My son is taking Algebra 2 and was really struggling understanding the concepts. We reached out to Todd hoping that he could provide a different perspective so that my son wouldn't fall farther behind. My son says that Todd is a great tutor because he explains everything very well and doesn't make it confusing. Todd also does an excellent job preparing for the next tutoring session so that he and my son can make the most use of the time. We would recommend him to anybody!
Not sure where to start. My girlfriend gave us Shawn as a recommendation, didn’t know what to expect honestly. Her daughter has been going to him throughout her high school career. I’m a pretty picky parent when it comes to the development of my child. I’m not one to trust many, especially in an one on one level. That being said, it’s due to the enormous amount of ingenue people. Especially, unfortunately, from our school systems. Not many people truly care about educating our youth. Shawn is incredibly different. He took the time to get to know my son while at the same time teaching him specifically geared towards the way Jackson needs to learn. Every child learns differently and he found jacks capabilities to put away the fear of numbers and to help him open his mind to learning. My son felt like he was “dumb” because he wasn’t understanding the way his Algebra teacher was teaching, however, through our experience with Shawn taught him not only how to comprehend numbers but understanding you are only as good as the teacher at times is teaching. My son learns more from Shawn in one hour then he does going to his algebra class in 7. My son makes Shawn laugh therefore Jackson knows there’s an underlying friendship of trust and support. Confidence can open your mind and support can give you the sense of “I can”.
David was able to answer my daughter's algebra questions in a way that even I understood!!
Martin has been tremendously helpful to my son in both Algebra and Chemistry. With Martin's help, my son has improved his test scores in both subjects. Martin is professional, punctual and is flexible with his schedule. I highly recommend his services.
Julie tutored my daughter for algebra II and pre-calculus. My child does not like math but never got less than a B while working with Julie. She even got some a's from a teacher who never gives A's. Julie makes all math understandable and we would hire her for college but my daughter will be too far away. No amount is too much for her expertise.
Danielle Stanton is no doubt one of the most talented teachers of anything I've met in my entire life . . . and I'm a seventy-year-old educator and grandmother. She's incredibly bright and knowledgeable about math; but--far more important to me--she knows how to "read" kids and to adapt what and how she teaches to the individual. My ten-year-old grandson has made remarkable progress with Danielle's help in just a few weeks, and he describes every session as being just plain fun--according to him, in fact, "better than a play date!" I became alarmed when he seemed unable to learn his multiplication tables by the middle of fourth grade. That same "reluctant" learner has now made it through memorizing his 7s in less than a month. I spent thousands of dollars dragging him to boring, after-school, semi-private "math-enrichment" lessons at a branded local math franchise several days each week, including summers, for over two years. My grandson hated those sessions because he hated learning math from dull, impersonal worksheets--the same system that was failing him at his private Montessori school. As I suspected, "practice, practice, practice" isn't always the answer!! This same child is now up at the white board beside Danielle, actively engaged, laughing with her, at her, and at himself, jumping around on his toes in excitement, and spouting the multiplication tables both quickly and accurately. Learning the basics, however, is just the starting point. Danielle takes him well beyond the basics during every tutoring session and shows him how applied mathematics underpins most of the things in which he has a much deeper interest--design, engineering, construction, motors, airplanes, etc. She moves quickly, talks quickly, reasons quickly, and manages to teach math basics quickly without focusing exclusively on them. As a result, Danielle is able to engage my grandson's full attention and to ignite a willingness to learn what before he found simply boring. Side benefits? His self-esteem and self-confidence are soaring!
