Planning ahead

Things to know before you get started.
7 Steps to Renting Food Trucks
  1. 1. Select a venue with enough space for the food truck or cart to park and serve guests.

  2. 2. Taste the food from several food trucks that specialize in the type of food you want. Choose a food truck or a cart that suits your style.

  3. 3. Determine how many food trucks or carts will be needed for your event. Setting up several food trucks or carts can cut down on long waiting lines for food.

  4. 4. Check with the operator to determine which items are provided. Most food trucks offer cups, plates, utensils, and napkins.

  5. 5. Obtain any necessary permits for your city or county. Pick up permits before you set up your event.

  6. 6. Book your food truck at least 30 days before your event. Keep in mind that holidays and weekends tend to be the busiest times for these vendors – and the most costly times for you.

  7. 7. Meet your food truck or cart at the venue to ensure proper placement and setup. Locate trucks or carts on opposite ends of the event space to cut down on crowding.
