We took engagement photos with Ken this weekend and it was a wonderful experience. The shoot was fun and the pictures turned out great. We received the finished photos two days after the shoot. We would definitely recommend to anyone in Northeast Ohio and can't wait for him to shoot our wedding.

Everything was great! I went with just regular makeup which I wish I would have done airbrush because by the time I got to the wedding venue, my chin and nose had gotten splotchy but we were able to fix it. I also loved having the false lashes besides both of them started to come off about 1 hour after she did them. I did have her start my makeup earlier than I should have, so that was a big factor. All in all, Gabriel was great and I would recommend her to anyone!

Chuck and his daughter were awesome! We got the photo booth for our wedding reception, and everyone enjoyed it. He even went out of his way to find a template for the photo strips that coordinated with our 1920's theme, and reminded my husband and I to get a picture before our time was up! Additionally, their rates were awesome in comparison to other companies. I would definitely use their services again.

David was a pleasure to with whom to work! He was quick to respond to correspondence. He asked thoughtful questions about the kind of photography experience we wanted. He arrived early the day of the wedding. We went to multiple locations for pictures. Working with David was stress free and we enjoyed the experience very much! Can't wait to see the pictures, I am sure they will exceed our expectations.

Mark did a great job at our wedding! He met me at our venue a week ahead to scope out the logistics, and after assessing the situation, purchased a new wireless system to fit our needs! Despite a few hiccups with the system solely based on not having used it before, Mark rolled with the glitches and get things working pretty smoothly in no time. Overall, an excellent value for your money! And Mark is super friendly, responsive and a great DJ. If you're looking to stay away from the large companies and want someone to work with you and play your music, call Mark. You won't be disappointed!

Megan was very sweet and even got all teary eyed during our ceremony. It was very sweet. We loved her warmth that she exhibited. The only reason we didn't chose 5 was because we felt a little rushed due to another wedding after ours. I understand time crunch but would have been nice for us to just focus on our wedding instead of knowing someone else was having a day too.

Mike was awesome! All my wedding guests had a blast with the photo booth! So happy we chose the package with the book of photos so we can look back and laugh at all the craziness we missed. All of his props were clean and his setup was professional. He was great with all my guests as some of them took a liking to the ever so popular shark head. His pricing was reasonable as well. 10/10!

We could not be happier with the service Shirley provided. She was quick to respond to any questions we had, more then prompt to the ceremony, and went over everything with our families beforehand. The wedding was personal and very spiritual. We highly recommend her!

Great value, and I got so many compliments about how great the wedding video was. Keeping the raw footage is nice for just me and my hubby to watch, but the trailer always makes me smile and will cherish.

Highly satisfied with Angela's service for makeup for my wedding! She was very responsive, professional, and positive and also incorporated feedback well to shape my eyebrows just right and achieve a beautifully natural look. I got to do a trial with her beforehand which made the wedding morning go even more smoothly. She expertly hid two blemishes on my face, and thank goodness that the eye makeup was waterproof!! Definitely recommend hiring On Point Artistry!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

What is a wedding planner?

A wedding planner is a professional service provider whose job it is to organize and execute all the details of a couple’s wedding. A wedding planner can be contracted at any stage in the wedding planning process to help to any degree the couple is willing to pay for. Wedding planning is similar to event planning in that a planning team handles the coordination of multiple wedding elements including catering, venue, guests, entertainment, decor, transportation and more. Anyone who has ever been involved in a wedding can confirm that wedding planning is hard work. Experience brings wisdom when it comes to avoiding or resolving day-of challenges. There is no legal regulatory body that oversees or certifies wedding planning as an industry. Anyone who chooses can call themselves a wedding planner. When looking for a wedding planner, be sure to read reviews, and make smart hiring decisions by asking about licenses and insurance.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

How much does it cost for a photographer for a wedding?

Finding the right wedding photographer can make a big difference for your ceremony. Nationally, the average wedding photographer’s price ranges from $800 to $1,000, but costs can be much higher in areas like Chicago, New York or Los Angeles where some couples spend $2,000 to $5,000 or more for the photographer they want. Factors that can affect your wedding photographer prices include the photographer’s reputation and experience. Heavy hitters can command top rates, especially during wedding-season weekends. Day of the week also affects your cost. You may get a $200 discount on wedding photographer prices if you get married on a Friday in November rather than a Saturday in June. Time onsite is also an important cost factor. Hiring a photographer to snap photos from the moment you wake up until after last call at the reception is going to cost more than five hours of pictures during the day. Multiple photographers, special lighting, and videography will also increase your costs. Ultimately you want to find someone who has a style you love and can provide the number of edited shots you want for a price you can handle. Learn more about hiring a wedding photographer.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.
