I am not a fan of writing so-so reviews but it is getting to me that it is becoming a norm for the contractors to charge homeowners just for the visit without fixing anything. The guys that came were polite but that is about it, my HVAC continues to flood the bedrooms underneath as much if not more. I have paid money for their visit, they left and I am staring at the wet stain in the bedroom's ceiling from all the condensate that continue to leak from the HVAC into ceiling insulation and damaging the floors. Their answer was we do not know what is causing the condensate to leak. So many good reviews for this company but I cannot attest.

I had to replace an Evaporator Coil (Rheem). Bryan was responsive, explained everything in detail, and provided a reasonable estimate. He found out that the existing coil was still under warranty and worked that out with the manufacturer. Overall, very professional, good communication, and good value. Bottom-line: Christopher did an absolutely amazing job. He far exceeded my expectations for HVAC repair from numerous previous service calls to other companies. I have finally found my go-to resource for HVAC services. Not only is he very knowledgeable about HVAC, but his enthusiasm for the job and satisfying the customer is genuine and sincere. He truly loves the work he does and helping his customers. He truly was a joy to work with and I would recommend him without hesitation. Within minutes, he had not only diagnosed the problem with one of my AC units, but had it fixed and up and running again. I actually had a 2nd problem with my other AC unit and he immediately diagnosed the problem and quickly had it running correctly as well. I typically like to ask a lot of questions to understand what the problem(s) and solution(s) were so I can be a better-informed customer to better take care of my equipment for longevity as well as for future DIY repairs as possible. He took the extra time and effort to explain what the problems were, what he was doing and what the fixes were and made it easier for me to better take care and maintain my equipment.

I was extremely happy with all aspects of the A/C replacement job Howe's HVAC Services did for me. Jordan was very responsive and communicative throughout the job - from the estimate, scheduling, installation, post-installation inspection and follow-ups. Jordan was very thorough in his evaluation of the upstairs & downstairs systems and he also called my attention to some ancillary items which he offered to fix as well (such as to secure the line from my dehumidifier and address the deteriorated insulation on one of the water lines). His attention to detail and desire to do the job 'right' was evident and it gave me great comfort to know he was going to actually be participating in the installation job (along with another technician) and not just handing it off to some crew and then disappearing. I had two other estimates for the job and I ultimately went with Howe's because it was competitively priced and I was impressed and felt comfortable with the way Jordan managed the process. After the job was over, the Howe's team managed all of the details to get the required county inspection scheduled and there were no issues. I would definitely recommend Howe's HVAC Services for future home HVAC work. p.s. - He also lit the pilot light on my gas fireplace!

BigG is not a trained or a qualified HVAC technician. He was not sure if the system takes R22 versus 410A etc. He was planning to add 5 pounds of it. I'm so glad I didn't go with his service and paid the service call fee (wasted) and then got professional help elsewhere. The problem was something else and got resolved quickly and at half the cost of BigG quoted.

Not only was the cost of the equipment and service very reasonable, the job was done cleanly and professionally. When we pointed out a small detail that was overlooked during the initial work, a new technician was sent out quickly to resolve the issue at no extra charge to us. I need to pull a permit for work already done without permit on a house that we purchased and needed a licensed mechanical contractors information and report from a hvac inspection. This company set up an appointment knowing full well what was needed and then changed it to just looking at my ac system and also was not willing to give the report whether the unit was up to code or not. They just came out did a visual inspection and charged me to waste my time and money. I can not recommend a company that is doing the bait and switch routine to steal peoples time and money

Eric was the first person to respond to me on Thumbtack (late on a Sunday night) when we discovered our AC was out - mid June and forecasted to be 90 degrees the next day. He showed up on Monday morning and worked to get into out crawl space. The space was too small but he immediately called another HVAC specialist who then came out a bit later in the day and fixed the problem. Rather than say that he couldn’t fix the issue and leave it to us to find someone else, he did the leg work to ensure we were taken care of. Very grateful for his prompt response and dedication to fixing our issue. Very nice guy.

My 9-1/2 year old AC was not keeping us cool. Since I'm an engineer I did some troubleshooting and decided the problem was very likely a refrigerant level issue. Given the reviews on Tumbtack and his price quote I hired Courtney of North East Solutions to do a service call and check my AC for refrigerant level. I was a bit concerned when he arrived not in a van with his company name painted on the side, but in a Lexus SUV. By the end of the service call those concerns were put to rest. He knew his stuff. The quick summary is that Courtney exhibited the highest level of integrity I've seen for a long time, got the system properly charged with refrigerant, and I'm happy to say we've been enjoying our AC ever since. The long story is that we had scheduled a 5:30-6:00 arrival time and due to delays with an installation he was doing, he didn't arrive until almost 8pm. He did text that he'd be late, but his estimated arrival times pushed back a couple of times. When he did arrive I told him the system used R410 (don't ask me why) and Courtney quickly went to work connecting his gauges and an R410 tank to charge the system. He quickly realized I was wrong and that it was an R22 system... not good. The system required a full purge and refill with R22. I couldn't fault him too much. It was the end of a long day for him and he had taken my information at face value, but he amazingly took full responsibility for not double checking the system. He wanted to do the job for free (which normally would run ~4X the original quote for the R410). I insisted he take at least the originally quoted fee, he agreed on my insistence to take 1/2. Courtney was knowledgeable and honest above all. I expect to hire him again for my next HVAC job. I would have given him 5 stars except for his inability to estimate his arrival time :-)
