I love this place. It's a small gym located in an unassuming shopping center near Shady Grove metro. They specialize in small group training classes and personal training. The instructors are some of the best I've ever had at any gym (Sport & Health, Bally, WSA to name a few I've experienced). Not only do I get a great workout with someone who actually knows my name and any issues I am having, but I am not wasting hours of my day at the gym. I am in and out in less than an hour and I still get the best workout. I highly recommend it!

I have been training with Joel Martin for over a year. During this period he has provided me workouts that have helped me maintain and sometimes improve my running performances. At age 91 it isn't easy to improve one's running times but thanks to Joel this has actually happened. His workouts have resulted in a definite improvement in my endurance, flexibility, balance and strength. Joel is an excellent trainer. His workout drills are well presented and he is always available for consultation.
I was in need of a trainer who could help me achieve my fitness goals. I needed someone who was knowledgable, understands how to work with people who have a variety of fitness levels and nutritional needs, and could teach me how to make the most of my training sessions. I have been through college fitness classes, participated in numerous fitness plans, and tried a variety of exercise routines and it was hard for me to find a trainer who could teach me something new, let alone help me progress. My first session with CJ was a new experience. Instead of taking me around the gym from machine to machine and assigning an amount of weight and reps for me to do for the next month, he spent the time discovering what I could do and what my body needed. During my session he also taught me more about how the muscles work and how to build strength that was not the same old routine. I knew I had found my trainer. Future sessions consisted of a variety of exercises meant to push me further than I thought was possible. He paid attention to my form and helped me make adjustments so I could get the most out of each movement and avoid injury. I was also given extra exercises to do for homework until my next session. Every week is different so I am never bored and my body doesn't get stuck in a rut because it is always being challenged in new ways. As a woman I never felt uncomfortable because of the professionalism shown and he was was always willing to answer my questions. He also helped me find areas where I could improve my eating habits. CJ is constantly reading the latest research on nutrition and fitness and would relay what would be helpful for my fitness goals. I highly recommend CJ for anyone who is willing to put in the work it takes to improve their health and wants some intense butt kicking training sessions.
I have been working with Aric for about 2 months so far and am so happy with the way my experience has been personalized and tailored for my needs. Aric is a warm and dedicated individual who is not scared to push me to ensure I meet my goals. One of the best things about working with Aric is that he introduces you to an overall program which helps to change the way you see exercise, nutrition, and day-to-day life in general. I initially went to Aric to become stronger and fitter but have begun to realize there are multiple ways I can reach these goals, not just through brut force training. I always feel better after going into the gym to get my bi-weekly butt kicking!
Michele is a fabulous coach and nutritionist! She is extremely knowledgeable about training, competing, healing and conditioning the human body. She also understands the mental aspect extremely well. She went over and above about checking in with my student athlete and monitoring his recovery. She was very professional in every aspect of her work!
I was being trained by Catherine years ago and I said something about " No pain, no gain " as she corrected my posture during the routine. She quickly said that no one should experience "pain" when working out. I knew then that I had FINALLY found a REAL trainer. Catherine's training and professional skills are unmatched. She simply loves doing what she does and it shows. She trains you according to your skill level and ability, and she is never distracted by today's tech gadgets ,( cellphones) which means you get 100% of her time, every time. I moved out of state for a short time and invited Catherine down for a visit and workout of course. she could not out run me on the beach, but she whipped my butt in the gym , but they were good workouts. Later on during her visit, she took me to the market and taught me how to properly shop for quality organic foods , and quickly made a knock out dish for me and my friend as we looked on and took notes. I moved back to the DMV area, reconnected with her and now I am receiving weekly healthy meals from her. Boy is that a relief. And knowing that she is a certified nutritionist only adds to her credibility. In short, if you are looking for true quality in a trainer as well as someone too cook healthy meals for you, Catherine is the hands down choice and that's why I give her 5 stars.
