I've been working with Vince for a few weeks now and I have to say that I am loving it! There are certainly personal trainers who only show up, train you, and leave but that is not Vince! He always happily answers my texts and keeps communication open between sessions. As a recent transplant to St. Louis, I wasn’t sure how to go out about finding a personal trainer. Or more honestly, I wasn’t positive I wanted to try working with one again. After a competitive Figure Skating injury years back, I gave up sports -and eventually- exercise all together. I’ve worked with a handful of trainers, peppered throughout the last 5 years, and ended up with a plethora of minor injuries mainly from their lack of attention to my form. My enthusiasm for getting back in shape was deflated, and the idea of finding the right trainer for me seemed daunting and impossible. Enter Brian Underwood. After reading his reviews, bio and overall philosophy, I decided to give him a call and feel him out. Naturally, I rambled on about my precautions, needs, wants, fears, goals, ect, and albeit he was patient and responsive towards each one. I could already tell that I felt comfortable being absolutely honest with him, which I knew would pay off in terms of seeing results in the long run. As an out-of-shape individual, sometimes it can be hard to admit one’s flaws out loud, let alone to a complete stranger. But Brian was so nonjudgmental and eager to shed knowledge on how he would craft a personal plan for me. And I appreciated that. Training with Brian has been educational, safe, beneficial, tailor-made for my needs and dare I say Fun. He has made me feel open and excited to explore exercise again. I genuinely think he cares about my physical needs and pulls from his breadth of knowledge to best help me reach my goals. As a creature of habit, I enjoy how Brian changes up our sessions to keep me on my toes with new meal ideas and differing exercises. His intelligence and passion for his trade show in how carefully he watches form/posture and cares to teach me about what I am doing and why. Particularly, Brian’s proficiency in PRI has opened my eyes to the benefits of correct posture and even correct breathing. Most of all, I like Brian’s ability to push me hard and keep me accountable while maintaining his gregarious, warm-natured demeanor. He is a true professional. Again, as someone who has had an iffy track record with personal trainers, I couldn’t be happier with finding Brian and his services. See you in the gym!

Brian Underwood has been my personal trainer for over five years now, and it has been an excellent experience. He keeps me motivated to stay in shape by keeping things balanced - Brian is consistent, while at the same time, he continually adds new elements to the workout routines as he sees that I need them. The workouts are fun, but at the same time, they are challenging and serious, and have gotten me into great shape. Brian pushes me hard, yet works with me to know what my sensible safe limits are, so that I'm actually gaining and building, instead of tearing myself down. Brian knows what he is doing, and really enjoys what he is doing. That's why I have remained a client for five years! 7 months ago when I started I was out of shape – I had gotten so bored with the typical routines at the gym that I just stopped going. Between that and past leg injury, I could hardly execute many ‘normal’ movements/ exercises. Brad has a wonderful understanding of the human body and was able to pinpoint exactly why and where I was getting held up. He worked with me to provide additional stretches and exercises to improve my mobility. Now it’s pretty incredible how far I’ve come. I am constantly blown away at what I’m able to do and how my body is continually transforming. I see the same progress in others too. The atmosphere is wonderful! I honestly have a great time every time I go to train. I haven’t met anyone I didn’t like at Stone Strength. I am constantly meeting new people from all backgrounds and age groups. One of the best things is the team atmosphere. I grew up an athlete, always part of a team. After college it was a pretty odd feeling no longer being part of a team or competing. I really missed that. At Stone Strength I finally have that back! I highly recommend anyone and everyone to Stone Strength. No one is too old, young or broken. Brad us by far one of the best trainers I have ever had the pleasure to work with (and I have worked with my fair share of personal trainers, sports therapy rehab specialists, etc.). His expertise, great personality and positive attitude will not disappoint!

I hired Christine three months ago to help me lose 25-30 pounds, lower my sugar levels as I am a Type 2 diabetic and improve my overall fitness. I was pretty scared when I first agreed to train with her- I'll be honest. I was not overweight, but I was very out of shape and most trainers really push you. The first few workouts were really challenging as expected for me but Christine was amazing. She designed each workout specifically around me, took her time to teach me proper form (which is so important), and pushed me to limits I never knew I could reach. Three months later, not only have I lost some weight and inches, but I feel like a new person. I am doing things and wearing clothes I have not in years. My 6 year old daughter has joined us for most of our sessions and Christine has gotten her to love exercise. Exercise has become a daily routine at our house and that's something no other program or trainer was able to do. Combined with proper diet, her training sessions will transform your body. If you do as she asks, you wont regret hiring her. I promise. =)

Chris is a fantastic trainer and I highly recommend her. I wasn't sure what I was getting into and was quite skeptical anyone could help me. I waited to give my review until I was sure it was a good and successful experience. When Chris started with me I was basically a tub of goo and she has worked a miracle by getting me to my goals without putting me through misery. She finds routines that work within my limitations, even researching my specific issues to find the best workout without causing any harm. She works with me to create a sustainable diet that fits my lifestyle and preferences. In between visits, she checks in on me with encouragement to keep to the plan. Also, she is completely reliable and lets me know immediately if she might be delayed. At 57, I am now healthier and stronger than I ever have been in my life and I owe it all to Chris.

Through Summer’ support, both mentally and physically, I got in the best shape of my life...even at age 45!!! Summer is an excellent trainer! I was able to meet with her right away and she answered all my questions and concerns. I decided to hire her and set up my sessions for the entire month. She is very flexible and will work around your schedule so no matter what you have going on, you can easily get your workouts in each week. Before I started training with her I hadn't exercised in 3+ years so I was nervous to start back up. She made me feel comfortable and knew exactly how hard to push me. I love that I can see definition in my arms and legs and it's a huge motivator to keep coming back week after week. I highly recommend her as a trainer and I am so thankful I found her!

Kyle has proven to be an excellent designer of the activities I need to keep making progress with issues in my neck, my right shoulder, my lower back and both legs. We are currently strengthening and making more flexible the muscles in my thighs, my core, and my neck area. I judge my progress by what activities I can do and how my flexibility and stamina progress. Since Kyle and I started on this extended period of personal fitness, I climb stairs without difficulty, I can carry small loads up and down stairs, I can drive my car 250 miles without agony, I can now play 9 holes of golf without pain and stiffness, I am currently extending my golf to 15 holes twice a week and 9 holes once a week (the extension does cause stiffness the next day), and both the strengthening and the flexibility exercises Kyle has me do for my lower back have proven very helpful. All of Kyle’s activities are designed to be done in a fluid motion, involving many muscle systems, requiring coordination between systems, and are carefully controlled in frequency and intensity. If the reader has not seen a personal trainer ever, or not in the last 7-10 years, the reader will be amazed at how different these new techniques are than the times when we used more static weight lifting routines. As a person, Kyle cares deeply about his clients’ welfare, is very easy to work with, and absolutely insists that he deliver therapies that will work and are individualized for the client. He is knowledgeable, respectful, tactful, careful, and challenging. He continuously monitors the activities, their conduct, and their effectiveness. I have found Kyle to be a trainer I can respect.
