I have been taking jazz guitar lessons from Dom for almost a year and a half now. His particular approach to teaching music is very refreshing from all others I've encountered before. Dom has a certain way of finding a student's particular sound on their instrument and personalizing each lesson to better bring out this sound. My experience so far has been completely positive and I look forward to more lessons.

I can't say enough fantastic things about Christopher. He taught my daughter in home guitar lessons. He is professional, responsible, easy to work with and a genius on guitar. He taught my daughter so much and she plays beautifully. I would recommend him to anyone!

I took lessons from Jimi for string bass and later for guitar. Through his lessons, I learned how to do more than just read notes on a page. I learned the other important skills of improvising and jamming with others. If I ever had a problem, Jimi would notice and help me work through it. I'm now able to jam out to jazz music on bass and guitar, and it's all thanks to Jimi.

Guitar lessons can be boring, but not with Steve. Steve's guitar playing its Eddie Van Halen's level and best of all is that he is very humble and a funny teacher. He will take his time to explain you note by note on the entire fretboard. I always have fun learning new scales, arpeggios, triads etc. with Steve. You will actually get exited every time a guitar lesson with him is coming up. A guitar instructor that actually knows how to play pretty much anything on guitar, but if you are into Rock, Classic Rock, Hard Rock, Metal, Jazz and Jazz Fusion, you should definitely take guitar lessons with Steve. - Winston Beast Master (Khiazma band)

I take piano lessons from Michael. He is a great teacher, particularly because he customizes his lessons to suit the students' skill levels and musical goals. He prepares material ahead of class and has a nice structured approach that I find helpful in developing a good feel for the piano. It's great that he focuses on important technicals like tempo, playing technique and theory, and his lessons are well-rounded, with just the right amount of time spent on each aspect. I like that he is flexible with both scheduling and the curriculum, and willing to tailor material to what I am interested in. He also helped me pick out an excellent piano within my budget, which was very helpful. Overall, a great experience, and definitely recommended!

I have had the honor of taking guitar lessons with Larry Meyer for about 3 years. Larry introduced me to the world of JAZZ and the concept of musical freedom through improvisation. Larry has truly inspired me to be a musician, and to think beyond my original guitar mind set. If you ask him a question, you will get an answer backed by a lifetime of musical exploration and experience, not to mention the serious undeniable pure talent. It is impossible to get a lesson from Larry and not be infected by his excitement of the music and the joy of revealing that infinite world to an aspiring player. I thank you Larry for your friendship and patience as you helped direct me through each musical stepping stone.

I had attempted to learn the guitar via YouTube for about 6 months and continued to struggle. Decided to give Josh a shot and have been thoroughly impressed. He is a young, down-to-earth normal guy with tons knowledge and enthusiasm. He actually listens to what I want to learn and structures his lessons and materials around this. He always comes well prepared and teaching comes natural to him. Overall extremely happy with Josh as a guitar coach (contrary to all the others I've tried!)

I've been playing guitar on and off for many years, and have tried a number of teachers, but I always come back to the same thing- I get a pile of instructions and scales from someone and I look at the guitar and decide I don't want to play it. This all changed after I met Jeremy- he knew exactly how to make me excited to pick up the instrument. I'm still not exactly sure how he did it, but since I started with him I can't wait to get to my guitar. He has a method he uses where he finds ways to make practicing fun, or at least have immediate results. A truly excellent teacher A+++.

I took lessons with Paul for a year and a half. Iโ€™ve been learning guitar since middle school so I have had numerous tutors through out the years but I have never had a teacher as good as Paul. Paul not only knows so much about music but also teaches extremely well. He distills complex concepts in a way thatโ€™s very easy to understand. Lastly, he constantly motivates me to practice because he is so passionate about guitar and that has definitely rubbed off on me. Every lesson with Paul was seriously a gem - 10/10 would recommend Paul as a guitar teacher and a friend.

Chanan was a joy to work with! Knowledgeable and skilled and very creative. He helped produce a record of sacred music for me and also provided back up guitar for my band when needed a few times in Dallas. He is an exceptional engineer and guitar player with a fine ear for detail.

Very cool and fun teacher. He not only plays nice guitar but also makes me enjoy playing along. He also has a deep understanding in music theory which makes me understand a lot of the in and outs of a piece and create my own style.

I have been taking drum lessons from Alex for about 6 months. Alex was among three instructors to contact me on Thumbtack and I consider myself fortunate to have chosen him as my teacher. I have been playing drums on and off for over 50 years but I am mostly self-taught. I am currently in a classic rock band and Alex is helping me take my playing up to the next level. His musical knowledge is vast and his teaching style is relaxed but competent. I would not hesitate to recommend Alex to anyone regardless of their level of ability.

Saul is a very talented and patient teacher. He takes his time getting to know what you want out of lessons, and is very flexible in his approach. When one way wasn't working, he found another. As someone who desperately wanted and needed to learn guitar, but sorely lacking in "natural ability", he was a perfect fit for me as a teacher. He brought me a long, LONG way in a short period of time. I highly recommend him!

Arthur is an excellent, very well-rounded, guitar instructor. He is very knowledgeable in quite a few aspects of guitar playing - from music theory, playing different styles, transcribing, to all the guitar gear and technology stuff. He has a nice studio, and is also very accuracy oriented, which I really like. I'm into learning to play the blues, rock and metal, and Arthur has been really helpful with that. Highly recommended!

I am 29 years old, and started taking lessons (as an absolute beginner, going in) about 4.5 months ago; after over a decade of daydreaming about playing the guitar! Its been an awesome experience learning how to play, and as someone who works full time and remain active socially, it is not easy to find a substantial amount of time to practice. That being said, I have been diligent in playing pretty much every day, at least 5 minutes, (and often turns into an hour). The teacher has been ok, and i have learned a decent amount, however feel that it can be better. Particularly with a lack of clarity about understanding music (notes etc), which I have limited to no understanding of. He was charging $55/hour and came to my apartment on the upper west side-97th and broadway. I am hoping to get the same rate and see if someone would be a better fit. Lemme know!
