope of work was. They seem to have done a good first half of the job putting in a new box near my house front And running inch and a quarter pipe about 250 to 300 feet to an out building and pulling wire. They worked very hard and I felt very comfortable with all the work they’ve done everything looked great. Simultaneously I was having a sprinkler system put in And the Water Guy was given very specific instructions to stay away from the dig site of the electricians new pipe lay The electricians to tell me specifically the owner of the company and I have it in writing that it was burying The lines 18 inches deep to meet code compliance of the national electric standards. Well as fate would have it the irrigation guy ran over the line with a trencher which was set at 8 inches and cut the lines and did damage. The electric guy went bananas of course saying that the guy had no business being near the recent trench. Fact of the matter is however were the guy ran over it or not and he did Own up to that it turns out that the trencher was set at 8 inches and my whole yard has 8 inch deep trenches and if the electrician had actually buried the lawn 18 inches then it would’ve never got hit. Perfect connection Owner and one employee came out to do work said that the box was destroyed at both ends and the job had to be redone, he did not want to hear anything about it not being 18 inches. The reality is he got very upset and said that he had buried at 18 inches and that on the machine hit his line it pulled it up I asked him could it possibly have raised the whole 250 to 300 foot pipe he buried 13 inches or more from underground. Because we were only able to find that the line was buried 5 inches in some area and 2 1/2 in others. At first he wanted me to pay around $1000 for the repairs, I told him that I would certainly pay for the repairs as it was not his fault the trencher guy did the damage, but again by industry standards it should’ve been a minimum of 18 inches and I was told by two other contractors today that it should’ve been 24 inches Well it was no talking to the Perfect connection guys after I invited him to take a trenching shovel and go anywhere in the 300 feet and show me anywhere that it was more than 5 inches deep. The owner said he did not want to do the work again and got very indignant and started yelling and screaming like A child. I told him that I certainly could afford to pay and would pay but he needed to justify some reason other than a trenching guy being in the wrong and pointing out that the line was only 5 inches in some areas in less than others No where was it buried 18 inches or 24 inches deep as we found it was 5 inches When he started yelling and screaming and said I was dissing his work and that he did not want to do this job anymore I told him to get off my property immediately. With that they stormed off and headed to their truck all the time yelling and giving away total disrespect when it was them not in compliance I have worked with many people on Thumbtack including these people and have had no problems with anyone. In this case they stormed off of course after threatening and getting in my face a little bit not a good cause considering I am a 67-year-old cancer guy but I guess that’s how they roll. I told them I was going to contact The property agencies and file complaints they told me to go ahead and do it I had to do That’s not being my style I contacted them by text and told him let’s let cooler heads prevail and start over again and just fix the problems and move on with the project because they still had a lot of work to do. I told him I was extending an olive branch and needed them to respond to me whether we were moving ahead or not as I have a scheduled to meet with the irrigation guys and other contractors on site. I did get a response in all fairness that said he would be in touch with me in a little while well it is now been a day and a half and there’s been no more contact. I have contacted my attorney And notified proper agencies of the violations of industry standards and failure to adhere to our contracted agreement I would not recommend this group under any circumstances after they took the route of doing substandard work and possibly jeopardizing peoples future health or digging At the end of the day the Electrician code requires 18 inches to 24 inches as I was told by two contractors today and one said that he was shocked that anyone would try to just bury an inch and a quarter Pipe With a number 2 wire running high voltage only 2 1/2 to 5 inches under the surface of the ground It gives me no satisfaction to file these complaints and seek legal remedy and file a complaint on Thumbtack but electricity is not a joke and being approximately 18 to 20 inches off of the industry standards in compliance is not acceptable All I ever asked was for him to own it And fix it. Instead tantrums prevailed and I failed to reach out and accept the olive branch I did hire another contractor today to do the repairs and the first thing he did was say one of the boxes was not damaged enough to be repaired and fixed it in five minutes The other box was going to have to be replaced and the job had to be code compliant Guess we will let the Legal eagles sort this out. Just advising people on thumbtack That maybe it’s a good idea to really observe what’s going on instead of trusting people to do what they’re supposed to do The sick part is I loved these guys and trusted them and have recommended them to a number of my friends and felt very comfortable with them. Now I feel like I got sucker punched. This was about a $6200 job I trusted them with
