Khushbu P. says, "Matt and his team worked with me over the past 3 months to help completely remodel my parents 2BD 1BA condo. He came out to check the place and listened to all my asks, which was to basically remodel everything in the unit. He wrote up a quote and provided a timeframe/milestones. There were some hiccups related to outside factors like the upstairs neighbor leaking bathtub which delayed us a little and just in general balancing other projects he had, but Matt and his team worked extra hours to be able to get everything done almost close to the timeframe given and my parents were able to move back in. The quality of work was what impressed me the most, they gave me suggestions and design feedback. They used the best quality items as I had asked and checked in with me when decisions were needed or if anything would push us further from the budget. I also made the call to replace all of the windows once they had started and Matt worked to get the very specific windows and his team did just a fantastic work removing these 40+ year old windows and putting in new ones! I would recommend Matt and his team to anyone who’s looking to ensure their project is done with quality. As in any large project, there might be some delays, but if we hedge those in, then it makes everything smoother for both sides."See more

FAQs

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How do I hire the best general contractor in Boston?

Look for general contractors in Boston by going online, where you can compare their services and online reviews. Do they have a record of happy customers? Do they offer the services you need?

If so, check to make sure that they are current with their license, registration and insurance. You may be able to verify contractors’ licenses by searching online.

Your final step is to gather free estimates. Ask several general contractors in Boston to send you free price quotes so you can hire a contractor that fits within your budget.

What is the best waterproof flooring for a basement?

There are several great options for waterproof basement flooring. For example, epoxy floors are waterproof but are thicker and sturdier than paint. Make sure the concrete substrate has been prepared for application.

Tile is a designer’s dream, giving you a moisture-resistant surface that’s infinitely customizable. Rubber sheets or tiles are also good waterproof options, particularly for playrooms, workout areas or laundry rooms.

Vinyl tiles and planks imitate wood or other materials very convincingly, provide moisture resistance and last a long time. And sheet vinyl is affordable and a great waterproofing solution for those in need of quick fixes.
