Very quick and responsive. Hached had the parts to repair our dryer on the spot. After several bad experiences with national brandname repair services, we were pleasantly surprised with the customer service. I would highly recommend Guemri Appliance Repair.

I called Jacob and he set up an appt for the next day which I thought was prompt. He came out and gave me an estimate to fix my dryer. Jacob was quite helpful and informed me that although he could fix the internal parts to the dryer if I did not have the external vents cleaned up ...his repair would be in vain. I ordered the parts and asked Jacob not to fix the dryer issue until I was able to have the external vents cleaned. After receiving a much needed vent cleaning, Jacob came back out and repaired the dryer. I really like and appreciate that Jacob did not just take my money and fix the immediate issue when the main problem of dirty vents still existed. He advised of the overall issue before I paid him one dollar. This company definitely gives the customer sound advice even at the expense of not taking any money from the job. I highly recommend that you use this company!!! Well worth the money.

I had Mr. Brown come out to repair the subfloor around a toilet and patch some drywall in my ceiling. Not only was Mr. Brown friendly and affordable but he provided excellent service and did a quality job with the project. I'm definitely a satisfied customer.

I really couldn't say enough good things about these guys. My Washing Machine and dryer broke so I was stuck with a load of wet clothes and no desire to deal with the laundromat. I figured I would hang the clothes to dry, call a repairman and hopefully have a working dryer in a couple of days. No need, they came out the next evening I called and had it fixed up in about an 2 hour for a bargain price! I slept soundly in my dryer fluffed PJ's confident that the repair will last :) Absolutely the best choice for washer/dryer repair in the area! Ps: thanks Donnell !!!Good job!!!

Extremely professional. Dupree offered me a free estimate on my water heater repair. I needed a part, and he gave me great advice on getting the part for free from the manufacturer. In the interim, he provided us with a temporary fix and we were able to have hot water until the part was shipped out. The repair was completed within a day of me notifying the company that the part was in. And most importantly, the labor costs was extremely reasonable. I would absolutely hire Dupree again for my home repair needs.

Service - I had stack-unit laundry center washer with a clogged pump. I knew what had to be done, but had no time to figure out how to do it. This tech was responsive and local to DC, so I selected him. He had me text him my address and and we coordinated a same-day appointment time. He came ahead of schedule. He charged more than I expected, but was open to negotiating a price I could accept. He was able to diagnose and resolve the problem within 30 min. I have locked him into my phone.

Voyo is the kind of contractor I like to work with because I like to hire help with my home projects; meaning, I like to get a professional with years of experience involved to help me and share the work. Voyo helped me with a difficult washer/dryer installation due to the very tight space in an upper floor closet. Would hire him again for appliance help or to perform repairs. He’s also great company and has a rich history and life experience.

Nav got back to me right away and had two technician sent to my house within one day. He even offered same day service as well (which was amazing), but no one was home to meet the technicians the day I submitted the request. I was extremely impressed by the customer service and the level of communication. Thank you so much. I will definitely reach out again should we need appliance repair services!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does refrigerator repair cost?

Refrigerator repair generally costs a fraction of the price of a new fridge and shouldhave your appliance up and running again in no time. The problems your refrigerator is experiencing and the parts required to fix it will affect your repair costs. Where you live can affect labor rates, which will raise or lower your costs. Here are some examples of average costs:

  • Diagnostic fees: $50-$100. Repair pros often have a service call fee or diagnostic fee to account for their time traveling to your location with all their tools to assess the problem. If you choose to have them repair the fridge, most pros then credit this fee toward your repair cost.
  • Parts: $20-$500. A new compressor averages $200, an icemaker $300, and computerized components such as touch screens and control boards average $300 or more.
  • Basic repairs: $180-$400, including parts. This price range can include repairing the evaporator or fan motor.

How long do fridges last?

Refrigerators can last 10 to 20 years, although the most common lifespan is about 13 years. If your fridge is acting up, consider its current age when deciding whether to invest in repairs or buy a new one. Common easy fixes include faulty thermostats, dirty coils and clogged drain lines. Thermostats and dirty coils can be generally be fixed for an average cost of $80-$100. Clogged drain lines, which usually cause leaks, can often be fixed for under $200.

More complex refrigeration repairs such as replacing a bad compressor or replenishing low refrigerant can cost more because of expensive parts and higher labor. A new compressor costs an average of $200, not including labor. If labor is an average of $75-$100 per hour, and the repair takes 3 hours, you’re looking at roughly $500. Consider the age and purchase cost of your fridge; investing $350 in a $600 fridge that is 8 years old may not be cost-effective.
