About

My son had been taking classical guitar lessons for a few years and was bored with his group class. Patrick was a breath of fresh air and was great with our 8 year old. He is very patient and listens to what his student's interests and goals are. Patrick is an excellent teacher and all around great musician himself! I highly recommend him as a guitar instructor for someone of any level!

About

We highly recommend Michael, who teaches our teenage son piano in our home weekly. Michael is responsive to what interests his student, gentle but clear in terms of expectations, very encouraging and flexible about meeting times. He was recommended to us by a professional pianist who took guitar lessons from him and thought he was great.

Our five year old daughter started lessons with Ken back in March and we are very pleased with her progress and how patient he is with her. It can't be easy to give such a young child guitar lessons but he accomplishes it!!

About

I teach guitar, bluegrass banjo and ukulele. The lessons are in private, soundproofed rooms, with a spacious waiting room as well. The Studio is in a free standing building with plenty of free parking available. The lessons are tailored each student, so there is no "one size fits all" approach to our teaching. Students range in age from 7 years old to retired senior citizens in their 60s and 70s. All the lessons are private, one on one sessions so there's no peer pressure or feeling like you're falling behind. Tuition is a flat fee each month so it's easy for you to budget. Strings, books and accessories are available on site so can get what you need without trying to find music stores that have what you need. Beginners are welcomed and encouraged! We're in downtown Kirkwood, which is 10-15 minutes from major highways.

About

I am a guitar teacher of all styles. All ages are welcome. I teach guitar and bass, as well as music theory. I have been teaching for over 12 years, and I am very versatile in all styles of music. Currently, I am the guitar professor at Lewis and Clark College in Godfrey, Illinois. My style is well taken by adults, who are my base of students. I do, however, teach all ages. My teaching method is very thorough and in depth. I go well beyond just showing the student how to play a song. My quality as a teacher that most enjoy is I take great pride and enjoyment watching and helping my students grow, gain interest, and learn from this wonderful art form.

About

Kirk Hanser and Childbloom program have been a fantastic find for us since moving to the STL area in 2013. Our daughter has progressed dramatically since she started playing with her Kirk Hanser. Our daughter Gaby has been playing there since she was 12 and since then she joined the well-recognized Bella Corda guitar ensemble and her participation with them and Kirk's wonderful teaching style has done wonders for Gaby. Every time we get an opportunity we recommend the studio because we have seen the type of guidance and professionalism and how it has helped our daughter on her classical guitar studies. We are very gratefully Kirk and his academy!!!!

About

Some music teachers are too strict and rigid. They teach only the "proper" classical methods and effectively taking the fun out of music. Others are too lax. They will show you how to play a music piece without explaining to you how it works. It is like learning to paint by numbers! Get the best of both worlds. We will begin with the fundamentals and learn to play, within reason, some of your favorite songs. Just bring a CD or iPod (vinyl and tape, too). My aim is to coach students to know the instrument, so that they can start to learn songs by ear, improvise and write music! Lessons are one on one in a studio space at one of St. Louis' best live music venues, Off Broadway, conveniently located near Arsenal and I-55. Private home lessons are also available. Experienced players who want to improve their songwriting, music theory, technique, and improvisation are encouraged to call. Let us see if I have what you are looking for. All materials are provided, and beginners are welcome! I charge $25 per hour, and offer discounts for monthly prepayment. Email or call me for more information.
